Had a noon appointment for inspection, oil change and likely 2 new tires. There were 3 cars in the lot. When I returned at 1:30 my car hadn't budged from where I parked it. The smirking cashier had a "stuff happens in this business...get over it" attitude. I understand that delays can happen, but would it have been so hard for one of the other employees to CALL ME and tell me there was a delay? Is that how you treat a repeat customer? I'm going to avoid this place from now on, and you should to. UPDATE: I went to Delta Sonic just a mile up the road the next morning. I dropped the car off at 8:20, went across the road to Wegmans for a coffee and bagel, and received a call at 9:20 that my car was ready for pickup. Nice. In the mean time Firestone "owner" responded to my initial review with the usual "email me with more details". There are no more details...and I won't go back to that shop again...there are far too many other places to go where they treat customers courteously and respectfully. read more

I usually do my tire business with les schwab but I have left the west coast. On my trip across the county I needed new tires so I went to Firestone in Texas and it was great! So when my tire popped here in Buffalo I decided to go back because I had a warranty. The first person I talked to was kind and awesome so I was looking forward to my visit. I went in for a tire change and pressure check. I was there for TWO HOURS. When I asked about time left, they quickly changed the tire over for me and sent me on my way. Two days later my light came on and my tire was bulging. I came back to get it fixed and it went in right away. The fellow brought me into the shop to tell me that the tire was in fact not bulging and that the tire pressure in my three others tires were low. ---they said pressure check was apart of my last visit-- As I was leaving he made sure to tell me that "if the light comes on again it's not necessarily their fault but it would be a faulty light" Right, they could have just fixed the problem to begin with and we wouldn't be there three days later talking down to me ? Terrible Terrible Terrible. Carless group of mechanics. Ive had an issue of my driver side tire leaning inward. I set a 4pm appointment for an alignment, mount and balance of new tires. They called me at 6pm stating they could not do the alignment because of my leveling kit and that my camber and caster bolt was "frozen". Tires still on the truck 2 hours after the appointment. They close at 7 so they put off working my truck for 2 hours and do not do the work. Half a***d. I show up with 0 knowledge on this as i'm not a mechanic and have the frozen bolt explained. I said okay and paid for the new tire mount/balance and took it home. They couldn't do the alignment due to the "frozen bolt" and they stated my 2" leveling kit is not something they normally do. It's a southern truck. I bought the lifetime alignment in Tennessee at a local firestone. It's not my fault you're southern locations do 2" alignments and you don't, so to the older gentleman who was upset about that, don't talk to your customers with pity. anyways, they mounted and balanced the new tires. Nice, but they kept my valve caps. did not place the old tires in the truck as i had told them i wanted them. So already the worst start. A day goes buy and i buy a new camber kit and lifted my truck at home to do it myself. What do you know, both of my ball joints are destroyed. Call the shop and was told "i shook the tires and there was 0 play" okay we'll either your lying or you installed something incorrect to cause the ball joint to snap within the next 24hours. I go buy new control arms and begin to take everything apart. THE camber and caster bolt came off with 2 WRENCHES. minimal effort. Frozen bolt my a** they just put off working on my truck until the last hour and wanted to go home. Bunch of ignorant and lazy people in this shop. Joe was my mechanic. I paid $20 for an inspection. Mechanic game me 0 input on the rest of the inspection beyond frozen bolts and there was 0 paperwork stating what was found in the inspection. I'll never come to this shop or any firestone that these team members show face at. It took me with 0 experience 3 hours to do this job whereas if they stated at my appointment time 4pm, they could have definitely done the job right. AGAIN, Terrible Terrible Terrible. read more

