Good prices at a high cost. I brought my brand new Monique Lhuillier gown to Dynasty Cleaners that I had saved for months and months to buy, and wore only once for to an important work event. Upon pickup, I removed the plastic to discover not one, not two, but five large snags and pulls in the front of the gown, unraveling much of the knitting and floral print. The dress is destroyed. Not to mention the belt had a new stain as well with no explanation. My husband brought the garment back over to the shop and the owner shrugged his shoulders and was kinda like "oh, looks like they caught it. Oh well." They did not offer a refund, a reimbursement for the gown, not even an apology. Nothing. No remorse. As it turns out they send every garment to be dry cleaned at another factory in Queens with no oversight or quality control, and not much of a care for what happens to their customers' belongings. If you need something cleaned and pressed that you don't care about, by all means hand it over to Dynasty. But if you need someone to care for an investment piece, garment, or heirloom you care about -- stay far away. I will never bring another item of clothing to Dynasty Cleaners ever again. read more

I came here based on previous Yelp reviews. I don't quite understand the high reviews, but Dynasty was the first dry cleaner I've used since coming to New York so my point of reference might be off. I had two shirts ($2.50 each), a sweater ($4.00), a blazer (5.00), and tie ($3.00) dry cleaned. Everything came out okay. I was a little bit disappointed to find that my shirts were somewhat wrinkled and my tie wasn't completely cleaned (there was still stain when I got it). I wasn't asking for much. All I wanted was to have cleaned, unwrinkled articles of clothing. I didn't completely get what I wanted. The customer service was fine. read more

Devastated to have to leave this review after 2 years as a loyal customer. Last week I dropped off several dresses with stains on them and specifically asked if the stains could be removed. I was told yes and charged $100. The dresses came back with stains (very clearly no attempt had been made at treating any stain, as none were even lightened, and the stains were likely set in by standard dry cleaning service). When I called and asked for a refund, I was told that I would not receive any refund due to store policy. The store manager belligerently argued that he had specifically stated this policy to me when I dropped the dresses off, although this was not true. I even told him I was okay with the missing service and would accept partial store credit on my next order in lieu of a refund, as I really wanted to stay on as a customer. Instead, I was yelled at and told that my business was not valued. Today Dynasty saved $50 but lost a ~$500 a year customer. read more

Horrible customer service experience recently. I have been coming here for several years, occasionally. Recently I brought my favorite winter coat to be mended and cleaned. The owner/manager lost a removable part of the coat, that I myself have NEVER removed in 5 years of having the coat. (The faux fur trim lining the hood, without which I would not have kept the coat.) Instead of owning up to it, and just saying sorry I'll look into it, the immediate response was to say that he would have written it on the ticket if it had fur trim because "that's his system for 20 years," and just CONTINUING to lean into this and give excuses, after I reiterated I have never removed that part of the coat. And what would be my motive to lie about that?!? After a tremendous amount of back and forth, and push back, he said he would contact the "factory" (I guess the items aren't even dry cleaned on site) and see if they had it. After two more sickeningly rude, condescending interactions with him, guess what was found - the faux fur trim. He never ONCE apologized, what else offered a partial or full refund (I paid $65 for the coat to be cleaned and mended) if the missing part of the coat was not located. He was consistently so rude, condescending and belittling to me, a long term paying customer, that I wondered if some of his hateful and degrading attitude toward me had to do with the fact that I'm Black, and a woman at that. It will always make me wonder. The level of rudeness and disrespect was appalling. I will NEVER come back to this business again. There are plenty of other dry cleaners in the area. Beware!! I started using Dynasty Cleaners because of the excellent reviews here on Yelp. Yes, they are pretty far from my home, but I care about my clothes so I wanted to send them to a trustworthy place. While I must say Dynasty did do a great job, everything comes back fresh and folded nicely... they have an over-charging problem. I've sent my laundry there 3 times. Twice I have been over-charged.... so if you're going to send your clothes there, make sure you check your credit card statements. The first time they gave me back the money for the overage. The second time they said they would but didn't... so I won't be going there again. Also, it's amazing how I can send the same amount of clothes and every time they "weigh" it as more and more.... They definitely are cheating customers. Beware and stay away to save your money! read more

Reasonable prices and good service for both dry cleaning and alterations. $30 to alter a newly purchased wool coat (shortened in both length and sleeves). I was really impressed with the quality of the job, especially since the sleeves had some fastenings that had to be re-positioned. It was impossible to tell it had been altered. read more

I discovered Dynasty Cleaners shortly after I moved to this 'hood and am a regular customer. The service is always friendly and courteous and I discovered the joys of Amsterdam Avenue which is notably less expensive than Broadway. In fact, a buddy of mine hikes up here from his place on 96th to have Dynasty do his dry cleaning because their prices are sooo reasonable--30-50% less than you'll pay at other places, esp ones on Broadway. Their work is, as others have noted, good and solid. My sole complaint is their garment ID method which entails their stapling a tag onto the label tag of the clothing. This takes me all of 15 seconds to remove but when I'm in a rush it's a tad annoying. Other than that, I love 'em. They've also done tailoring and garment repairs for me with which I've always been happy. Prices for these services are also quite reasonable. read more

