This is an amazing restaurant that knows how to take care of its customers. This was the first place my wife and I choose to go once the restrictions were lifted. We couldn't wait any longer and man they delivered and let me say they always deliver on consistency. The fried chicken sandwich is amazing and the hand cut fries seal the deal. They have a great bar stocked with all of our local favorites. I'm not saying this lightly, but if you have any complaints about Dunstan, your too picky and should stay home. Enjoyed my time here last night. It was a 1/2 hr wait to sit inside so we sat on the patio near the firepit and it was lovely. Atmosphere, service & food are A-OK. We have been here once before and had Nick as our bartender who was phenomenal. Tonight we were lucky enough to have Kelly as our server who was knowledgeable about the wine and food menus while giving amazing service. The owner did a great a stop by to sell us another bottle of wine. Even the young lady who ran our food and helped clear us was so prompt and helpful. Phenomenal service. I can't get over how amazing everything was. We shared the poutine for an app, and the pork belly that was with it was delicious. I had the fish and chips for my entree, and I have lived in New England my entire life and can say this was definitely the best F&C I've had in my life. My boyfriend had one of their house pizzas and loved it too! The thing that stayed with both of us the most was how kind and accommodating or waitress, Jessica, was. I come hailing from Florida. We were a party of 11. 6 adults and 5 kids. Varied tastes and very picky with food. Highly suggest this restaurant for variety, service and food. There is a kids menu. :) Top picks- Lamb Burger, Big Bacon Mac Burger, Brussels Sprouts, and Clam Chowder. Owners are rude. There was no way my burger was medium rare. I've had 7 burgers there previously. All perfectly to my liking. This time the Burger wasn't done to my liking - very overdone. I asked to send it back for another. Owner THREW a menu at me and said "pick something else on the menu or we can undercook your food - you choose". She was not interested in my opinion. She said " I feel like I'm not going to make you happy so I'm just going to walk away". Really? I've easily spent upwards toward 1000 dollars at this establishment since it's opening. I've brought friends and family there for good meals. The owners have no idea about customer service, active listening or creating loyalty among locals. They have lost my business. Poor value and quality. Water served in 8oz cups like drinking out of thermos cap. $18 for flavorless burger with 1//4" slice of cheese that came with crushed kettle chips $2 extra for fries. Got pizza and lasagna that was dry. Asked for extra sauce and was charged for it. $90 for family of 4 with no alcohol was disappointing. Next time will go to Cowbell for much better burgers and value. Poutine was good but won't be going back. read more

Nickel and diming you to death! The food was decent and our server was nice, but they way they price the food is offensive. If you want a different side besides chips add 2 dollars for coleslaw and 4 dollars for a salad that is only lettuce. If you want a sauce it's .75. I think their prices are already high enough that adding those extras is unnecessary. If they fix that I would consider coming back, otherwise no way. read more

Could have been three stars, but let me start from the beginning. We had family travel up from Boston to take us out to dinner. We have been wanting to try Dunstan Tap and Table and we all looked at the menu and agreed it looked good. When we arrived we were seated right away although it was already pretty packed. The decor is nice. It is VERY loud (the acoustics and not the color choices) which meant repeated "what?"s or holding our hand up to our ear and leaning forward as the universal "can you please repeat that?" The menu has many delicious sounding offerings. I ordered the soup of the day which was broccoli cheese soup. It was excellent. Others ordered the poutine which they liked except for it having just one giant chunk of sausage. When our entrees came our server waited for us to move the plates from our appetizers/soup out of the way, placed our dinner on the table, and then asked if we needed anything else? I asked if she could please clear the empty plates which she then did. We shouldn't have to ask. For entrees they ordered the lamb burger which got a great review, the chicken sandwich and the steak sandwich. All were very tall/packed with generous portions of meat. My husband, who had the steak sandwich, said it was ok but nothing special. What made my my order stand out is that is was FLAT. I ordered the Reuben sandwich which comes with Thousand Island dressing, cheese, sauerkraut and pastrami. Any Reuben I've had in the past always came with a generous stack of sliced beef (but of course not always NYC deli tall), but this was a thin pancake of shredded pastrami and there was very little of it. There was no sauerkraut and way too much dressing. Everyone else noticed how flat my sandwich was but since they were treating and visiting just for dinner and couldn't stay for long since they were heading home after dinner, I didn't want to make a scene or send it back and wait for a new entree. At that point I was still OK with the place overall because everything else seemed good and definitely planned to return. I assumed the kitchen messed up my sandwich. I decided to call and speak to the manager once I was home to ask if that was how they normally served a Reuben or did the kitchen get it really wrong. The manager, who I believe to be the owner because I saw him while I was there and he actually cleared my "plate" (they use wood boards) and would have seen my mostly uneaten fries (they were soggy) and unfinished sandwich, got on the phone. I explained the situation--that we were with guests who were treating us so I thought it better to mention it/ask afterward since I'm a local who would definitely want to come back and that almost everything else was good. He said well he can't help me now and thanks for calling somewhat sarcastically. He also said he can't even be sure that I was in there at all after I told him I was just there within the past hour! "Are you serious?!" I asked him. And then he said was going and hung up. Because of how rudely I was treated, as if I'm some kind Reuben con artist, (maybe this is a growing problem in Scarborough?) and how bad my Reuben was, which apparently was how they intended to serve it up since the manager/likely owner offered no apology, I give them one star and will not return. read more

