Delicious & affordable Thai! They're only open for take out, love that you can order online. Our order was ready when we arrived so it was a very smooth transaction. Our food was warm & fresh, I could eat the wonton wrapped prawns all day -- they were sooooo good!!! My pad Thai was delicious & the portion was large enough to have for lunch the next day. Fresh rolls were delicious and always pair so well with their peanut sauce. Pad thai was good but they gave me spicy intead of mild so I didn't enjoy it as much as I was hoping. We had a disappointing food experience. Something feels like it changed since my last review, I would not recommend the Tom Kha or Pad Thai.

I order Pad Thai Woon Sen. Here's the description. Glassy Noodle stir fried with egg, chicken, prawns, tofu, bean sprouts, green onions and chili powder with ground peanuts. Sounds wonderful, right!? Except that to my surprise when I open the box it didnt look like what I order, I even thought they had mistaken my order! lol There was not even one prawn nor chicken, but yes like six pieces of fry tofu, no eggs and much less bean sprouts. I payed extra $ for additional prawn,chicken in this dish but maybe went unoticeable. The noodles were glue like sticky, I love Thai food. Not my first rodeo. This was awful! I also order The Red Curry which it was more like a broth with a few dry chicken leather like texture and more bamboo shoot than anything else, lol. This Thai place's been in Sonoma for like forever! Maybe it was not my lucky night. Food isn't cheap. I honestly think that a little more care in the quality of ingredients and their portions would be fair to their customers. I ordered a pot of the wonton soup and the green curry. The wonton soup was OK but the green curry had to have been the worst I have ever had. Not only does the curry look and taste like it was watered down with A LOT of chicken broth, but there was also maybe 5 tiny pieces of chicken in it. If you are charging what you do, please do not make me feel like I need to order another meal to feel full but please add some flavor to your tasteless food. My family and I have been ordering from E Saan for nearly ten years, and it is some of the most delicious food we have ever eaten. The food is made using authentic Thai ingredients, so whether you are looking for curry, noodles, or fried rice, this place will definitely deliver. Suthisa, the owner, is such a sweetheart, and she always makes sure to provide great service. They currently only offer takeout, but the ambiance is still very quaint, with traditional Thai decorations featuring pictures of Thailand. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant, and I would highly recommend them to anybody. Just ordered 3 items from E-Saan Thai House and could not be more disappointed Absolutely disgusting Pad Thai was awful, Thai Rolls burnt and no flavor and the Basil Beef was a joke. I didn't even know what it was ...such a tiny portion in a little cardboard box. I called the restaurant first to complain and then called Doordash and got a complete refund. i love Thai food but this was not Thai food in any way shape or form. I ordered because I was tired and hungry and I'm still hungry because I can't eat this food!!! What a bummer!!! read more

Without even really trying the food I can say I probably won't be going back soon just because I spent $54 on a very small amount of food and don't feel like I got a good value. On the side of a busy highway no place to park next to the mobile home lot. Very rude and unprofessional staff will yell at you if you ask questions concerning dishes. Generally unclean open door kitchen with staff not wearing gloves, masks or hair coverings. Do not recommend for anyone who enjoys Thai and vegetarian cuisine. Who wouldn't like a taste of home away from home? Well, it's not bad for typical whitewashed Thai food, but that is not the esaan way of cooking. If you are country Thai folk looking for the fix, don't bother. The food is cooked good, but the food is not good. The service is good and the people are super friendly and for 99% of the people that want to eat Thai food in this town instead of tacos and pizza, the food is decent, go ahead and order. If you're hardcore, maybe don't, and treat yourself to the more authentic mexican food instead. I took 2 stars because it's VERY expensive for what you actually get, very skimpy, even for the area. In a town with a poor food selection I had no idea what to expect when looking for some authentic ethnic food. Found this Thai spot on yelp and the reviews were mixed however I had literally had Mexican my last three meals in a row so I took the gamble and was pleased. The reviews implied there was no spice. I asked for spicy and she refilled my water 4 times, and I like it Hot! The menu is limited but the prices are good. I love Pad Kee Mao and I didn't see it so I was disappointed however I asked for it anyway and she said no problem and had them make it for me. It really was satisfying. I ordered some veggie spring rolls to start and they were perfect and the sauce was great as well. Each of my counterparts was pleasantly surprised to find some quality Thai food in this small town. I recently went during Covid times and the take out was really good everything tasted just as good as when you're eating there. So glad they have kept up during these hard times. Love their Pad thai and drunken noodles! As a resident of Sonoma there's not much Asian food around here. I've been coming to this place for a year and I'm pleased with the food! My boyfriend and I are vegans and they are always happy to "veganize" our food for us. The staff here is very friendly as well! The only thing I would say that needs improvement is the noodles. There wasn't one dry pepper flake or chilli in our "thai spicy" food. Fried spring rolls : pretty good, not a lot of filling...but good, hot and freshly deep fried Thai iced tea: not as sweet and a little watered down than most places...but, I actually didn't mind the less sweet version at all...kind of a nice change from the traditional super sweet. Chicken fried Rice: oily and clumped together. Spicy Catfish and Ginger: high hopes, looked good on the table. Not too bad ...catfish was a bit dry on the edges. Not spicy. Pad thai, but made with Glass noodle dish.....tasteless. ....to be honest...I feel like the money spent could have been better spent elsewhere to get something enjoyable to eat. Over all....majority of the food is bland, no kick...no delicious under lining flavor that thai food normally has. We've been to Bangkok 9...and seeing that there isn't a lot of options...for this area if you're looking for something that is remotely...vaguely... similar to thai food...just go to Bangkok 9. read more

