Do not contact this company for any work if you care about your time and money. They are very unprofessional. I hired this company to repair my garage door. They finally came out several hours after the scheduled appointment and made a temporary fix and charged me a $50 dollar deposit. I called back several times to schedule the appointment to have the repair made and the same rude, incompetent, unprofessional lady answered the phone only to continue to hang up on me and not answer any more. My wife tried calling and the owner picked up and told her to call someone else then hung up on her. I think this is a small company ran by husband and wife only looking for easy $50 deposits instead of getting the work done. I usually never rate my negative experiences with companies but I had to take the time out of my busy day for this one. read more

Outstanding company & awesome team has provided us with excellent service for 25 years....highly recommend using them. They installed 2 doors on our 3 car garage when we did a major renovation/additional in 2000 and they did a great job, and over the years we've had a couple springs break and every time they came and did the repair the same day allowing us to get the car out of the garage. Their prices have been reasonable every time and the crew is always very nice and very capable. I have complete confidence in this company and appreciate the consistently high level of service they have provided. My experience 4 or 5 times over many years has been 100% positive. Our spring broke again after 8 months of getting it installed. We called them to fix it again under the 1 year warranty, they said they would call back and stopped answering the phone. I called on another phone and they answered right away. When mentioned about how they never called back she rudely said im letting you go now then hung up. Stopped answering the phones. DO NOT HIRE! Contacted DuPage Overhead Garage Door because my garage door was slightly damaged and not working properly. As another review had stated, their stickers were all over our garage from the prior homeowners. The technician came on time, however rather than diagnose the problem and give me any explanations, it was replace this and replace that. He was texting the owner rather than calling him directly for a quote which was highly inefficient, one of many red flags. The technician also kept saying he was in a rush. Was already looking at a bill worth several hundred dollars at least. Still, I went along with everything, was told I'd get a quote by EOD, and wrote out a $50 check as a deposit - huge mistake. For the next week, I had to chase them down for a quote which I was continually told would come later that day. A week later, I had had enough as it seemed like my garage door was getting worse and called to ask for a refund. I was told it would be taken care of. Sure enough, they deposited the check anyway, so I called them back. This time I got Pete, the owner. HIGHLY unprofessional, we had a heated argument, and the conversation ended with, "That's not how this works, you're not getting a refund." Didn't ask any questions, no explanation as to why I never got a quote. He was just very angry. I contacted another garage door company that showed up the same day and gave me their recommendation and options. Very transparent. I agreed that overdue maintenance was all that was necessary for the time being until I was ready to replace the entire garage door. The technician did his thing and was on his way. While DuPage Overhead put a bad taste in my mouth, it's better it happened this way as I could've potentially spent +$1K on something that isn't warranted right now, and instead, I learned a valuable $50 lesson. Plus, who knows what the experience of having my entire garage door replaced by them would have been like... I rarely write reviews, but this was such a bad experience that I felt compelled to warn others. Please do not make the same mistake I made! The name of the company sounds official and because of all the stickers found within my garage, it made me disregard my own logic to do my due diligence. There are plenty more garage door companies to choose from. Cross this one off your list ASAP. read more

Contacted Dupage garage door since they previously serviced the garage doors (stickers everywhere) with the prior owner. They arrived several (4) hours late. Wanted a quote for repairs to provide to my home warranty company to get the job approved and completed. Chased DOGD for several months to get the quote which I still am yet to receive. Seems like the initial fee I paid was worthless for the technician to assess my garage doors. Your better off contacting anyone else. read more

I had a garage door installed by them just over a year ago. It went really well and had a great experience. A month ago I had an incident with my garage door and called them back. I spoke with the person and exchanged texts and pictures, I'm going on 3 weeks and haven't heard a single word back. I've tried reaching them multiple times since then and their voicemail is full and they never call back. If your looking for responsiveness, move on. read more

I had DuPage Overhead install a new garage door June 2013. The guy was nice and did a good job. One morning in April 2014, I noticed one of the panels bent in and the INTERIOR metal bar bent. I called the company to come out and see if there could have been some kind of malfunction with the operation of the door to cause this. The only entry and exit for my garage is to raise or lower the garage door with my garage door opener. A guy named "Pete" came out May 10th. As soon as he got out of the truck I could tell he had an attitude. He said there was no malfunction. If that was his summation, well that is why I had him come out. My next step was to find out how much it would cost me to fix it and to find out what else could have caused the problem. He would not disclose the cost of repair. He kept saying the garage door was "hit". I asked him by what? I have left my garage door up many times after I pull in. Days before he came out for the inspection I saw a raccoon go in my garage and pull over my garbage can. I asked "Pete" could a raccoon have caused the damage? He said no; still acting abrupt and dismissive with me. Our conversation was all of 5 minutes. He walked toward his van and I asked him if there was a problem? He said "I don't like being lied to." I asked what he meant and he would not say. He said he would have the manufacturer call me and left. I was shocked and angry at his rudeness. Afterwards I realized that I believe he was insinuating that I opened my garage door with the opener, got in my van to start it, then closed my garage door with my opener and backed into my door. I was so angry that he was accusing me of some kind of "ruse" to get my door fixed. He "claimed" to be the owner when I asked who the owner was. If this is the way an owner would treat a customer that paid $700 previously, I would stay clear of this company. Once they have your money, that is it. It is now May 26th and no call from a manufacturer and no response to another email to Dupage Overhead. Ironically enough, a week after this guy was at my home, I came out of my house to see there were animal's footprints horizontally on the exterior of my garage door from one side to the other. I have the photo of it. I am surmising that when my garage door was in the up position, that indeed a raccoon might have jumped on my door causing that damage after all. So there you go "Pete". I will not recommend this company to anybody. As a female homeowner you always have to be careful of companies like this. I don't think this guy would have treated me like this if I was a man. I will give my cash to someone else to repair my door. read more
