Good pizza! We had this doordashed and really enjoyed it. They have an unusually cool and eccentric menu for pizza!

I cannot rate this place. We couldn't dine here. First, the one handicapped parking stall was blocked by the restaurants dumpster. We managed to nose our truck into the stall with a bit less room and walked around to the front entrance. Our disabled son has a service dog. She happens to be a standard Poodle that is clearly tagged, working-dog vested in hi-viz optic yellow with 'Service Dog' patches clearly worn and tethered to our son with a matching hi-viz short traffic lead. Imagine our surprise when walking into the restaurant we were told by the woman at the register that the dog was not allowed inside. We would have to put the dog outside on a hook. We politely countered, gesturing to the dog and explaining that as a service dog, she was legally allowed inside, to which the woman again stated that the dog would have to remain outside. On a hook... We chose rather than continue to waste time trying to get a seat or even place an order, to simply leave. We would spend our money elsewhere. FYI: California Vehicle Code - VEH § 22507.8 states that it is unlawful to block the access or use of the handicapped parking like that: https://codes.findlaw.com/ca/vehicle-code/veh-sect-22507-8/ And the ADA has clear direction about service animals and their permitted access in a restaurant setting: https://www.ada.gov/resources/service-animals-2010-requirements/ These are very real legal issues. And we feel that the staff member made a choice to discriminate against us. Rather than raise a complaint with Humboldt County, we just won't return to this place, nor will we recommend eating here. read more

Service was all good, nothing exceptional nor poor, I ordered for takeout. I got a large pepperoni and sausage on a cheese pizza; The bread/crust/dough was fine, about a 4-5/10. Not much flavor, texture was fine. Cheese was also okay, 5/10. Didn't stand out by any means but didn't taste inherently bad. Pepperoni and sausage was fine, 5/10. Definitely not great but not terrible. Overall very underwhelming, I'd prefer dominos for 1/3 the price, and definitely most other chains at the same price. Next day reheating via microwave after refrigeration; bread/dough was soggy, everything tasted similarly underwhelming but a bit more so. read more

Pizza was good, I liked the sauce and pepperoni a lot. Crust was meh. But order was ion time for pickup and price was very good for the size so I'd order from them again but partly because not a ton of options in Arcata. read more

I love this place, I usually get the Trenton with added pepperoni and basil or the yeti. This has happened twice now where they've forgotten the basil, which is annoying since it costs $2..... they're not checking boxes before they get sent out? I always get takeout so I can't say much about ambience. read more

This place has free street parking which usually isn't a problem. I love the pizza by the slice option, but I wish you could do pizza by the slice for any of the pizzas; it is limited to different pizzas each day and they don't post that anywhere online. Would be nice to know what by the slice options they have before going in. I have also found the people working there to be not be very friendly. But those things aside, the pizza is super good. It has thin crust but isn't too crispy or hard. Our favorite is the hot goat pizza. It is so so good - creamy, sweet, some spicy heat. It's an amazing pizza. read more

Solid spot in Arcata! While staying in Arcata and exploring the area, we were always lookign for outdoor spots and ones that came recommended. I thought from the way one side of the building looked they should have more outdoor seating, but they just had two tables in front of the place. I hope more places can keep or expand their outdoor seating since the pandemic is stubbornly still here. The service was friendly - we ordered at the bar and then sat outside and they brought our pizzas out. I got a vegan pie and partner got a pizza w peppers and meat. Delicious and the vegan cheese was quite good. We enjoyed a sunny afternoon soaking up the rays with a brew and simple pizza - not really sure what else we needed! There was also a place to charge an e-vehicle nearby (we had a rental that happened to be electric hybrid) but it didn't get too charged during our hour or so there! read more

