Jamice is simply amazing!!!!! I found her based on the reviews here and decided to give her a try. I walked in with badly damaged hair that had a color and cut that I hated. I was pretty nervous about trying someone new, but am so glad I did! She was completely honest with me, talked about different options and ideas, then we came up with a plan and my hair was almost instantly transformed! She gave me a cut and color I love (and didn't think would be possible) and I honestly haven't received this many compliments on my hair in years!! On top of that, she is just so sweet and hilarious and so much fun to spend time with. And I say this as an awkward introvert who is usually really quiet during my hair appointments. Not anymore. Why isn't there an option for ZERO stars? Apparently, I'm not the only one with a terrible experience here. Stay away from Alyssa Seder and the owner. Alyssa already has other bad reviews on Google; I wish I had seen them before I went to her. I went to get my highlights touched up and ended up with the worst experience ever. Just three days before a crucial business trip to Europe, Alyssa messed up my hair. I took pictures the next morning, as soon as I noticed the issue, and had to go back on two different days for her to try to fix it. All she did was put more toner in my hair, which changed the color I wanted, and still didn't fix the issue. I had to go on my trip (July 13th) with a very embarrassing hairstyle. The highlights were so uneven, there was a chunk with no color at all, and there were many missed spots and orange patches. I couldn't even put my hair up in a ponytail. After returning to the US on July 31st, I texted Alyssa today, August 1st, asking for a refund. She refused, claiming it had already been 30 days, which isn't true, and became rude and disrespectful. She said that the only reason I want a refund is that I just came back from my trip and need money... seriously??? I would have asked for a refund even if I spent $10 which is what this horrible job is worth at most. She even tried to blame the issue on the water I used in Europe, which supposedly washed away the toner--WHAT??? She mentioned the two times I had to go back for her to fix it and how she gave me two $85 services for free. Seriously? You messed up my hair, and you make it sound like you were doing me a favor. I thought maybe the salon owner could help, but I was wrong. She blamed the issue on my natural brown hair color, which has never been a problem in the past 20 years of getting my hair done. She offered to add more highlights but couldn't have been more dismissive and did not take any responsibility of the issue on hand. Why would I trust them with my hair after three failed attempts? Joseph is extremely knowledgeable about hair. He had some great tips and just knew his way around a blow dryer. The second he started working on my hair, I knew I was in great hands. I have very straight hair and he gave me beautiful waves, which is what I requested . He actually listened to what I needed. He always checked in to make sure that everything was OK. I am sooo HAPPY I got my hair done at Dylan Keith salon. Actually, this was my first time getting my hair professionally colored and I have long, thick, Asian hair. When I met Kali I was drawn to her because of her genuine and vibrant personality, but more importantly I saw how passionate she was about hair. I sent her an image of the specific look I had been trying to achieve for years: lavender balayage, and ironically she had JUST colored her own hair a very similar color. I could tell just how excited and determined she was to make this transformation a dream come true. During my consultation with Kali, she explained in detail each step of the process and how to maintain my hair even afterwards. She was very transparent with me and happy to answer all my questions. It seemed like a good fit, so I booked my appointment on the spot. Before my appointment I was nervous, but as soon as I saw how professional and confident Kali is, all of my worries went away. She was very detailed and careful, especially during the bleaching process, which was the most time consuming part. So it's a very nice salon, it was easy to make an appointment and the management was great. I should have realized a well established salon having a $100 highlight special was fishy. I was scheduled with Alyssa. She must be brand new to doing hair cause there was definitely some red flags, the highlights didn't come with toner or a blow-dry. In what world would I leave with colorless wet hair. My hair is thin and shoulder length. Price's doubled, I agreed. So she gave me a partial highlight, I loved the blonde . Blow dry was nothing special but the color was great. But then it looked like a skunk stripe when put it up the next day. I walked in with a ponytail and was clear I wear it like that daily for work. So I went back to fix it. She kept asking what I wanted her to do. I don't know‍ I haven't done why own hair in 15 years. I usually say what I want it to look like. I told her, I need more guidance. I'm not used to choosing. She added more highlights to the sides to break up the dark blocks on the sides. Great. We agreed "no shadow root" and "no toning the blonde down". THEN at the bowl, she completely toned away my new AND old highlights, all brown plus these orange spots against my scalp. To add insult to injury, Alyssa kept gaslighting me that I agree to that color, that if I parted on the side, it looks fine. I was really clear I wear a ponytail for work. I don't want my blonde toned down. I didn't want a root touch up. I stormed out. I was livid. The owner was attentive and professional. Even calling me from out of town. She offered to fix it free of course. I was in a time crunch so a guy named Roberto fixed it. I ended up having to get a root touch up for the orange spots and my hair highlighted again for the third time in a week. I tipped again but I'm in shock a place that nice let's what seams like brand new ppl work there. The fix happened yesterday so I haven't taken a good picture yet. The worst! They cut my sons hair for the first time and the owner ignored my last texts asking for a refund. It was $48 including a tip to cut a 4 year olds hair, and I could have done a better job, no exaggeration. We waited to cut it for years and I just wish we took him somewhere else. I should have said something there and then but I've never been in this position before where the person was just so bad, it was shocking. I'm updating my review to respond to what the owner has to say.... honestly there was no way I was going to trust you again after you promised me Mitra was a trustworthy specialist, so excuse me for not wanting to come back and put my trust in you for a second time. You should have refunded the money when you knew how badly it turned out, and better yet the next time someone tells you it's their kids first time, don't give them someone who's unqualified.
