If you want great views just like the Duryea's in Montauk, with a OUTSTANDING service this is the place! the bartender James has the perfect personality with attention to detail, could be one of the main reasons you want to return over and over. Vanessa is equally the same. They both assisted each other with ease. James mixed pitchers of exotic libations like fresh cucumber juice, vodka, and a splash of seltzer. Healthy choice. Fresh strawberry margarita was sensational Julie and Sebastian keep a keen eye on their guests to make sure everyone at this seaside eatery is being taken care of with great attention. Tomato salad is fantastic (enough for 2-4 to split) grilled octopus, great flavor and nice char, definitely try the salt shrimp (very unique in a black skillet) great flavor, great burgers and fries too. DURYEA's is a name long associated with seafood in Montauk. I had heard they opened in ORIENT and was looking forward to a great dinner. I was also meeting with good friends. I had known the previous restaurant, so I know the view would be great. As we sit down we are handed a piece of paper that appears to be a menu.You are supposed to check off what you want for dinner , and then get up and go to the cashier and pay. WHAT THE HELL IS THIS? I'm out for dinner with good friends, I want to relax, not fill out a crossword puzzle, not get up and sing for my supper. How about a drink? Good luck. You can only order a pitcher of drinks. If the stars are aligned, you hope everyone at the table will enjoy the same drink. A pitcher of Rum Punch? $85.00. The waitress { and I use the term loosely} explains you get six drinks. The pitcher is loaded with ice cubes, which results in a whopping four and a half drinks. NEXT UP. DINNER. We order and have to get up and pay at the cashier, a surly , pushy, piece of work. The least you could expect from along established seafood place is a great lobster roll, especially at $42.00. The lobster rolls arrive, but everyone else's order does not. Until, 30 minutes later. EVERYTHING was horrible. The thought of a doggy bag was an insult to any animal, much less a human being. I work in the restaurant business, live in NY, and the Hamptons and have also lived for 15 years on the North Folk. This place is a first class CLIP JOINT. The manager, Julie, was super nasty to us when we asked her a simple question. My family and I noticed she runs around like she's busy but really all she has in her hands is her phone and a glass of wine, which she drinks out of a water cup. It's funny she thinks customers won't notice. Terrible "restaurant" with bad vibes. It's like they tried to make an upscale McDonald's. First, we had to take a pencil and piece of paper, get up, order at a cashier window, pay all at once and then expect to tip for service we haven't received yet. Every time someone at my table wanted another soft beverage or a beer I had to get up and serve myself. I don't know why the employees are even there. It seems to me that they are only there for decoration to try and hide the fact that this restaurant is so terribly put together. Do yourself a favor and skip the visit here. Waste of time read more

