I have waited 5 years to write this review. As a previous Las Vegas native I used to visit this taco shop at least once a week with my partner. Well after 5 years we found ourselves driving cross country and we knew we had to stop when we were in the area. I can say with confidence that these tacos are just as good if not better than when I was a local. Its so great to see a location keep consistency even after having been away for 5 year. Mas Takos is amazing! During my lunch hour, I used to go to a pretty authentic taco shop on Charleston (T***s Mexico). Unfortunately, my office moved, so I found Mas Takos on Yelp. Mas Takos serves those traditional, authentic "street" tacos, which are topped with onion and cilantro, and served with a slice of lime. Pure heaven! I had two carne asada tacos, two chicken tacos, and two carnitas tacos, and they were all awesome...so flavorful and juicy. They give you two bottles of salsa (orange-colored and green) to top your tacos with. The orange-colored salsa was super delicious...just the right amount of heat (I didn't try the green salsa, since that doesn't often agree with my insides...LOL). The gal at the counter was really nice...very friendly. The $15 I spent on lunch was well worth it and those tacos really satisfied my Mexican street taco craving. I can't believe I drove past this place for so long and never gave it a chance, I got two chicken tacos with red and green sauce and they were so good. My tacos came in a box with a couple limes, some radish and some chips the tacos just had cilantro and onions on them, but they were so good 10 out of 10 stars for flavor and presentation. This is one of my favorite Mexican food spots but honestly I'm very frustrated when it comes to ordering online. The reason for my 1 star review is in hopes that the owners train a lot better whoever it is that's in charge of bagging the online orders. I literally called them as soon as I placed my order through DoorDash, I talked to a young lady and I politely asked for them NOT to forget to send red salsa, lemons and radishes. I gave her the name of the order, She just said OK and hung up! Well I ordered 1 order of the 4 chicken roll tacos, plus 2 chorizo tacos, 1 carnitas taco and 1 fish taco and a drink. They only sent ONE RED SALSA for the whole order, NO lemons, NO RADISHES, NO STRAW for my drink, NO NAPKINS, NO UTENSILS!! I am beyond frustrated because my meal is not going to be enjoyable without the salsas. I had to use tapatío and it's not the same. This has been happening a lot!! Even when I go through the drive-thru they always seem to mess up my order. I love the food here but they need to get it together because it is not cool to be paying for additional fees that we get charged for ordering online just to have the order completely ruined. read more

Where to start? I ordered for pick up, had hubby go get it. I ordered a little of everything: asada quesadilla, asada nachos, and chicken/asada tacos. My goodness.... All of the meat was unseasoned. Absolutely no flavor, and to top it off I asked most things to have onion/ cilantro on the side and those notes were completely ignored. I had to pick them out to feed my kids. I tried a bite of all of the food and sure enough every single one, NO FLAVOR! I had to get my salsa and jalapeños from home for it to be a decent meal. Inside is casual, clean, bright, and colorful with ample seating. They also have a drive thru. Menu offers daily special, breakfast and dinner plates, tacos, combo, burritos, quesadillas, la gringa, taquitos, tortas, nachos, mexican street corn, dessert, and refreshments. Chicken Enchilada Plate ($9.99) is very filling and delicious! It's three savory enchiladas served with fluffy Mexican rice, refried beans, a small salad of fresh lettuce, diced tomatoes, sour cream, and green salsa. I also had a side of crispy fries ($2.50) which is excellent! For dessert, Arroz con Leche ($3.95) is creamy and good, and I Iove Carrot Cake ($3.95), it's amazing! The cake is moist and has a light cream cheese icing that's yummy and not too sweet. Agua Fresca Mango (large, $3.99) is refreshing! And mind you, this is for a tiny 2 bite CHICKEN street taco, I can go next door to cafe rio now for a full size taco for less. The burrito was good, rice beans and meat was good, no nerves or fat either which I was happy about. Horchata was good too and they filled the cup and not just of ice. I only wish they gave more salsa, I got a burrito and got one small half filled green salsa, which was really good, but not enough for the chips let alone a burrito (thankfully I asked to try the red so I had a bit more). Both salsas were about the same in spicy but not overpowering. It was Cinco de Mayo and I was craving REAL tacos...used my YELP app and BAM! Up comes up Mas Takos. All I wanted was carne asada at the time. So I ordered the 3 tacos and horchata. Spent less than 12 bucks. Well worth it!! Carne was seasoned well and was tender. Perfect plate. They even added