So you called, 9 am in the morning for a same day dry clean. They sent somebody to pick it up, in 20 min. You thought, oh cool, this might be a nice cleaner. Then the delivery guy never, never showed up. He called you, saying he arrived. You went down stairs found nobody there. You called again, ok, wrong address, one block away. So you waited another 10min, texted him the building and the right address. You called back and he said he was there, in a van, got out and drop it off. You didn't see anybody outside, and you are in your T-shirt because so help me god you thought delivery means door to door. You said, got inside. He said yes. Then you waited another 10min, and you called, nobody picked up. Standing in the lobby in your thin dress for 40 min, you called the shop. Owner said he didn't know what happened. He said the delivery left because he couldnt find a place to park. Yet you stared at a street with planted car parked for almost an hour. You asked him to send the guy again, and you would even go out. He ask, its been an hour, and you still want to do this? WHY can't people admit, they just don't want to do the bussiness? You complaint, it was your time they waisted, not the other way around. He said he would ask and call you back. Of course, that never happen either. read more

I used to live a little further south and went to Kay French Cleaners. They were high priced, but everything that came back looked like new. Dynasty isn't quite in that category--they do good, solid work and clothes definitely come back clean, but they don't have that new-feel that I like. It's especially evident with sweaters. I've also had a few minor alterations done there and the quality is good. On the plus-plus side, their prices are incredibly low and they can have things ready very quickly. Competent cleaners Can't seem to communicate Yelp lied yet again In a city where there's a dry cleaner on every other block...I have yet to find one that I had to get a tuxedo shirt with some bad collar stains cleaned overnight. They did well on the cleaning but missed the starch preference entirely. No biggie. In the same order, I dropped off an overcoat that needed a zipper repair. They said they should be able to fix it. "Will you call me if you can't?" I asked. "Yeah, yeah." Apparently, "yeah, yeah" means "no, we won't call you about options if we can't fix your zipper at the price we quoted you and if you want to speak to the person who does, she's here on Tuesdays. Here's your coat, come back next week." I guess that's par for the course in NYC. This makes me yearn for my dry cleaners in DC.... read more

Super friendly, super helpful, and I was in and out in under 3 minutes on drop off and pick-up. They had it done in less than 1 day. Dry cleaning my entire suit was $8. I also forgot my claim ticket when I went to go pick it up and they didn't care, they remembered me and just ran my credit card. They even waived the $10 credit card minimum for me because I didn't have any cash. I was going to just run outside to an ATM but they insisted it was OK. Great! read more

Just started going here. Had dry cleaning and some light tailoring done (patching a tear and hemming a leather skirt). Both satisfactory. I'll come back for sure but with some reservation. When I went to pick up my clothes, they couldn't find one of my pieces which made me nervous. Luckily, they found it, but I had to make a separate trip the following day to pick it up. I'm not sure what happened there, but I don't think I'd continue to go here if this becomes a trend. read more

My fave cleaner in my neighborhood for was and fold! Reliable and they have good prices. I occasionally also take clothes for dry cleaning, I'm a makeup artist and makeup inevitably ends up on my clothes but they always manage to get it out. Few weeks ago I dropped off my comforter with my wash and fold which I needed same day for a guest that was coming into town that night. I forgot to tell them when I dropped it off and at 6 pm when I came to pick it up it wasn't ready, I explained the situation and after hours the owner hand delivered it to my apartment. They damaged the clothes but said it's my fault. And also commented that they never had any customers complained in this way. I went so many times for a same shirt. No solution. They just handed me a wrecked silk shirt and refused to solve the problem. I'm not even asking for the compensation. But they even try to blame me for the damage. I don't send them my sweaters any more because all of my dark sweaters came back with weird light flecks on them and were, for all intents and purposes, ruined. The other sweaters didn't have the flecks, but they weren't really clean (one even came back with some goosedown stuck in the sleeve and I don't own a comforter and hadn't pulled out the parka yet) and they felt odd, texture-wise. Disclaimer: I've only had tailoring done here, so I can't speak for their dry cleaning. For a student on a budget, this is a great place to go. I had to get two suits taken in, and a pair of jeans + a skirt hemmed, and I needed it it by a deadline. For a very very reasonable price (can't remember what it was, but I know it was a hell of a lot cheaper than anywhere else I've been) they had it done a few days early for no extra cost. The quality was great (exactly what i needed, perfect measurements and all), and I'm definitely heading back whenever I need something else tailored. read more

For a dollar per pound, my shirts are still wrinkled when they are folded. Also, I wish the owner would have made me aware of the 10 pound minimum when I dropped my clothes off. Felt silly when I paid because I asked about why I was being charged more. I suppose my mistake by not asking enough questions. Very disappointing. I started to take my laundry here, and the man who seems to run it is very nice, and let me leave my hypoallergenic laundry soap with him. My only complaint was the lousy folding. However, after a few months, things went downhill quite rapidly. My laundry repeatedly came back damp, and there were socks missing every week. I reported these problems to the man/owner, and he assured me that he would remedy the problem. They persisted. The final blow, however, was when I brought in my laundry and he couldn't find my laundry soap. He called someone on the telephone, and said to me, "My wife threw it out." Hands down the worst cleaning service I've ever tried. Staff is rude and incompetent, and the work is shoddy to say the least. Sent 9 dress shirts to be washed, pressed and put on a hanger, and I got back crumpled and soiled shirts instead. The man at the counter refused to acknowledge that the job was improperly done. When I asked for my money back, he swore at me, grabbed my shirt, took them to the back, crumbled them, shoved them in a bag and gave it back to me. I will not be going back to this sorry institution that the proprietors have the audacity to call a cleaning service. Cheap wash and fold but HORRIBLE service. after getting back from vacation I had a large order of laundry to be done. The delivery guy knocked on my door when it was being delivered and started yelling at me because my laundry bag was too heavy for him to carry. He left it on the curb and told me I had to go down and get it myself. After picking my laundry up off the street and carrying it up to my walk up apartment I called the dry cleaner and they had little to say about the matter. I had previously been a customer there for over 2 years but after this I will not be going back and I suggest neither do you. read more
