Receipt showing I should have gotten basil
    Cindy C.

I love this place, I usually get the Trenton with added pepperoni and basil or the yeti. This has happened twice now where they've forgotten the basil, which is annoying since it costs $2..... they're not checking boxes before they get sent out? I always get takeout so I can't say much about ambience.

This place has free street parking which usually isn't a problem. I love the pizza by the slice option, but I wish you could do pizza by the slice for any of the pizzas; it is limited to different pizzas each day and they don't post that anywhere online. Would be nice to know what by the slice options they have before going in. I have also found the people working there to be not be very friendly. But those things aside, the pizza is super good. It has thin crust but isn't too crispy or hard. Our favorite is the hot goat pizza. It is so so good - creamy, sweet, some spicy heat. It's an amazing pizza.

So bomb, great local pizza. My current favorites are the Bigfoot and Hot Goat. Unique flavor combos and convenient location in the middle of town. I think they only offer take out currently, worth it. Pizza was so good I ate half of it before I could stop to take a photo

Solid spot in Arcata! While staying in Arcata and exploring the area, we were always lookign for outdoor spots and ones that came recommended. I thought from the way one side of the building looked they should have more outdoor seating, but they just had two tables in front of the place. I hope more places can keep or expand their outdoor seating since the pandemic is stubbornly still here. The service was friendly - we ordered at the bar and then sat outside and they brought our pizzas out. I got a vegan pie and partner got a pizza w peppers and meat. Delicious and the vegan cheese was quite good. We enjoyed a sunny afternoon soaking up the rays with a brew and simple pizza - not really sure what else we needed! There was also a place to charge an e-vehicle nearby (we had a rental that happened to be electric hybrid) but it didn't get too charged during our hour or so there!

Awesome pizza!! Had the Yeti and it was delicious. The crust was thinner (not bulky) in the best way and it totally works with the pizza. Had just the right amount of crisp while also being chewy-super satisfying! The toppings were on-point, sauce was good and the pizza was really well baked. Fast, flawless order and nice staff. Would definitely order from here again!

Stopped by on our way to Redwood National Park and got a pizza and a ceasar salad. The service was fast, everyone was very nice, our food was served in less than 10 minutes, which was great. The pizza was alright and the salad was really really delicious!

We had just driven into Arcata and hungry but not sure what to eat. It was after 8pm and most places were already closed. Pizza was something we could agree on, so we ended up at Dutchy's. We pulled up to the storefront. It is nothing fancy and very much a pizza joint. The staff person greeted us and gave us a few minutes to browse the menu. We decided to go with a 12" Hot Goat. We sat on one of the two outdoor benches and waited about 10 minutes for the food to come out. Initially, I thought it might be too small, but since we were traveling, it was perfect to two adults (no leftovers). The flavors were tasty and you can definitely taste the honey. I probably could have done without the onion and might suggest subbing with garlic, but that's just me. I also found that the pizza suffered from a slight soggy bottom, so assistance from a fork was needed. Overall, I great experience for our short trip in Arcata!

Incredible pizza, the crust was perfectly doughy as well as crisp. The wings were perfectly cooked & seasoned & the green salad was lush and so tasty. I'm just driving through, but have booked marked it for another trip! You're the best Dutchys!

Dutchy's pizza is my favorite pizza spot, but they have sold it to tandoori bites. They're closing in March, and I'm so bummed

    The hot goat
    Shelly C.

Great pizza, decent service, waited way too long for our food to come out. We came here specifically for the Hot Goat pizza recommended by a co-worker. It's basically a cheese bread with goat cheese, ricotta, spinach, onions and some other stuff with a light honey drizzle on top. This pizza is as good as it sounds, not just hype. It took an hour for our food to come to our table after we placed our order. The cashier who took our order seemed to be in an irritated mood. There's television in the restaurant if you fancy sports. It's a clean restaurant with clean facilities, good for smaller groups. With the service and long wait time, I recommend ordering for pick up. Order the Hot Goat Pizza and pick up a bottle of your favorite white, you won't regret it.