Quoted an additional $4,000.00 for other repairs they tried to convince me were urgent. Thank god I got a second opinion. Took to a local, independent mechanic and had A/C fixed for $100.00 and learned that the other repairs could be done for under $1,000.00 and could wait. When I got there the guy told me he only had one tech and couldn't take me. I understood and he rescheduled me to the next day. I then came back the next day and was told I would have to wait 3 hours for an inspection because they were busy. I asked what the point was in scheduling appointments and the guy became immediately rude and said the service I need is at the bottom of the priority list and that I could try coming back next week. The best thing about snow is having good, quality snow tires on your vehicle. Well, I guess snow angels are kinda cool too... And what could compare to plowing a guy right in the mouth with a well-placed snow ball? One of my personal favs. Actually, the more I think about it, the more I realize I don't care for snow as much as I think I do, and would prefer to not make snow angels nor crack people in the teeth with snowballs and not have to buy snow tires altogether. With this being Buffalo, however, then nothing is better than having good, quality snow tires. Purchasing the Blizzak Tires from Firestone has proved to be one of the better investments I have made. I picked them up over 5 years ago, and I'm still able to get my snows and my all-season tires mounted and balanced for about $66 (down from over $95 for all four tires). Moreover, I've spent some time traveling to the Adirondack Region and lower Quebec Providence in the winter months and hardly noticed the inches of snow on the ground during my travels. The $66 deal I spoke of is honored at all Firestone locations. So, no need to go out of your way and stay loyal to one location when you can go to many. Also, the customer service is pretty good as well. My most recent drop in for my appointment at the location at Niagara Falls Blvd and Sheridan Drive had my car finished in under an hour and the staff was great. Don't wait for the snow to hit to realize that it sucks driving your car in the weather. Stop in Firestone and pick up some Blizzak Tires before you regret it. Now, if only Firestone could install a mechanism on your car that automatically shovels your driveway for you and makes you a great cup of peppermint mocha cappuccino before you rise in the morning then winters in Buffalo wouldn't be half bad. read more

As I was getting back out there to get my car at 5pm I get a call that they weren't able to work on the car even though I had an appointment and was the first car there. When I get there, the worker claims they don't give appointments and I should come back when im ready. I am sorry to say that Firestone has lost a customer for life. I thought that this place was great last time I had work done on my car. This time was the complete opposite. BEWARE of the $9.99 Car Care Package. I had problems with a wobble on my steering wheel and felt the tires were off. They identified the problem as a busted belt in one of my front tires. They also said I needed to replace at least 3 of my tires immediately. I knew I had to replace at least 2. But then they went on with scare tactics that my tie-rods were loose and suspension arm is going, blah blah blah... about $1200 additional dollars of work. Can you believe they don't stock tires? I thought "tires" is what Firestone is known for. They did not have any tires for my GM vehicle, which were being advertised, on hand. So, I paid the $10 and got the heck out of there. So glad I did. God was looking out for me today. I went to Dunn Tire and they assured me I only needed 2 new tires and that nothing was wrong with my tie-rods or suspension. I asked them to PLEASE double-check. They were shocked that Firestone gave me the foul advice. And they did not charge me a $9.99 fee to check either. Will never return to Firestone. read more

I trust this place and the work. I recently had to have something replaced. One of the guys brought me to the garage to look under my car so I can see what the problem was. Terribly bad habits of gravy work. They are excellent at fixing repairs that you as a customer come in knowing are needed, but "gravy work" in the form of recommending various expensive other "repairs" that sent needed or come way overpriced. $235 for two rear brake pads and $477 for a new alternator? Gotta be kidding me. These are repairs that can be done yourself for cost of parts or at a cheaper but still quality non -franchise auto shop. Firestone makes good tires but it's not worth it with the pressure to pay for more miscellaneous repairs to boost their payout. The place has good tire prices and base inspection fee, but that's about it. This place just wants money and will charge super high fees for work that should be less expensive or is unnecessary. They also don't honor appointment times and force you to wait an hour or more before they even bring your car into the garage when you do make an appointment. Not all Firestone locations are the same. This location run by Joe and his team is the best! I had a new set of tires put on in Texas and drove to buffalo where I developed a slow leak. Joe was detailed and thorough to fix my problem ( switched out the tpms kit, sealed the bead, replaced new tire under warranty) and had me on my way home for Christmas with minimal delay. Very courteous service and he only had me in-time to be home for Christmas as objective. Wow! read more

A couple of months ago I went to get my tires changed at the Niagara Falls Blvd location and they put the wrong tire size on my car. I found out this out later through a mechanic friend who looked at my car. When I went to go get this problem corrected and I mentioned the problem to an employee Jason, he glared at me and asked me if I had ever made mistakes in my life. He than became argumentative and hostile. I eventually let it go and tried to be civil when I came back to pick my car up. However, Jason refused to acknowledge me when I greeted him and asked if my car was done yet. He eventually went and got my key and then threw it down on the counter aggressively. I thought maybe I had called him by the wrong name earlier when he did not acknowledge me, but when I asked him for it he nastily replied "You just said my name didn't you?". I have been going to this Firestone for years but today I swore I would never come back so long as this employee works here. This is a garage that you definitely need to avoid by any means. For NY state inspection, this Firestone will fail your car such as window shield blades and ask you to have those fixed there. Even if you change the blades right away by yourself, they will charge another fee on top of the NY mandate fee. For a standard oil change, they will tell you a $20+ quote, then when you pay for that, you would find several more small charges you do not recognize that would add up to a total cost close to $40. Oh well What a shame of Firestone! The clerks are very rude anyway. read more
