    American cutlet sandwich

A small, casual sandwich local chain that hits the spot Tony Boys has cutlet sandwiches, cold and hot subs, ribeye cheesesteaks, chopped salads, milkshakes, cookies and chips. We stopped in for a quick bite and enjoyed the tuna melt and the American chicken cutlet (both $13.50). The bread was borderline not soft enough and the chicken cutlet slightly dry but the sandwiches were filled nicely. Service was not quick but we were ok with that, if it was made with care. There are a few tables but plenty of takeout orders. It's located not too far from other restaurants and shops and there's street parking.

Grilled Chicken cutlet, mozzarella, and roasted peppers. Great add on options. I chose cooked onions and it was delicious. Good size sandwich. Marisa lemonade is refreshing. I'm getting two with my next order.

Well let me start with the parking situation is terrible which is not unusual to Montclair. Be sure to park in the parking deck or be certain to get a nice little white gift (parking violation). I ordered the chicken cutlet "Murph" and the Brooklyn Cheese steak. I felt the price point of $34 for two sandwiches was expensive however, after getting the crazy large sandwiches I see why they cost so much. The Brooklyn could use more meat and the Murph was pretty stuffed. I recommend getting one sandwich and share as they are pretty large. The bread is exceptional and tastes like it's from my favorite in town bakery (Nicolo's). I did have a small piece of bacon in my cheese steak but I'm sure it was in error. Translated, please make sure the grills are cleaned in between orders #staff. Great embracement of MONTCLAIR MOUNTIES with the custom wall paper. Overall, it's worth a try.

Philly sliced Cheesesteak with peppers and sautéed onions , ricotta cheese , mozzarella cheese , and chipotle mayo,I would give it a 8/10

Quick friendly service, decent price. Parking is a bit rough . I give it an overall 7.5/10 . Will definitely recommend and go again for sure .

Tried Tony Boys for the first time today. I got the tuna melt and the cheese was perfectly melted. The sandwich was also a hearty sandwich and had a generous amount of tuna and other toppings. I ordered ahead and it was ready for pick up at the time indicated. My brief encounter with the person behind the counter was friendly.

Welcome to Montclair Tony Boys! Had the pleasure of stopping by here yesterday to try out one of many sandwich options on their menu. Opted for the avocado toast & a side of fries & it didn't disappoint. Was filling without being too heavy & very tasty! The fries were also not oily or greasy. Browsing the menu you'll find alot of different flavors & combos...and the manager also shared that all the cutlet options can be created with an eggplant substitute! Definitely give this place a try. The vibe is chill & artsy, lots of seating, great central location & 3 parking lots within a 5 min walk. You definitely won't regret it :)

I got the Drunk and really enjoyed it. I love anything with vodka sauce so I was excited to see it on the menu. I found it to be way too saucy and soggy when I was eating. The bread was falling apart and the sauce was just so watery it was spilling everywhere. I saved the second half for the next day and I enjoyed it a lot more then. $13 for this, pretty reasonable! I'll be back.

    The Melt

Under hot sandwiches is the melt. It is not a hot sandwich just slightly melted cheese. I would have just ordered a tuna sandwich then get this as I was looking forward to warm food. A tuna sandwich would have at least had the lettuce, tomatoes and onions rather than this. This is my second time here and I'd say it's ok but misleading for that listing. PS I did ask why it's not hot and the staff told me it's a cold sandwich with melted cheese

We brought it back home and the cutlet was still plenty warm and the romaine was cold and crunchy. My coworker and boyfriend suggest getting some extra Caesar dressing on the side for dipping. The place was cutie pie - I liked that they were playing good music and had a silly book of animals I could browse at while I waited for the food to be ready. There was an altercation of two couples yelling at each-other and causing a fuss. Lowkey I wish the manager would have refused service to all 4 of them because why were they being absolutely terrible at 1pm on a Saturday. Not kicking them out promotes they can act like that and have no repercussions. But anywho guess the sandwiches are worth fighting over. I will be returning!

The size is so much bigger in person vs. shown online, so come hungry or be prepared to pack leftovers. They're a bit hard to eat like a sandwich so we had to use a fork and knife to cut it up into smaller pieces. I can see why people get a side order of dressing as it could be a bit dry - would recommend doing so (some people get buffalo sauce).

When I told him "hey, I'll be quick, I'm just running in to grab a drink" and I'm legit in a hurry because my car is idling outside, he raises his voice and yells at me and THEN instructs his staff not to serve me. Disrespectful. And I won't be back. I'll also make sure that Montclair's council hears about my experience, and everybody in nearby towns. It's not my first time hearing of their trash treatment of Black & Brown people, but I now know what those who have reported before me, experienced. I'll also be talking to Montclair PD about what my options are, since he grabbed me.

Anthony, if you read this, you seriously need to check what's happening at this location. You either need to replace some of these employees or take their phones away, because they seem far more interested in being on their phones than preparing customers' orders. And don't even get me started on the customer service. It's practically nonexistent. There is no sense of urgency, no accountability, and no respect for people's time. Customers shouldn't have to stand around watching employees ignore them while orders pile up. I've known the history of Tony Boys Sandwiches and Anthony for years, which makes it even more frustrating to watch this location decline. It's hard to believe this is the standard that's now being accepted. Poor management, unprofessional employees, constant mistakes, and a complete lack of accountability are driving loyal customers away. A successful business depends on discipline, customer service, and competent staff--not employees who seem more interested in their phones than doing their jobs. Anthony, if you care about your reputation, it's time to clean house and restore the standards that built this business. This location needs a complete reset. .