My palate for Thai is apparently not the same as everyone here in Sonoma. I thought the only good thing about this place was the Tom Yum Kum soup. The broth was great and it had tons of veggies in it. Since all 3 of us were loved the broth, we asked for more broth, and she refused! She said that they only make one pot at a time, and she won't make more. The garlic noodles were good, but the meat was bland and dry. We ate all the noodles and left all the meat behind. The fresh rolls were not good. The peanut sauce would have been good if there was more spice, so I added a ton. The rolls themselves were bland and rolled in fried spring roll paper, not the thin rice paper that are normally used. It was starchy and not very good at all. The Mu Sa Mon curry is a yellow curry and we got it with tofu. It was so bland that I questioned whether there was even curry in the dish, or just food coloring. The thai tea was standard, but i added a ton of cream because she gave each cup a spoonful of cream, and that was about it. Very obvious that the food is made to cater to non-spice eating people. Two other patrons were in nearby tables and we overheard BOTH of them requesting everything to be NON-SPICY. Bleh. The lady who served us was quite nice, but that doesn't make the dinner much better. Every Thai place in Sonoma is pretty good in my book -- E-Saan gets extra props for being close to my house, having a really nice owner/waitstaff, and making consistently tasty food. They're not going to rock your world but does every dinning experience have to? Sometimes its just nice to know you can count on a place to deliver a Thai beer and plate of pad Thai without a whole lot of hullabaloo. My favs are goong sarong: delightful shrimp wrapped in a wonton and deep fried. First off, who can resist anything shrimp and anything fried? And the dipping sauce. I'd kill a man for a quart of it. I am a big fan of the spicy cat fish, wonton soup, and lemon grass prawns too. And if you don't get mango and sticky rice for desert then why did you even go to a Thai place to begin with? Hello!! E-Saan is an intimate restaurant (read: teeny tiny and you can totally hear every other table's conversations effortlessly) but I've never come upon it and had to wait for a table. My husband, son and I went to E-Saan Thai House tonight looking forward to a wonderful meal.We had a young "new" waitress who took our order. Unfortunately she (or the kitchen) got our order wrong so we ended up with only half our order at a time. We figured it was irritating but the waitress was young and new. My husband ordered another dish of rice(partially since the first order was gone by the time the rest of our food arrived) thinking they could at least comp us for 1 order of $8 rice out of the whole meal. No deal. The owner proceeded to tell us it was the fault of the waitress and kitchen staff, so it wasn't HER fault. We felt an $8 plate of rice was a nice way to say"I'm sorry for the huge delay in your food order". Wow what a colossal "I don't care about YOU the customer and your bad experience. Brought my aging uncle here and was surprised. I'm somewhat spoiled by the quality Thai food available in Berkeley so I didn't walk in with high expectations. E-Saan house could takes its place alongside Berkeley's best. I WILL be returning. The Thai Cucumber salad, was delicious, reasonably priced, and hugely portioned. My husband and I love this place! We live just 5 minutes away but we've never tried eating here until now (we always order to-go at Rins Thai). We first decided on the Hotbox Grill but they were packed so we ended up here. I'm so glad we did! The ambiance was nice - quiet and lots of interesting Thai decor on the walls. There were less than 10 tables and despite being a Saturday night, the place wasn't full. The 2 middle-aged ladies who served us were very pleasant and attentive. The food arrived pretty fast which was great. It was a cold night so we had Tom kha soup with tofu and veggies. For the entree we had Beef Prig Khing (sauteed with green beans, carrot and red curry paste) and Fried Catfish with red curry sauce. They were super duper yummy!!! I've been to Thailand many times and the food served here in E-Saan is definitely authentic Thai (though not as spicy). The food is fairly priced and the portions are just right. We even took home leftovers. I agree that it is unfair to rate this place low because of its proximity to mobile homes. It is a decent family-owned restaurant that serves good food. In a town with mostly Mexican restaurants, this place is a breath of fresh air. My husband and I will definitely come back here! And we will be bringing our friends along! read more

Yummy! I really like this place. I have no idea what the owner's name is but I love how jolly she is every time we come in and her kindness and friendliness go a long way in my book! Las time we visited, boyfriends card was declined and I had no purse. He was outside on the phone with Visa for 20 minutes trying to get things straightened out (they though his card had been stolen, so they froze it) and finally she said not to worry and to just come back another day. She said she'd seen us enough time before and knew she had no reason to worry! THAT NEVERS HAPPENS ANY MORE. I tried to leave her my business card or drivers license and she wouldn't take a thing. The food is just as kind and I think about everything on the menu is under $12 - entrees and all! I usually go for deep fried prawns or fresh rolls, chicken satay and thai iced tea. Boyfriend usually goes for one of the noodle specials which are always outstanding. THe curries are great too. Although off the beaten path, this place is certainly the best value for thai food in Sonoma. The food isn't as fancy or creative as Rin's. I do love Rin's! BUT! For the price you can't beat it.
