I ordered the baja tacos to-go. They come with two fried fish tacos and a side salad. Ok the side salad has a simple but delicious vinegrette! This order was also so big I could've shared with another person. You would think two tacos and a small side salad is enough for one person but the tacos were HUGE! The service was great and attentive but most importantly they have FRESH & QUALITY seafood! They have salads, pastas, seafood boils, sandwiches and a decent kids menu. A must try if you are in the Bernal Heights area!

I had steamed mussels with fries. There were not enough mussels because they were huge and the sauce was more a broth and not at all flavorful enough. I usually love sopping up every last drop of the juice. But the really disappointing aspect of our dinner was the service. There were 3 people behind the service station. All of them need a training course on how to pay attention to paying customers. Instead they were all engrossed in private conversation with each other or with one particular customer. And one of the staff was simply intimidating, and very very loud. I suspected his behavior may have been chemically induced. Our waitress was very sweet, cheerful and helpful when we could catch her attention. But as I said a 15 minute training exercise each evening before starting work would work wonders. Like look around each customer every time you are not doing anything. And the more senior staff member was just uninterested and perhaps a little grumpy. So the food was blah, more flavor in the broth would help, and ok but at today's prices a "dinner out" has to be about more than just the food.

We had reservations at 6:30pm via Resy. *Seoul Crudo limited quantity per day *contains raw fish: hamachi crudo drizzled with sesame oil, beet, seasonal citrus (yuzu luxe and mandarin) cho-gochujang (gochujang vinaigrette), and topped with fresh mircogreens (cilantro, wasabi, spring onions) $25 This was one of my favorites! Wagyu Beef Tartare (YUKHOE): seaweed mayo aioli, fried scallion, grana padano, housemade potato chip $24 I would prefer it to be more chopped up. This was a miss for the whole table Perilla Oil Noodle *contains buckwheat: buckwheat noodle, roasted seaweed crumble, perilla oil, perilla leaves $19 Highly recommend Korean Popcorn KFC: kfc comes with yang' yum' sauce & housemade soy vin pickles $23 I enjoyed the soy vin pickles! Rigatoni Alla Kimchi Vodka: not-too-spicy rigatoni vodka with washed kimchi, bacon & cheese (add burrata +4) (can be made without bacon) $23 This was really good and flavorful! Pork Jowl Jeyuk (allow 20-30 mins to cook) : marinated in gochujang for 24 hours, slow grilled over charcoal, with salsa verde and tomato ssamjang Would definitely get this again with the ssam and they timed it perfectly where it didn't seemed long before they brought it out Injeolmi Banana Pana Cotta *contains soybean K-pana cotta with soybean, banana cream, sugar, eggs, gelatin $12 This was so good that we each bought one individually to go Makgeolli Flight $40

They recommended 2-3 dishes per person, we got 4 savory dishes and 1 dessert. Tteokbokki: spicy and sweet and a good staple, the rice cake was nice and chewy but honestly nothing crazy and a bit expensive so I wouldn't get this again I feel like I could get more umami ones from somewhere else. Perilla Oil Noodles: people might think this is boring but I actually loved it, very simple flavors, and it really brought out the nutty flavors of both the perilla leaf oil and the soba. Crudo: This was probably one of my favorites, very refreshing and the sauce was a slightly tangy, spicy and sweet korean sauce that's also very unique. It's not the typical just gochujang flavor but had more depth and I loved it. Pork Jowl: Okay this was ACTUALLY my favorite one. The pork jowl has the perfect chew and bite to it and wrapped in perilla leaf and lettuce, they also had 2 sauces that were very flavorful. Even this one is pretty unique. Banana bread panna cotta: Lovely light dessert that was strong banana flavor with some rice crumbles on top! Overall this is a great place for a social dinner I'd come back again!

Prudently, I'd rather traverse from the peninsula on a random Monday for some Gumbo. To say that I was pleasantly surprised was an understatement. The gumbo was seasoned perfectly. I noticed that the chicken is shredded presumably from a pressure cooker, which turns every bite into a mouthful of everything. Despite my best efforts to not be dramatic, one can tell the passion and soul that is put into this bowl of Gumbo. Though I do see some comments, and I agree, that the Gumbo is not thick enough, I don't really care for a heavy/dense gumbo. This bowl has sufficient structure absent the heavy dense roux, and it was exactly to my liking. Though I wish there was a touch more rice, my $6 Caltrain ticket (+tax and muni) was not spent in vain for this heartwarming bowl of gumbo, with a side of passion, defining what real soul food is.

I ordered a little bit of everything - chocolate, vanilla, blue corn, churro, and strawberry hibiscus. It was a bit of a bummer that my strawberry conchas didn't make it into the box. Not sure what happened - I was chatting with the cashier/concha server so maybe they were distracted. I also should have checked my order. The conchas were SOOOOO good. Very soft and fresh - not too sweet. The chocolate-y flavor wasn't really coming through to me. And the vanilla and churro flavors were very similar. The most prominent was the blue corn - and I think this was my fave. Comparatively speaking to other conchas at a panderia, $5 a concha is a bit steep. They are really tasty tho and definitely worth it. Think of it as a top shelf concha. Oh and the good news is, they're vegetarian friendly - they only use butter. Other than our group of 7 diners, 5 others were there for an intimate experience. Service: 5 stars all the way! Alex and the bartender were especially friendly, patiently explaining what they were doing and answering all our questions. Food: 3.5 stars. The menu for our night was California Southern. Witty ideas, some interesting combinations and the baby back ribs had lovely smokiness and bite. Most of the dishes were good, but some of them didn't quite come together or needed just a tad more of something special. But overall quite solid. Drinks: 4.5 stars. Loved how they had both alcoholic cocktails and non alcoholic cocktails. Both were excellent! And the cocktail pairings ($39 for alcoholic and $29 for zero proof pairing) were quite good value for money. Charging 15% service fee when we prepaid and then saying that tip wasn't included in our final bill: 2 stars. Sorry this is a big pet peeve of mine; wish they did what all other restaurants where you prepay on Tock do, which is charge a 18-20% service fee upfront and then don't need to ask for anything else if we don't add more. Honestly if we added another 18% tip that would be 33% total seems like a lot to be expected. Overall we had a fun night but the tip situation left a bad taste in our mouth. That said, big kudos to the guys for sharing their food and stories.

Came here with my partner and the waitress only wanted to approach me, and was not nice to my partner at all. When he was mid sentence ordering his drink, she cut him off and demanded to see his ID. ( mind you...it is also his bday...) A while later, we decided to get another round and he raised his hand hoping to get her attention. I completely understand that being a server is hectic and very stressful, but a little acknowledgment when you see your table asking for you should be bare minimum. She completely ignored him multiple times. When she finally came to our table and bluntly said to him " I see you okay. I'm doing other things but I see you. " she only wanted to speak with me when ordering also....which I found kind of weird. She is also not the nicest to the table next to us also, so at least it's not targeted. But aside from that, drinks and small bites are pretty standard for a cocktail bar. Nothing too special, but a good place to try with friends. The service mostly ruined it for us that night.
