    Breakfast & Lunch Menu

The Eagles Cafe was a short stop for breakfast/lunch we had. We ordered short stacks of French toast and pancakes. Overall food was fulfilling and good, waitress was super nice and attentive, atmosphere was chill. It's not a big facility so there were waiting times for people to be seated after us (we were lucky and got there just in time where they had a high top available). We would come back here again if we were ever in the Solanco area. Loved the vibe!

If I lived in Quarryville I would eat 3 meals every 2 days at Eagle Cafe. Sassy waitress. Sassy young woman behind the counter. Sassy woman making a bouillabaisse. I had to voice text 'bouillabaisse.' It felt like a modern country Mel's diner. Amazing scrapple, egg and cheese sandwich. I should have gotten the blueberry and walnut pancakes to go. I think they would have reheated good enough. Great morning in Quarryville. Almost forgot, the home fries tasted better than they look!!

We were in town for some shopping and wanted to try this small Cafe as it looked like fun! Small parking lot, but great service and very good food. We both ordered the bacon cheeseburger, and my wife got it with gluten-free bread. Unfortunately, they forgot the bacon on hers - and brought a pile of it separately. The owner came by and apologized for the small size of the gluten-free bread (which is pretty normal for this kind of bread). The photo attached is of my non-gluten-free burger and the take out menu. Great place, we'll definitely be back!

Very clean and nice service (and really only non chain option around). We had a variety of options and saw a childhood friend.

At first we weren't sure what to expect from reading the menu but let me assure you, everything is made with LOVE. Iykyk. We ended up ditching our reservations at some bougie restaurant to come back here a second time during our stay. The ambiance is cozy, clean, & minimalist. The Amish people are in a lane of their own when it comes to quality. They just nail everything across the board. Might I add that our waitress Amanda was the dearest of souls and her Bible verse attached to the receipt imprinted a memory for me and my husband for all of time.

We were traveling through on a trip, and didn't know where to stop for dinner. This place got great reviews and I see why! We are from NC, so we had lots of questions about the food. I tried the ham balls and had pasta salad and broccoli salad, and my husband had chicken croquettes with mashed potatoes. They don't skimp on portions, we had so much food left over! For dessert we had Shoo Fly Pie, the waitress was funny as she described it as "boring". It was delicious, but she was right, the flavor was "boring". Overall, you could tell that the food was mostly made from scratch. I would definitely go back if ever in town and would highly recommend this true Amish/Dutch restaurant. Best service and food you'll ever receive!

The server (Kyle) was terrific. He kept our water glasses full and provided suggestions/recommendations. The food we had was good. We started with a bowl of tomato crab bisque. The bisque is really thick, with a rich tomato taste and bits of crab in every mouthful. My partner and I split the bowl. It's really rich and very filling. My partner got the house salad with crab cake ($11 for the crab cake). What? They are from Maryland but they are having Crab cake in Pennsylvania? Are they mad? No, it's a really good crab cake for that price point. Lots of crab and the cake was prepared well. No regrets! I had the turkey Reuben with fries. Delicious. I like that the fries are hand cut. Good texture, not oily. A good amount of turkey in the sandwich. Really good sandwich overall. Looking at surrounding tables, other sandwiches and items looked good. The whole experience - food, service and atmosphere - was great. Highly recommend this spot. Sadly, too full for ice cream. : (

I have eaten here several times, and while I appreciate that it is a local establishment, the food quality is much closer to what I would expect from a school cafeteria than from a traditional family restaurant. That may sound harsh, but it is honestly how the food comes across to me. The issue is not the service or the cleanliness; it is the quality, presentation, and value of the food itself. One thing I have noticed during my visits is how heavily they promote their "Pot Pie," including advertising on the backs of the servers' shirts that says, "Make Pot Pie Legal." Since Wednesday's special is all-you-can-eat Chicken Pot Pie, I decided to try it. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. The presentation was not appealing, and the food looked more like a scoop of gravy and potatoes than what I expected from chicken pot pie. There was very little chicken, chunks of potato, and gravy, but no other identifiable vegetables. I ordered a side of peas and added them myself. There was also no pie crust at all. When I asked about it, I was told that "chicken pie" has crust and "pot pie" does not. I understand there may be a regional distinction, especially in Pennsylvania Dutch-style cooking, where chicken pot pie can refer more to a chicken stew with dough or noodle-like pieces rather than a baked pie with crust. I found that interesting and did not argue the point. That said, even allowing for that distinction, this dish was still disappointing. If it is not meant to have a pie crust, I would still expect a hearty chicken dish with a better balance of chicken, vegetables, and some type of dough, noodle, or dumpling-style element. What I received was mostly potatoes and gravy, with very little chicken. I paid the all-you-can-eat price, but I could not finish the first plate. Overall, the meal was disappointing. In my opinion, the pricing is high compared to the quality. My wife does like their chicken strip salad, which is why we continue to go occasionally, but this particular special is not something I would order again.

