I bought a Tesla and needed a 240V electrical outlet for charging my new car and received a quote from another company I used for my electrical needs. When I called the other company the owner made me really uncomfortable with his quote and response to my needs like he never installed a 240V outlet for electric cars. One of the things that I have found to be difficult in Hawaii is efficient, quick, and excellent customer service compared to the mainland (for example: California). However, Sergio and E I Electrical is the first company that I have found to be excellent! They have exceeded my expectations and it's because of their communication and how prompt and efficient they are. I am soooooo frustrated with this company!!!!!!!! I had them come on December 14th 2020 to check out our ceiling fan. They said it was not the fan but the electrical box needed to be replaced. They said they couldn't do it that day but would come back on January 3rd to do the job. We paid them close to $200.00 for that. They never came back!!!!! Rude customer service before they ever arrived. When I asked for an estimate Joe, one of the owners, called and with an attitude said well it could take 5 minutes or 5 hours. I decided to cancel because other companies could actually give me a time window. And with that estimate it could cost over $800 to do the job. When I told him I cancelled he called me, I wasn't at the phone then texted me to call him. When I returned his call he rudely wanted to know why we cancelled. I said I went with another company when he then instructed me to make sure they're licensed. I would have gone with E I if Joe wasn't so rude over the phone but he left a bad impression before ever arriving making me not feel comfortable doing business with him. read more

E I electrical sent us an invoice notifying us that one of their electricians would arrive at 8:30-9:30am. Hours have gone by and it still seemed like nobody was going to show up after all. We waited until 10:30 for them to arrive but however, there were still no signs of anybody arriving, so we decided to leave and hire another electrician to do the job. A few days went by, and we get another invoice claiming that they have finished the job when we already had it done the day they were supposedly going to show up. Overall I am most definitely not contended with this company and would be appreciated if somebody had just notified me that they were going to run late. read more

I picked E I Electrical based on the Yelp reviews. I attempted to get a quote for hooking up previously disconnected wiring for a kitchen light from four companies. E I Electrical was the only company to respond. Based on the friendliness and politeness of their office personnel, Joe, I was more than happy to book electrical work with them. Joe got me scheduled the following day and gave me the electrician's name, Jared, and his phone number once anything arose. Joe explained their charges upfront. Two hours minimum plus whatever lighting fixtures I wanted. I found lighting fixtures along with dimming switches for Jared to install. Jared was very friendly, easy going, and professional. He removed his shoes prior to entering my house. Jared is a fast and efficient worker. He was able to install two new kitchen lights, dimming switches for both, and three bathroom lights along with adjusting pendent lights to make them shorter. One of the pendant light was installed unevenly by the previous owner and Jared made sure to fix it so it didn't come lose. I highly recommend using this company. read more

Joe is unprofessional. I sent him texts and emails and he did not follow-up. After two weeks of not hearing from him, I called him and asked for an estimate. I told him that I was referred to him by another employee (former). He had nothing to say but negative things and told me not tell that person. Getting back to the reason I was calling, he said it was gonna cost $250 for a 2hr inspection/estimate. I asked why so much? He said bc when he gives estimates ppl don't hire him/them for the work? What ever happened to getting estimates/consultation before making a decision? Sounds like a rip-off! He also stated that they need to be there when an inspection takes place and that would cost $1500. Ridiculous! Every inspection thereafter would cost $. Absurd! We didn't even get to discussing the work but I heard enough. David (owner), I hope you speak to Joe about his work and phone ethics or offer him professional training. read more

When Chris came to do the job I explained what I wanted done. After approving an estimate for the job, without wasting any time, he got his tool bag, ladder, and started immediately. HECO came by in May to upgrade our meter but found a problem with the meter box. Contacted another electric company and waited one month for them to get back to me and said they had no electrician available. Found E I Electrical on Yelp and contacted them for an estimate. Dan came by the following day and gave me an acceptable estimate. He said he could do the work that day provided HECO came out to shut the power off. He contacted HECO and they came by about an hour later. Long story short, job got done, Dan handled the minor problems that came up. The assessment fee was $95.00 and Daniel Jennings responded. He provided us with a quote and told us to contact the office when we were ready to start. Six months later we started our renovation project. Although there were many add-ons and changes, E I Electrical sent Daniel each time and without any issues. Daniel showed up on time, was very knowledgeable, professional, respectful, reliable and did excellent work. I want to point out that we had to call Daniel out several times during the renovation and he always came out promptly. We also appreciated that we received a text message and email reminding us of our appointments and received text messages when Daniel and other electricians were enroute. Our renovation is almost completed and am very thankful to Daniel for making the electrical portion of it run smoothly. Both good and bad. Second appointment with qualified electrician (Leo) went well. He knew what he was doing, retrieved supplies needed, corrected for the first botched service by another electrician and did the job required. First electrician was not only unable to finish the job satisfactorily but made changes to system that needed correction.
