DuPage Auto Werks is one the best deals in town. These guys have been servicing my car needs since 1995. I've had at least 10 cars serviced through them and purchased at least 5 cars from them. They are honest, fair and trustworthy. I wouldn't stay with a team that wasn't. Cars are mechanical and these guys know how to fix them, if they don't they tell you up front and give great recommendations on what to do next. I put my money on DAW and I won't stop now. i requested an estimate they said they would call back in 5 minutes i waited an hour called them ? he gave me the price then said it would be an additional 100$ for an oil change when the oil would already have been drained his total price was in line with other shops until he quoted the 100$ extra my final choice was a different shop that was 225$ cheaper for the whole job and they explained it to me which i was already well aware what was involved. remember people are more educated than before with the world wide web and chat gpt i had read previous reviews and was set to go to your shop until the added 100$ i did not mind calling back i understand your busy read more

Our car started making a rumbling sounds after a road trip to minneapolis. We called around and this was the only place that could take us the same day with a loaner. Wrong these people are complete liars I used to run a shop and I used to refer all of my euro cars to them most likely about 7,000 dollars worth.... then recently my own BMW 540i was acting up after a DUI accident someone backed into it and took off so I decided maybe I'll see if they can return the favor and check out my car.... weeks went by I got no results I figured maybe they were just really busy then they told me the fuel pump is out I paid for that I asked for them to rewire the engine harness because it had dangled down and got burned up that's how hard it was hit by the other vehicle so they charge me $100 to rewire and even wrote down that they fixed my battery terminal they did neither one I don't even think they looked at my car once I called and confronted them Dwayne got irate and said oh well we spent a lot of time on that car that doesn't matter. Our RAV4 needed body work after a minor accident. The entire repair went as good as good can get. Jim was flexible in the timing of the initial appointment. We got a detailed estimate the same day with very reasonable prices. Jim took the time to explain a lot of details we needed to make wise decisions about the repair. The work was completed on the time table promised for the exact amount quoted in the estimate. Not too expensive but I don't feel like I got the best deal either. The main pro about this place is that the staff there is trustworthy and nice. Don't wait for them to call you though, you have to be proactive on checking when your parts are in and when you can pick your car up. I was driving from Wisconsin to Virginia when my check engine light came on. Ugh. I pulled up tdiclub.com, looked at their trusted mechanic list and found Dupage. It was a little out of the way for me, but I figured I had to go. It was late in the day and I expected the worst. To my surprise they couldn't have been more friendly and helpful and had me back in the road in about an hour. My son's car needed immediate towing and a repair estimate/work done to return it to drivability. Wayne at DuPage Auto, of three I called, was most responsive. While it needed parts and took a couple of weeks, they even did a couple of extra jobs, like paint touch-up, for no extra charge. I thought I'd write a review about five terrific guys who've handled my auto maintenance needs since the 1980s. I'm speaking of Dwayne Shilling and his son, Kevin, and Rich, Mark, Jim and the rest of the staff at Du Page Auto Werks. We have a particularly challenging 2001 Honda Civic that's been used the past five years by my son the rock and roll drummer. Toting drums and amps all over the Chicago area. Too many large guys stuffed inside for trips to gigs in Wisconsin, etc. I think Dwayne would agree the Civic has been driven hard and put away wet. Yes indeed. Forget about our other two cars--a 2005 Volvo and a 2003 Jetta--the Civic has been their albatross. And they've come through perfectly for us time and time again. Most recently it was ball joints and brakes. Boom, boom, boom. In and out. The rear brakes weren't quite right. Dwayne had the guys take a second pass and now they're smoooooooooth! Foreign car maintenance, by its very nature, is expensive. Especially with European models. You know and accept this premise when you buy the Mercedes or Audi or Mini. That's the deal. They're quirky and parts are often expensive. Ok. So Dwayne's a realist. He doesn't sell you more than you need. He also explains in detail exactly what he'd like to do. The best part? Dwayne usually has a "loaner" available at no charge to the customer. The loaner issue is huge for most of us. They're honest guys. They give straight answers. I don't need anything more. read more

Do not take your german car to the dealership for repair. Take it here instead. They are better technicians than the dealership and far more friendly. Don't even get me started on the money you will save either. Our family trusts nobody else when it comes to repairing our BMW's. You'll get treated great, charged fairly and the work done is the best there is. read more

I love this place been taking my cars here for years. I do agree that when you do you need to call and check on the car because they often forget to call you. But they are honest, hard working, and driven. However, I brought him a brand new 2011 civic and he immediately bought the necessary items to talk to my car. Not such a great experience hate to leave a bad review but considering I threw away over 500.00 had to tell... Went in to have a part installed for brakes (which I was told doesn't work so that was a wasted time) I'm getting it rechecked though. But I also had a check engine light on for secondary air injection I was told its unually the pump but it could be a hose ect also so I bought a pump just in case I called and asked if they could diagnose it and fix the problem and if it was the pump instal the pump and if it's not obviously let me know and fix it ... Hose I get there first of all my car is pulled up so far forward my bumper is touching the cement which is very unprofessional and I'm told they installed the pump I asked it if was diagnosed he says well not a full diagnose we just did what we could... So my check engine light is still on... I paid for a service that shouldn't have been performed now I have to make a small claims case... I don't trust place I've emailed left messages very nicely and never received a call back... Worst experience I've ever had.... I feel like I threw away all my money to them read more
