I've been stopping by E Street Bagels for a long time. While it's true the service and food has vacillated widely, the past few weeks have been very good. They may have new owners or just a staff that seems to care. I usually get a pork roll egg & cheese. The bagel is on the smaller side but it's comparable to many shops in the area. The woman running the show is kind, greeting from the door, she repeats your order and thanks you. It's almost surprising these days to have someone not just mouth platitudes. My food was ready in about 3 minutes and I was on my way happy as can be. I'm a big fan of this place. Great breakfast sandwiches; great deli sandwiches; and the bagels are above average. Good bagel assortment. Very nice staff, friendly and efficient. Decent coffee (arabica). Large assortment of cold drinks. ATM machine; credit cards accepted. Small place with a 6 seat table and 5 seat counter. My vote for second best bagel in Monmouth County goes to E Street. Bagel Oven in Red Bank gets my nod for number one but not by much. As far as their coffee and other accoutrements ESB does ok but nothing to write home about, although they do a decent pork roll, egg and cheese which is worthy of your consideration. BTW - Manhattan Bagel in Wall is still the best run store and overall dining experience you will find in these parts all things considered. Bottom line: When planning your next bagel fix, give ESB a try for their NYC like bagels made the old fashioned way. read more

I had a craving for A bagel and lox and of course I had to have the side of pickle and macaroni salad to boot! E Street bagels is not only a fun man but also a bagel place that has a lot of care and real mom and Pop feel their food. Everything is extremely fresh, as can be witnessed by the stream of people who come in on the weekend mornings. The sandwiches are extremely reasonable. Most people seem to get the pork roll egg and cheese, ham egg and cheese or egg sandwiches. In my case the salmon lox was reasonably priced at $7.50 and a large coffee with refills off for about nine dollars. Most people seem to pick up at this location. In my case I did bring an iPad to puruse as I spend a lazy Sunday morning. I do enjoy comfortable sitting furniture and I have to say that the decor is basically a standard deli. However this is the struggle I have usually most breakfast places being not a coffee shop design but rather a pick up and go type of establishment. Maybe it was because I walked in sometime between 1-2pm on a Tuesday afternoon, but I was not particularly impressed with the food or service. Since I had heard the bagel sandwiches were good, I opted for a chicken salad on whole wheat bagel w/lettuce and tomato. The girl behind the counter who took my order seemed like she'd rather be anywhere else but there - the young man who rang up my order, however, was polite and pleasant. The chicken salad was decent, the bagel not so fresh. When I walked in, they were in the middle of sweeping the floor so all the chairs had been propped upside down on the counters. Not the most inviting to stay, so I opted to take mine to go. Based on what others have highlighted, I would go back for breakfast but would not rush back for lunch. read more

Honestly it looked dirty and a little sketchy but Meemaws was packed and we were starving so we just figured we'd grab some breakfast sandwiches..what a rip off first of all she overcharged us and when we questioned her we got an eye roll but she admitted that she overcharged us and gave us 450 back she acted as if it was our fault. My egg sandwich had one Fried egg, one piece of cheese and one piece of bacon broken into pieces and it cost $5.35 a bottle of water is $3.50, coffee was cold..ugh don't waste your money! read more

Really great bagel and service for E Street! After spending Summers in Belmar I finally ventured out to give it a try and was blown away by how fresh and friendly everything was. Have your choice between bagels and spreads or opt for something off of their menu. I walked in with a large order of 5 breakfast sandwiches and other goodies and was in and out within 7 minutes. The organization they have with getting the orders done makes for the service to have a smooth rhythm to it. The bagel I ordered wasn't overly toasted (I hate when that happens). It was fresh and eaten quickly. E Street is the local bagel spot for a great reason and should be your bagel spot even if just coming down for a beach day. read more

Sometimes I want to visit somewhere other than Corner Bagelry when I'm at the Shore. This place has good prices in a small strip mall. However, the service here is terrible and they do not follow good COVID protocols. Numerous employees were in the store, but no one would take my order. About half of the employees were not wearing masks or had their masks around their chins making them pointless. Highly disappointing. I come here for my pork roll egg and cheese on an everything bagel whenever I feel the craving. Unlike many other places, they pile the pork roll high and they know how to do it right. Staff are always friendly and quick, and they have seating there if you feel like sticking around to eat. They're a great option for breakfast sandwiches in the area. read more

Not enough hard rolls, no more croissant, not answering the phone, bad service, and then messing up orders. I used to love them and they were my new spot since Sea Breeze closed a few years ago in spring lake heights but no longer. When i ask for a pork roll egg and cheese on a hard roll with pepper and ketchup to go and I think picked up a pork roll egg and cheese with salt and ketchup on half sub roll it really isn't a good time. Bagels are good and subs are but breakfast sandwiches really falling off. Recently bought a dozen bagels at E Street Deli and cream cheese with lox. The bagels were stale and the cream cheese woth lox was tasteless, I think they waved the lox over the cream cheese. There was no sign of lox, not even the tiniest piece. The only other possible explanation is that it was only food coloring and a tiny drop of liquid smoke that wa added to the cream cheese! What steams me about the place is the egg sandwich pricing. They make 1 egg sandwiches and charge you for the extra egg: seriously?! 1 egg?! Put a second egg on and raise the price $.50, don't nickel and dime me. Trimming down the onslaught of advertising displays and literature pieces on all counters (Judo! Workout!
