The service is alright, but some workers are extremely rude. Ambiance was DISGUSTING there was grease on the sinks, poop on the TOILETS!? I came here twice while visiting the area and tried the vegan margarita pizza as well as the normal vegan cheese pizza with red sauce and I added some toppings. Both were delicious! You can get a large 18 inch pizza with vegan cheese and really perfectly cooked crust for a reasonable price here. I will be back and I am grateful for this vegan pizza paradise! My only wish is they would have vegan breadsticks offered too since it wouldn't be hard to do. read more

Great deals, great food, a great time! We ordered a slice of cheese and two slices of pepperoni. With the lunch time deal we got a dollar off any drink, including beer, with the order of any two slices. The pizza had a thin crispy crust and a nice sauce. Great portion of cheese and pepperoni. They also offer full size pizzas at 12 inch and 18 inch. There is a bar and a few tables with a couple televisions. The man working was patient and generally friendly. Fantastic pizza. We had the Hot Goat, which was the suggestion of my sister-in-law, a recent grad from nearby Humboldt State -- aka an in-the-know local who was soon leaving Arcata and sad that it was possibly her last time having this pie from Dutchy's. Add in the fact that I was half-stoned (hey it's Humboldt and it's legal now) so I wasn't paying too much attention to what was going on. But when the Hot Goat arrived, well, it was pretty stellar. The goat part is goat cheese and the hot part is spicy honey, which was drizzled on top. It was sweet, savory, gooey. Then the subtle spice from the honey hits and you're like, whoa man! Mind blown. This pizza rules. Huhuhuh. Seriously though, it was some damn good pizza no matter your state of mind. I'm actually sad that I'll probably never be back to Arcata to try it again. I kinda guessed what it meant when placing my online order and the pizza came with a perfectly charred crust and top, just how I like it. I've never seen this option before and I think I have found my new go to pizza parlor for Arcata. It is a little spendy but sometimes you get what you pay for. For what's its worth, I got a cheese pizza and added pineapple, jalapeño, and black olives. Best vegan pizza EVER! I literally have driven all the way to Brookings Oregon before to get Zola's vegan pizza. I was so happy to find out that Dutchy's offers vegan options for an awesome price! Great location, great pizza, and reasonable prices. I'll take it! Popped in with a pup the other day, and it turns out this place is also very pet-friendly, so that's a plus. There's water provided, and a dog leash cleat. Dutchy himself even came out and gave the dog a treat! The lunch special is a pretty good deal, especially given that you can apply the discount to beer. Two slices of pizza and a beer? Man it's hard to beat that. Interior is nice, clean and open. Every experience I've had at this establishment has been extremely bad due to the employees. Here is just one of my bad experiences. I showed up at dutchy's with some friends, we walked up to the counter to order but we were only greeted with bad attitude. The person helping us seemed to like to roll their eyes rather than hurry up and get our order in. After we were FINALLY done ordering we went to sit down and waited 40 minutes and finally got our pizza. And it was BURNT like EXTREMELY BURNT like they cooked it for 2 hours too long. I never write these, but I felt like I had to in this case. Let me start out by saying that I like their pizza; this is a negative post because of a bad experience. I called ahead of time and asked if it was okay if I brought some people in for a game night. The person on the phone said it was fine. When we get there, my friends and I all order food. They order a few slices and a sandwich, I order a whole pizza to share since I'm hosting the game night. I ask if we can move a couple of tables together, and they tell me no. I say that's fine, that I'll just take my pizza to go and go play somewhere else when it's ready. My three friends and I sit down at a table and start playing a game while we wait. We are approached by a kid who works there telling us that he thought that we agreed we weren't going to be playing games and that the dining area is reserved for dining. My friends were eating their slices and I was waiting on my pizza. We were paying customers, and we were told that we couldn't play a game on a single table that we were eating at. It made for a very negative experience and pretty much felt like he was kicking us out. I will be boycotting this place from now on and telling everyone I know to do the same. read more