It was amazing good. When I looked at the photos people posted, I couldn't understand why the local pizza place has a good rating. However, since my kids love pizza and had been asking for the past few days, I didn't mind to give a try. The small restaurant offers local beers. The spinach salad caught my eyes as well, I ordered a 12 inches cheese pizza for my kids and 12 pieces buffalo wings I could snack. Ending up we finished all the food (yes, the 4 items I mentioned). plus 2 extra slices cheese pizza for my little ones after the 12 inches cheese pie. (Wow, they must like the cheese pizza super very much, and they are in their 4 and 6 years old, I was astonished). Food came out good, crust was perfect, dressing for spinach salad wasn't heavy at all, the pine beer during happy hours (4-5pm) was my reward after the whole day walking around the national park. If you are the tourist to Redwood National Park, I would recommend here. Just stop by with a big slice of pizza with a local beer, I bet the treat will make your day ends happily. read more

We had just driven into Arcata and hungry but not sure what to eat. It was after 8pm and most places were already closed. Pizza was something we could agree on, so we ended up at Dutchy's. We pulled up to the storefront. It is nothing fancy and very much a pizza joint. The staff person greeted us and gave us a few minutes to browse the menu. We decided to go with a 12" Hot Goat. We sat on one of the two outdoor benches and waited about 10 minutes for the food to come out. Initially, I thought it might be too small, but since we were traveling, it was perfect to two adults (no leftovers). The flavors were tasty and you can definitely taste the honey. I probably could have done without the onion and might suggest subbing with garlic, but that's just me. I also found that the pizza suffered from a slight soggy bottom, so assistance from a fork was needed. Overall, I great experience for our short trip in Arcata! read more

Great pizza, decent service, waited way too long for our food to come out. We came here specifically for the Hot Goat pizza recommended by a co-worker. It's basically a cheese bread with goat cheese, ricotta, spinach, onions and some other stuff with a light honey drizzle on top. This pizza is as good as it sounds, not just hype. It took an hour for our food to come to our table after we placed our order. The cashier who took our order seemed to be in an irritated mood. There's television in the restaurant if you fancy sports. It's a clean restaurant with clean facilities, good for smaller groups. With the service and long wait time, I recommend ordering for pick up. Order the Hot Goat Pizza and pick up a bottle of your favorite white, you won't regret it. read more

When I first came here I had the hot goat which was amazing and probably the best thing they have. This time I made my own pizza and I was literally impressed by how thin the toppings were! I thought they forgot the sausage until the dood dug around to find it....I've never had to search for pizza toppings. I'm super curious how much sausage was actually used on my pizza. I ate one of the flakes solo, it was so thin it had the essence of salt (not even meat taste, not enough meat to taste). The best bite was the first bite on some slices because they made a small pile of like 6 flakes of sausage in the middle haha. The veggies were also thin sliced but had a decent amount of green bells, tons of olives, and a meh amount of thiiiin mushrooms. I legit thought the sausage flakes where just burnt cheese. I was the Assistant manager at Papa John's, way better pizza for half the cost. At PJs we don't put toppings in the small center of the pizza because it would be too heavy and cause them all to fall off. Here the toppings are so thin it doesn't matter, it would be impossible for it to be heavy enough to fall off. Like I said there was a pile of sausage flakes in the middle which was the best part. I would only come back for the Hot Goat, I make better pizzas for half the cost at home. Sad read more

I got a little flustered over the difference between a medium pizza and a 12-inch pizza. I learned there is no universal "small," "medium," "large" with pizza. A medium could be whatever-inch the restaurant makes it. My social skills have declined in the last decade and more rapidly in the last few years. Ordered on the phone, came to pick it up, was ready super fast, loved that they have a water bowl outside for the pups, and there was a very nice guy at the counter. The pizza itself though, wow so much oil. I couldn't eat more than about half a slice and my partner powered through at least three but then regretted it later and spent the evening suffering from it. Cool little corner drive up pizza shop, that can be packed during school sessions. Great pizza is why and the prices are good to cheap by comparison. They're Hot Goat with bacon is an awesome pie, loaded with goat cheese, hot honey and bacon and it's freakin great - if you like goat cheese and spicy sweet you'll like this one! They run lunch specials daily and it's always a good cheap meal. Also specials on pizzas every day, and now after 5 pm they will even deliver it to you within a certain distance, fortunately for me we're inside that circle! A great delivery service too we've called them a few times now and always delivered before promised time. The walk in dine in side opened not to long ago and now you can enjoy you pizza or slice right there.