some corn chips. It went well with my horchata. I definitely want to come back to try the chicken and Al pastor. Ambiance was chill. You can walk in, order, and sit down. Service was quick which I like when I'm in a hurry. I would have never thought to come in to Mas Takos. I've seen this building as a few other restaurant incarnations over the years but it seems as if Mas Takos has been here for a pretty good amount of time now so hopefully they are here to stay. The only reason we came in was because we met some new friends and they invited us to share a meal with them before crossing the street to play some neeeerd games. Thankfully, this place exceeded expectations and we are looking forward to coming back in. Walking in, the place is clean and well decorated. Unfortunately, it had been raining pretty hard and part of the dining room was a bit closed off because the ceiling was leaking but they seemed to be very clean about the whole situation. Ordering was interesting because my bf wasn't ready when we came up and the girl was highly irritated but she was also fairly nice so no real complaints there. The only real complaint I guess I would have is that there are napkins on the tables but the cutlery has to be given to you when you get your food. That was a bit annoying because we didn't get enough all around and had to wait in line again just to get a single fork. Also, the salsas kind of took a long time to get to us. The food was pretty good for quick dining. My mans gringo burrito was excellent and it's definitely what I'm going to order the next time we come in. My tacos were good but very dry. Thankfully, I was able to add salsa when it finally came. Even though it was dry, the flavors were good. I don't think I'd get the plate/combo again, as I thought the beans and rice were a bit bland but I'd try the tacos again, especially with the really good salsa verde. read more

I used to love this place, food was fresh, taste was amazing and it was always hot upon receipt of delivery. I've order from this place about six times, my last three orders were not up to standard. The food was cold, tasteless and disappointing. I placed an order this evening via door dash, my order was completely wrong, like they don't even read the notes on the order, at all. I ordered a Gringo Burrito, no pico, asada meat, cheese and guac. I received a Mexican burrito w beans, rice, pico, cheese and NO meat. I was absolutely disappointed and totally lost my appetite after biting into that burrito, it was cold, they didn't give me ANY green sauce, my asada tacos were cold, dry and the shells were hard at the tip as if the tacos had been sitting out for a couple hours. It was an overall discouraging experience, I told myself on the 2/3 last orders that if this one wasn't reminiscent of my first three orders I wouldn't continue business with them, and it wasn't so I will stay true to myself. Do not eat here, the customer service is deplorable, this little 18yr old girl with a bad attitude that takes the orders at the restaurant CLEARLY doesn't want to be there and does not care about proper service. As of recent, the food has been completely tasteless and cold. Apparently they only seem to get it right when you eat at the actual restaurant vs ordering delivery, however, you'll have to deal with their horrible customer service, so keep that in mind. Check attached photo for the horrible burrito, don't mind the ashes as I decided to use it as an ashtray so it would at least serve a purpose since my money was wasted on an item I did not order. Mas Takos is a solid spot for inexpensive, quick Mexican food. They even have a drive-thru! I had long given up on trying businesses in this location because of the frequent turnover. The employee that took my order was friendly and was diligent about verifying my order. Kudos to the employees preparing the food for fast preparation. I was third in line and was in and out in a few minutes. All of the tacos had nicely seasoned meats with raw onions and cilantro. They were street taco size with all meats costing only $0.99 or $1.95. We enjoyed the Chorizo, Carnitas, Al Pastor, and Carne Asada. The Pambazo Torta (chorizo and potato) was very tasty. This was a great combination of flavors and the bread was fresh. The Mexican Street Corn in a cup was just okay. The mayo sauce wasn't very flavorful. The medium red salsa and green salsa were both fairly spicy and delicious. The value here is great. Four tacos, a torta, and a cup of corn came to less than $20. This is my go-to Mexican place whenever I'm anywhere near this part of town. Consistently excellent food at very reasonable prices. For me, this beats Roberto's or any of the other quick Mexican places in town - save only food trucks, perhaps. The Gringo Burrito is my favorite - but the Enchiladas Mole are fantastic! Like any of the better South-of-the-Border eateries in town, it seems to be mostly folks of Mexican origin working here - which is always a good sign.
