The beans are better than average. It's a super cool traditional Mexican Restaurant feels like I'm somewhere in Mexico with delightful colors. My wife and I literally had a craving for Mexican on Cinco De Mayo, and Casa Don Juan is really close to us. So, off we went. We got there before the dinner rush crowd. We literally left the house, ordered and paid within an hour! The fast was, as usual, delicious! Generous portions, friendly servers and a casual atmosphere. The only thing I would love to see on the beverage menu would be glutten free seltzers. Drinks like White Claws, Nutruls or Trulys. She can't have any restaurant beers and no one carries those on tap or in bottles. Other than that, this restaurant is perfect when you're craving a good Mexican dinner. read more

Wow! The service here is incredible. Right when I was sat down there was two servers waiting to take our drink order and deliver chips and salsa. They also gave bean dip which to me is a personal favorite. I feel like this is a family owned restaurant with a professional standards. I love the ambience. read more

It's white cheese dip with jalapeños but not sure I would spend the "market price" ~$12 as quoted on the menu. I mean it's decent and hits the spot but it's the price of a full meal. You get chips, salsa, and beans dip which are all perfect. The salsa has good flavor and it's just liquid. Pair that with the Al Pasor tacos and some spicy salsa - this is fire! The taco comes with grilled onions, pineapple, pico and guacamole. One of the best...out of carne asada and chicken. Hard pass on the chicken, comes with lettuce and yellow cheese - not a fan. We came here for lunch on a Sunday 09/21, and made reservations this time to be safe. My boyfriend ordered the Chile Colorado (beef) plate and thought it was absolutely delicious--tender meat with rich flavor. The ambiance was the same warm and inviting atmosphere we remembered, but this time I got to watch one of the ladies making fresh tortillas by hand, which made the experience feel even more authentic. We'll definitely be coming back! ---------------- Our first visit was on Sunday 08/17 and we stopped by for lunch. The restaurant was busy but not overcrowded, and we were seated right away. Complimentary chips and salsa is always a plus. I ordered the #17 carne asada, which was flavorful and very tender. My boyfriend had the #11 three enchiladas. He especially enjoyed the cheese, followed by the chicken, and said overall it was very good. For dessert, we shared the flan, which was delicious, and not overly sweet. We had such an amazing experience here. The food is always incredible, and the staff is consistently so kind and welcoming. The whole place just has the best energy and vibes every time we come in. We were celebrating my father-in-law's 80th birthday, and Chanel truly made the night extra special. She came over and offered to take photos for us, and I'm so glad she did because they turned out absolutely beautiful. She was so sweet, professional, and really captured such meaningful moments for our family. We ended up purchasing all of the photos and will cherish them forever. Our server, Darwin, was also amazing--attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect for us the entire time. And the strawberry margarita is SO good... highly recommend. To top it all off, the staff came out and sang, which made the whole experience feel so fun and magical. It truly meant a lot to our family. We can't wait to come back again soon! read more

So as we were enjoying yet another great meal here last Sunday at Lunchtime we realized we have been coming here for 30 years. Now the Name on the front has changed a couple times over the years but maybe the same family runs it? I mean the service is Always Tops! And the food, while things have been tweaked a bit over the years is superb! It's getting harder to find full service Mexican Restaurants ( lots of just Taco Shops) and since the food here is authentic and consistent I see why the doors have been open so long. 3 locations, Summerlin, Arts District and Henderson on Sunset, the Best one in my opinion! This has become our go to place for Mexican food and margaritas in the area. The restaurant is big with a separate bar area and has a traditional Mexican restaurant vibe. The wait staff is attentive and there is also a resident photographer if you're into that. They have an extensive list of margaritas to chose from I tried the cucumber and house and both were great although the cucumber one don't taste very strong. The tasted home cooked and we liked everything we ordered. If you're in the area, definitely give this place a try! read more

We bought a $29.70 Groupon that gave us $50 worth of food, and we did tip $10... so we ended up paying $42 for 2 hot plates of enchiladas, tacos, and sides, as well as a desert! We did wait 15 mins for a table at 8pm because they only had 1 section open, before they closed at 9pm but it was worth the wait because the service and memory is lasting! They only took 15 mins to make our order, gave us 10 mins to look at the menu! Also the best part, they give you free chips, salsa and beans while waiting! I'm a regular customer at Casa Don Juan and usually visit once or twice a month. My recent visit was very disappointing due to how a small payment issue was handled. My bill was around $75, and I noticed I was not charged tax (about $2.78). I pointed it out and was fine paying it. Shortly after, I was told the card machine wasn't working. We then waited while staff tried to fix the issue, which turned into about 20-30 minutes total of waiting over something very minor. At that point, I let them know I needed to leave and suggested they could just charge my card once the system was back up since they already had my information. However, I was told I could not leave without paying the $2.78 tax on the spot. While I understand businesses need to collect what is owed, the situation felt unnecessary and poorly handled given the small amount and the fact that the issue started on their end. The lack of flexibility and overall handling came off as petty, especially after I had already spent time waiting for their system issues. Because of this experience, I will not be returning. read more

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in town. We first tried it because we heard they had white queso and we couldn't find it anywhere else in Vegas. Needless to say we order it every time. First of all, the food was very tasty and the waiter was awesome, we have been there numerous times. With that said, I ordered the steak and shrimp fajitas. When the plate came, there was an okay amount of shrimp but there was only about 2 ounces of steak and a lot of tomatoes and onions, a lot! Very little bell peppers. I was not impressed so I asked to talk to the manager, his name is Juan. When Juan came to our table, I showed him my plate (I hadn't eaten any steak yet) and I asked him if he thought that was a reasonable amount of steak on my plate. He didn't answer me, instead he said that the portions are measured out. I asked how much is measured out, he said 4 ounces of steak. (Remember, there was only about 2 ounces on my plate). He told me all of this with ATTITUDE and walked away. I later caught him looking at me. He noticed me looking back and he decided to give me a "fake" smile. I felt very uncomfortable. I can't help but wonder if his "don't care about the customer" attitude was because I am not Hispanic. The whole time my wife was looking at me as if to say "I'm hungry, please don't say lets go!" We stayed until she finished. I will NEVER go back while Juan is the Manager!!!!!!!!! I feel he doesn't care about ALL the customers, just certain few. read more