So glad they opened again in Orient this summer. The atmosphere is beautiful and the food is delicious. The service is friendly and attentive and the whole thing is just an amazingly pleasant experience. You feel transported to the Mediterranean. Not only did we spend $600 for 2 lobster rolls and 4 salads, we were asked to leave before we finished eating. NOT TO MENTION, we were celebrating my elderly fathers 80th birthday and when I asked to be accommodated with accessible seating, I got looked at like I had two heads. The staff is rude and nasty including the manager. Funny how they stared me down as I walked out. Real coincidence. Save your money. Go to Claudios. I am giving this 4 stars based on the food and hospitality. Everything we tasted was exceptional and the staff were very nice. I can't say the same about the former owners or the food so I have to say there are improvements here in those areas I wish my small terrier was able to eat on the deck but they did accommodate us in the outside lounge. As far as cost...it was very high number. Too high. We ordered a bottle of wine which was market priced. The food was quite expensive though. The concept itself I am just not into. Not that good. The whole process of checking off your order on paper order sheet, delivering to staff yourself and prepaying is a little over the top. And prepaying tip too?? Waiter delivered our food and we did not even understand what was for who as he delivered a tower of seafood. Our order was combined on the tower. Who knew as it was our first time there. Beautiful setting. The food was good but overpriced in my view. Markup on wines seemed excessive. This restaurant strives to be chic and upmarket, but when you charge a flat $6 cover for water AND you require customers to pay their bills before they even start their meals, I believe that you take the wrong path: the only place where I am asked to pay upfront is Burger King; as to the water charge, all it does is encourage customers to leave a lower tip. This review is for the beach club. I was so hesitant in coming here with all the horrible reviews I read. But again, 2 chairs , umbrella,and waterfront... I read so many comments about rude staff. We were literally greeted by every waiter/waitress with a welcome. They were so warm and inviting. We were Anticipating high prices with rude service. But we were pleasantly surprised. The skewers were off the charts. Octopus, shishito peppers, corn. Soooooooo Gewd!! Ok, lobster sliders were pricey but I had my feet in the sand with a cocktail, getting a tan listening to great music. It was delicious and I was happy to pay for it. Server forgot a few thinks but it's the type of place where it doesn't matter. I'm drinking in the sun! And that's what I went for! They didn't rush us at all, it was much appreciated. And love shack fancy was a pop up! Greatest afternoon ever! These bad reviews must be be from those that don't understand there is a price to pay to dine at the beach. Good real estate. First time at this restaurant. Very nice decor inside and out but I won't be returning unless major changes are made. Service was less than impressive. We were charged $4 for bottles of tap water which were constantly empty. On this blazing hot day, we asked for ice which we never got. Food is ordered "market style" where you go to a window to order and then your order is brought to your table. My "gyro" was more or less DIY with all the ingredients placed around the plate. I think they are going for an upscale European vibe, but the food is extremely overpriced for the portions and quality. If you order something that is "market price" my advice is to be sure what that is, one person in my party who owns a restaurant himself, got major sticker shock for again, average food. read more

It's pretty simple. Go for the view. Go for the ambience Simply spectacular. Kind of a cool vibe. Wish there was a bar but only beer or wine. Water is good but pricey - even Michelin Star restaurants give free water. Food is not only overpriced, and by overpriced I mean like overpriced, but it really is not good. Period. I would say that it was around the same price point of a meal I recently had in Capri at one of their top restaurants - and the difference was I still dream about the meal in Capri and honestly, this might have been the most disappointing meal at that price I have ever had. Will we go back - probably - perhaps the beach club or just cocktails - it is that visually amazing, but will never eat there again. And forget the service - we were six people and we laughed the entire time at the pomp and circumstances, the staff chit chatting with each other - ignoring the clients - on their phones. We've been to the restaurant a few times with previous owner and it was always welcoming with good food and good service. The renovations are nice but didn't care for market style ordering. The food was extremely overpriced and the quality definitely was lacking. Be sure to ask $$ on anything that's listed as MP. Hot Lobster rolls were not hot and came with over cooked chips for a hefty price of $34. The $4.00 charge for tap water is ridiculous especially since it was consistently empty and the ice we asked for never came. We do enjoy the boat ride there but definitely won't be returning anytime soon. read more

Beyond disappointed. It's clear they are catering to a wealthy crowd who are there for the scene an don't care or appreciate quality. I expected to pay outrageous prices and was willing to do that, but I assumed I'd receive a high-end dining experience. I had to fill out my order on a paper menu, walk it to a pay station, pay in full and tip before I was served - that is a low-end beach bar experience. At $31 for a melon salad, $38 for a lobster roll (that was terrible), $6 for tap water and $88 for a lobster pasta, I'm stunned at how awful the food was. I returned my lobster roll after one bite - it was soggy and fishy and is served with soggy sweet potato chips as a side. There is no option to order a drink other than what is on the menu and those are only served in pitchers (except beer and wine). My husband asked for a drink and was told, "sorry". The hostess credited both of our meals, which I appreciated, but I have the feeling the staff is used to people walking away unhappy. I know I'm going to be blasted for this, but the old restaurant was not self-impressed, the food was decent, you could get whatever you wanted to drink, and you were served from start to finish, all at a fair price. I will never go back - as a ten-year resident, this place is a terrible representation of the North Fork. How this business model survives is beyond me - I guess the owner's rich friends are the ones giving him a five-star rating. Stay away!! read more

A great marina location killed bringing thr worst ofthe southfork to the northfork. Food meh, prices outrageous. But the worst part for me the blasting booming horrible music that destroyed the tranquil seaside setting. And nobody cared when I complained. Will never go back! read more