Dunstan T&T is the BEST! We have been here several times since they opened. The food is top notch and of the highest quality. The owners are so friendly and their extensive experience in the restaurant business is evident in their consistent service, food quality, and experience. We have 3 kids and they provide a high quality kids menu accompanied by wiki stix and corn hole to keep them occupied. Our kids LOVE that they are thought of in such a nice restaurant. When friends are in town we recommend D T &T every time hands down. The fried chicken sandwich is like nothing you have ever had. Fresh, generous, and absolutely delicious! The steak and cheese, Reuben, and burgers are amazing! If you like fries with poutine this is your place! I never liked poutine until trying theirs! The wings and brussel sprouts are also a must! 3rd and last time I gave this place a chance. LOUD! So loud. Have a sore throat today from yelling to my friend right next me for 2 hours. Food is bleh. The Brussels sprouts are good except the meat used is flavorless, HUGE square chunks and chewy as heck. The burgers are flavorless and bland, and the slivered red wet slimy thin stringy onions on them HAVE TO GO. My hands have smelled like onions all night and day and won't come off. Fries are mealy and bland, chewy and dry. Never again, too bad as location is great and building is beautiful. read more

Disappointed in the latest addition to Scarborough's food and drink scene. We went for lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the ambience - they did a great job inside and the hostess was very sweet. We ordered their spicy margarita but when it arrived, the salt on the rim was missing. Not a big deal. The Korean pork burger had good flavor, as did our fries, but we needed to send the bltce back because it had cheese when we requested it be without. They comped the sandwich but When it came back, it included an obvious thumb hole and hair on the bun. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and hope this was not intentional, but it was enough for us to ask for the check. It was an unfortunate first impression. read more

Completely ignored us for 25 minutes and when confronted on it told us it was on literally on purpose because we "sat in the wrong place". Even though a waitress sat us there, and I told you that! Shoved a clipboard in our faces and shows us a list of people who supposedly should have been sat there before us, like we skipped them somehow. I will never be back you condescending elitist. The food is over thought. Flat out too many conflicting flavors going in the dishes resulting in a flavorless meh. And it was executed poorly. Poor cook, poor presentation. Undercooked pork belly is basically a mouth full of warm chewy semi raw fat. It comes with the poutine. I thought it was a cheese curd. SURPRISE! (None of pork belly chunks in the dish were cooked all the way, so dont try to tell me one slipped through.) A plate of 20+ soggy bland peppers isnt Blistered Shishiti Peppers. Simplify your dishes and execute them well. Right now they're complicated and executed poorly. read more

As for our party of 4 experience I can't say enough good about the service, food and experience. All well done except my lamb burger which was done perfectly medium rare as ordered. Not sure why this place only has 3.5 stars. Service was great, I had the Rueben. It was screaming hot (in a good way). Got it with the fries. Spend the money and get the fries. They are fabulous. The chowder is nicely presented and a thick and heart dish. Almost a stew. The other meal we got was the Bacon Mac Burger. Similar in style to that burger from the restaurant with twin arches, except the one at Dunstan is made with two grilled, meaty patties. Would not come back!!!- Service was horrible and the Restaraunt was empty. Did not explain the menu- asked for an ingredient to be excluded due to an allergy concern and the food arrived with the item on it, they had no concern just took them off and brought them back. We had to ask them to remake it!!! The first waitress copped an attitude at that point we were thinking about just leaving. Waitress two appeared with no explanation, brought food out wrong. This might be my favorite spot to grab drinks and food in Saco. The atmosphere is always clean and bright, and every waitress that's waited on me has personality and is extremely attentive. I love the outdoor fire pit, which they've even set up for my table in the wintertime, even though they knew we would be the only ones out there. I also really appreciate that there are unique healthy options on the menu. I always look forward to coming here and it is the first place on my mind when someone asks me where we should go. read more

I am writing this review to mainly express how great of an experience we had tonight at dinner! The food was great. As was the beer and service. Although, one thing bothered my husband and I, and after some reading up on the other reviews I don't think that we are alone. We ordered the Korean BBQ wings (delish) and asked for a side of ranch and blue cheese. When we got our check we were charged $0.75 for the ranch and blue cheese - EACH! I appreciate the fact that high quality foods and ingredients are used here at Dunstan Tap and Table, but I'd rather pay a dollar extra for the wings than to have $0.75 slickly added onto the bill. Just makes it seem less transparent. This was the only reason I'm giving 4 stars. Thanks! read more