First time in, just had a slice of the white pie to go, it was warm and very yummy. The place looked clean and cute. I'll be back.

The pizza is really good here and affordable. The garlic bread could use more garlic but is still good and better if you get it with cheese.

Went back on 9-17-23. Pizza was much better than our previous visit a year ago. Ordered a Caesar…read moresalad, two slices, and garlic knots. Slices and knots came out first which is odd (usually it's salad first). I went to the counter and asked if they could make the salad to go since it was taking a while and also asked if they could put the dressing on the side so it wouldn't get soggy. Well, we finished our meal, our salad was delivered to the table and of course, no dressing on the side so it was soggy by the time we got back to our home. Had to throw it out. Sauce for the garlic knots was ice cold (just out of the refrigerator) and here's a hint...serve warm sauce with knots or mozz stix. It's not rocket science. Overall, the pizza is exactly what I would expect for NY style if I were in NY or NJ. Staff still needs some more training in customer service.

It's…read morewell-staffed, the presentation of the pies is decent enough, and there's a rotating menu that changes each day. I tried the La Bruchetta slice and a more generic pepperoni slice. Their pepperoni was greasy, but not overwhelming, though it was pretty densely salted which off set the flavor profile of their sauce. I wouldn't say it was spectacular, though their La Bruchetta was exemplary. The sauce was flavorful, the crust had integrity, and it had a manageable amount of grease. The cheese was thin, as was the crust, but this is what you'd expect if a pizza joint that styles itself after New York. The ambience is typical of a dedicated pizza joint; the seating is a bit plain, not much going on in terms of music, but it's carried by other patrons and their interesting conversations. The staff is polite enough, but you can tell they get overwhelmed by all the patronage they receive, so don't expect to make small talk. Overall, it's a middle of the road experience. The flavors are good, for their specialty pizzas anyway, and the culture surrounding the restaurant is exceptional for a Cali pizza place. Very good for a relatively small college town in the Pacific Northwest. I'd recommend going at least once.

The meat was moist and tasty and well dressed with 1000 island, lettuce, tomatoes, and grilled onions. We got buns that had no sesame seeds, which did not disappoint us. I had the cheese and garlic fries. I thought they were a bit pricey, but the order was a decent sized portion that four of us shared. The garlic was sharp and tangy, and appeared to be raw. The cheese was more like a "nacho" cheese consistency. If I had to do it again, I would ask if there was an alternate type of cheese. The side salad was generous and fresh, with the standard dressing options (balsamic, ranch, honey mustard). We asked for the dressing on the side and they were okay with it. The cup of tomato basil soup was generous and tasty. This is an "order, pay, and pick up food" place. So, if you are eating in, have someone grab a table if it's crowded. We placed our orders, paid and gave a name for the order. We were later in the day, so there were tables available. Our name was called and we got up to pick up the food. There are metal forks and spoons (also plastic), napkins, and condiments across from the beverage machine. Burgers are served in baskets, the salads came in not-paper bowls, and the soup was in a melamine cup. The staff was friendly and efficient in an open seating set-up. We bussed our own plates.

I forget the owner's name..begins with a P I think ....anyway very hard worker who puts his head and heart into producing his products. They do catering too..i looked it up on FB or Instagram and was amazed at how many other things he makes and how delicious it also looked. I'd give 6 stars if that was an option and they had some oregano or other herbs on the side to put on pizza if we like ...pizza places in general used to do that and haven't seen it anywhere. Oregano is easy to grow. Some might find it pricy for the lightness of the pizza so if you need a hearty meal their pizza might not do it for you. I have only had their pizza at the farmers market and it tastes so good i have to use will power not to eat the whole thing . I save half for the next day and sometimes add an egg on it for breakfast. Reheating in cast iron pan brings the crust back to life and I don't put it in the frig overnight to also keep the crust good and i turn the pizza upside down so crust not soggy but with his pizza no much chance of that cause he does some sort of dough magic that makes his crust hold and not soak up the toppings.
