Probably the most pleasant customer service experience I've had - and I was a walk-in unknown…read morecustomer too. This is a wonderful jeweler's and I can attest to such, as a diamond cutter of thirty years experience.... I was not charged (even when I insisted) for polishing a personal piece of jewelry-

I debated on writing this but the more I think about it, it just doesn't feel right so figured I'd…read moreshare to give others a heads up. No complains about the repair - they did a great job! I took in a wedding ring crown that has 5 diamonds on it since I had lost one of the diamonds. Upon bringing it in, Josh let me know they could fix it and was already bagging it up without even giving a quote. I then asked for a quote since I'd gotten one from the original maker of the ring. I had let him know the quote he gave which was $390-425 was higher than what they quoted. But ultimately decided I'd rather have it fixed locally than send it out since I didn't want to wait (which I voiced verbally). He took a closer look and said they could do it for $425. I said okay because after shipping costs, it would only be ~$40 more than sending it to the maker. He said okay, and that he'd pick out the diamond today and I'd have it back the following week. 2 full weeks went by before it was ready so I was already a bit annoyed since that was likely the same turn around if I mailed it to the maker! But then when I went to pick it up, the price was $595+tax. I asked why the price difference (and refreshed his memory on our convo at drop off) and he just said okay we can do it for $495. So not only did it take just as long, but in the end after tax I spent over $100 more than what I would have spent if I sent it to the maker.

I've been going to Jared for over 13 years, and they never have let me down. Started in July of…read more2005 when I bought my wife her engagement ring. I went to all of the available Jewelers back in the day (Kay, Ben Bridge, Friedlanders, Shane, Alvin Goldfarb...) and even some less than reputable brands in Chinatown. I decided to go with Jared for quality, service, and selection. I usually buy at least one piece every year. I always tell myself, just going to drop off my wife's jewelry to get them cleaned and inspected, but I always buy something. This time I brought my wife's diamond bangle, engagement rings, wedding band, diamond pendant necklace to get their annual check-up to assure that they aren't coming loose from the setting. Surprisingly they told me that two diamonds were missing. It's the diamond that is in the place of the "O" in the LEO inscription on the bands. I didn't even remember seeing that when I bought them. Good that they informed me, I mentioned it to her also and she didn't remember either, glad I bought the diamond protection package from them. They did the paperwork, but while I was waiting with my 9 year old daughter, I decided to by her a piece also. She picked a Pandora bracelet. They make pretty good high end charm bracelets. 253$ later my kiddo has a lovely Pandora bracelet with 3 charms on it. Every staff member that I have bought jewelry from over the course of 13 years still work there (Jeanie, Sonia, Cornelia) versus other places that have high turnover. You can tell staff genuinely care about their customers. I can always count on Jared to provide exceptional service.

We went to Jared to choose my future daughter in-law's engagement ring (she wanted to choose one…read moreherself) yesterday. She had a very clear criteria: - platinum - lab-created diamonds - a leaf-like motif The Hungarian lady there sat us all down for 55 minutes, telling us that white gold is the way to go, showed us diamond or two, kept telling us that platinum is hard to get and it'll take 6 weeks or longer to get a custom ring. After 45 minutes and 3 or 4 inquiries of the prices of what they're recommending, she kept giving us all sorts of reasons why she couldn't give us a price because "it's not so simple". Then I asked whether the diamonds she's been showing us are lab-created, the lady said "oh, I didn't know you didn't want a real diamond!" in a very condescending way. Then she asked for my son's contact information including his address and phone number. I intervened and told her that's unnecessary since we're not getting any information from them. She then asked for my son's address and phone number, which I immediately shut down since they weren't giving us any information. When we said we wanted to visit a few other jewelers before making a decision, she suddenly produced a nearly identical platinum setting and claimed she could get it made in under six weeks after all. She also insisted that "they don't make lab‑created diamonds that small - they're SO CHEAP it's not worth it," which is simply untrue. On top of that, they kept pushing us to open a store account and take out an 18‑month payment plan to get a $500 discount. Why would anyone take out a loan instead of paying in full just to get a discount? It felt shady. To make everything even more uncomfortable, the store was boiling hot. We were sweating, there were zero other customers on a Saturday afternoon, and the employees were just chatting among themselves. The whole place felt like a time capsule from a 1980s used‑car lot -- high pressure, low transparency, and a complete waste of time. We left and went to Shane Co. around the corner. What a difference. The associate there was fantastic. She took us to a dedicated platinum section with dozens of options, showed us a wide selection of lab‑created diamonds in every shape and size, and - wait this - everything had a price tag. No games, no pressure, no mystery pricing. Sigh, I wish we went to Shane Co. first! Needless to say, my son bought a ring his fiancée picked out, paid for it, and walked out happy and content. Looking back, I wish we had gone to Shane Co. first. The contrast was night and day. Jared felt like a sales trap; Shane Co. felt like actual customer service.