Introduction:…read more Representing 2018 in alphabet series, O is for On Orange. The letter O only has 5 of the 8 possible years represented in the alphabet series. Interestingly, 2 of them are in Lancaster County, PA. This was prior to my parents moving to Lancaster in 2021. In March 2018, my girlfriend of that time & I took a day trip to Lancaster. I lived in Montgomery County, Maryland (near DC) at the time, and we were meeting up with a friend who was living in New Jersey kind of in the middle. We agreed to meet at On Orange at 12 PM on that Sunday, March 25 since we were driving from far away, and I think they were doing a day trip too, but possible they stayed a night in town, not sure. Also, On Orange closes at 1 PM too, so even more reason to be punctual. My g/f of then was notoriously late & took a long time to get ready. She was taking too long to get ready, and I knew we needed to leave if we even had a chance of making it on time. After a while I said I don't want to do this, but I will leave without you & meet my friend (& his girlfriend). I started the car and texted you have 1 minute to come out, and if you aren't out, I'm leaving without you. My timer reached 0, and I slowly was driving off, but I saw her shuffling with her coat and what have you leaving, so I waited. We got in the car, and I rushed off. If that weren't bad enough, my g/f said we needed to stop at her bank to get cash. Of course, there was none right within route, but saw a location right off I-83 in northern MD, Hunt Valley, but we wasted more time to get off the freeway, for her to go to her ATM, & get back on the freeway when we were running significantly late. I said we are running significantly late as it is, so why are we wasting more time. She claimed in case there was something she wanted to buy in Lancaster, but that was not the primary purpose, but I'll get to that at the end. I was panicking on the significant late, and that the restaurant closes at 1, and I drove above 100 mph at times on I-70, which I think was the only time I've ever gone that fast on 70, and maybe only 4 times ever in my life reaching that speed. Experience with the Restaurant: This is street parking around here, which was free meters on Sunday. We got a decent parking spot a block away. We walked in at 12:50 PM, which was 50 minutes LATE and 10 minutes before On Orange's closing time of 1 PM. My friend & his girlfriend were already done eating. He said that they had their stomach set for eating at 12, and there was pressure to order since it's not a huge place and pretty busy. I was annoyed with my friend for not waiting for us, but I get it because let's be honest, my g/f fault on that one. Server was cordial, and my g/f & I quickly ordered. Food came out quickly. We ate quickly, and my friend & his g/f watching us eat. Food was delicious, and they were quick, but to be fair, they were closing in 10 minutes, so they were motivated to get out of there. I got a pancake & egg dish as I recall. This was a top notch brunch. In spite of the negative experience of being so late because of my g/f, the experience at the restaurant was excellent. Conclusion: After brunch, we looked around downtown, Amish Farm (see my 5-star review of them written in April 2018), etc. and was overall a nice day with the 3 of them albeit very cold. After we left, I took the back road from I-83 all the way back to Germantown, MD where she lived to see something different and to save a little gas too since it's pretty direct going that way. My g/f was complaining about it taking so long getting back. I knew she was meeting up with a friend that night. But what I later realized, she wanted to stop at an ATM that morning really because she needed cash to pay that friend for cannabis that night. So, she disrespected everyone's time for this. I guess on a positive at least she wasn't cheating on me with that guy and really was just for pot. In conclusion, I thought On Orange was top notch, and they were accommodating to our time schedules.
