Amy and her assistant were super friendly and the chinese was fresh AND extremely tasty yummy. Delicious local spot for quick meal dine-in or to-go. I was absolutely blown away by how good the food was. Will definitely return. This place is cash only no ATM DEBIT credit cards.

Really slim pickings here. Worst I have ever seen for anything Chinese.

After not going here for a long time, I decided to give it a try again. Nothing has changed here. It's always basically the same, which really isn't that great. After I got about halfway through the sesame chicken, chow mein noodles, and basil chicken, I was really disappointed and threw out the other half of the food to my dismay. The sesame chicken was terribly dry and wanting for some sauce. The noodles were mundane and unappealing. There was no hint of basil in the basil chicken, just plain mediocre at best. The portions of each were skimpy. I really wish they could pick up their act on the cooking side and offer something new every now and then, because this place is just boring and not really very good. You can't even really see who you're talking to behind the counter because they never took down their translucent Covid plastic barrier. So strange and awkward to experience. It would be such a great thing in this town if this place had better food, otherwise it's just taking up space that someone else could be operating.

For fresh hot fried rice, Amy's in Sonoma is the place. And, at $2.99 it is a meal deal.

This is a simple and basic American-Asian food place. The three times I have been here, the food has been fresh, hot-right off the stove, and tasty. Each time I have been in, the aroma has pulled me in. Really, try going by there when they first open and the food is cooking up fresh, it is hard to resist. True, it is not gourmet or anything fancy. But for affordable, yummy food, it is pretty good. The place is clean, the staff is friendly and when I go in, I look for what the chef or cook there does best. The fried rice is good. The fresh made chicken dishes are good. The noodle dishes are good. It seems to me that Amy's specializes in a buffet style. So, all the buffet style places I have ever been to, the one thing that is very important is that customers get there when the food is freshly prepared and served for the lunch time crowds. Go there later on in the day and the food has been on the warming plates for a while. That is why it puzzles me so many reviews complain, when it is just simple food. Get there when the buffet is just serving lunch and food is fresh. And, stay with what the chef does best. For me it is the fried rice. For $2.99 you get a lot on your plate, what more can you ask for? When I go back I will try other dishes. Yet I will make sure I am there when lunch begins and food is fresh, not later on in the day. What else can I say? Be thankful Sonoma that you have an affordable Asian-style food place.

The inside of Amy's! I would recommend the sweet and sour pork if you are a fan of Panda Express orange chicken

We were a bit reluctant to order because my husband has celiac but we went with a couple things to share. I got wonton soup for myself and 2 dishes she said they could make gluten free. I found it interesting that the entrees don't come with rice and you have to order the amount of rice you want. It also cost extra for chili sauce so you can see how quickly all of this can add up. The food itself was fine, wasn't the best Chinese food or anything. I felt like I needed to add soy or more sauce to the dishes because they didn't have a lot of flavor. Especially with them making them gluten free somehow. The white sauce was just ok ya know? The thing I did enjoy most was the noodles with small pieces of bbq pork. The wonton soup had only broth and 2 wontons, that's it. Every wonton soup I've ever eaten had more than that. Whether it be spinach, other veggies or even a couple shrimps. It was rather bland. We spent about $45-50

UPDATE mid-May 2026…read more They've reopened a few days a week due to popular demand! They were focused on their catering for a bit. No hot pot until the winter. Only open on weekends. Lunch is takeout only. Yay! Their bbq pork is their specialty along with other roasted meats.

I would rather eat lobster or…read moreartichokes than chicken or green beans, and given the choice I'd gladly eat my body weight in dim sum over basically any other food. That hasn't changed at all for me as an adult! In Sonoma county there was really just one place with dim sum, and lots of people wanted more options. I tried other restaurants with their dim sum adjacent menus, but they were pretty mediocre and mostly focused on fried pot stickers or the occasional steamed siu mai. Once I heard fantasy was starting a true dim sum menu, I knew we had to try it. The day we arrived I was solidly in my third trimester of pregnancy and getting around was a chore, but that wasn't going to keep me from dim sum. We were the only guests the whole time on the day we went there, which was weird to me given how good the food ended up being! Service was great, super friendly and just lovely folks. The restaurant was clean and we'll organized, and the menu was a good mix of traditional favorites and some trendy BAO for the insta. We ordered a little of everything , which to me is why dim sum is so fun. Food came out super fast, and we tucked right in. Surprisingly to me, my favorite dish is one hubs picked on a whim, the spicy won tons. The flavors and textures were on point, and even with pregnancy heartburn, the spice on these things was well worth it. Super delicious. I felt the pandan and black sesame bao were overly trendy for my taste, but I'm sure those who are new to dim sum could see these options as easy introduction into the food. Really good experience here with very tasty food, nice people and quality dishes. I'm still getting over the idea of expensive dim sum because of growing up eating it in SF with low costs in a humble setting, but for this overall experience I felt the prices were fine. I will definitely be back, and eager to try the rest of the items on their menu.

Located on Lakeville Highway, just east of Hwy 101, it would make a good place to stop for a nice lunch or dinner. I was there on a warm Saturday, at around 11:30 am. The dining room has a contemporary asian decor. The AC kept the air cool and comfortable. There's several 2,4, and 6 seat tables. Just before lunchtime, the place was 1/3 full with customers. I was seated along the wall. I was offered a menu, and choice of hot tea or ice water. I asked for chopsticks, because the place setting had a fork. I ordered the Mongolian Beef lunch plate w/ fried rice. Also, I asked for an order of (Lightly Breaded) Fried Prawns. Service was excellent. My waiter was very attentive, and served my food as soon as it was ready. He told me if there were any delays. I didn't have to ask for anything. The Fried Prawns were large and plump. They were served with various sauces to choose from. The Mongolian Beef lunch plate had a nice presentation. The portion size was fair. The fried rice was moist, and blended well with the Mongolian Beef. The Mongolian Beef was spicy and tasted just right. Hot 'n Sour soup came with the lunch plate. Lily Kai's recipe for hot 'n sour soup is a little different than what you might get in most other chinese restaurants. They make it with alot of mushrooms. The familiar flavor was there, but it lacked several expected ingredients. Well, as long as it tasted good, I'm okay with it. ----------------------------------------------- So I had a great first time experience here. The plaza has a free shared parking lot.
