Solid 3.5 stars. This is our go-to diner for breakfast on occasion. The food and service is good. Sometimes there can be a bit of a wait depending on day/time you get there. Their dessert case always looks inviting, but I never have any room to try anything out of it. We hosted an affair for breakfast Saturday June 15th to honor a 95 year old vet who just was awarded the purple heart.I had originally told Marco and Ze that I would have 30 people As the number grew to 40,they were right on the ball setting up more tables for us so that no one was waiting .The 2 owners were giving us all of there attention so that everything went well.The waitress was so attentive and prompt even though she had a few other tables.Food was great(especially the cheese bread) I have been pleased with other places,but never to the point of writing a review.I just can't say enough great things about the Eagle Diner and the 2 brothers who operate it.They made the day into something unforgettable.Thank You so so much.I would recommend you to anyone looking for a place to have an affair. There is absolutely nothing bad to say about this place The salad bar is huge and fresh with hot delicious soups and fresh breads. The food my wife and I ordered was spectacular. She ordered the small plate meal which was still a healthy portion of food, paired with the salad bar, was perfect for her little self. I had a chicken dish with spinach in a cream sauce with dollops of melty mozzarella cheese that rivals anything you would find in an Italian restaurant. HUGE portion! We got free deserts that night for sending in a text message... since no human could possibly eat that much food, we took desert home and had it the next day. Spectacular again!! I absolutely love this place. I have drove way out of my way to make a stop here for food. They have great prices and deals on food. The salad bar is OUT OF THIS WORLD. My boyfriend took me here for one of our anniversary dates. We had a very late dinner I think it was around midnight haha. But it was so quiet and peaceful. The food was amazing I had the cream chipped beef and went for the all you can eat said bar. Omg the salad bar was my favorite. it's not just salad. It had soup, cold pasta, a variety of different kinds of breads and cheese. And the service was great. They answered every questions I had about their menu, they refilled our coffee, food came out fast, and the portions are perfect! By far the best diner I've ever been too. I had the worst experience at a restaurant tonight. I've gone to this establishment multiple times and enjoy their food and they just lost a good customer.To start we put in milkshakes as a drink and the milkshakes took 30 minutes to come out when we got our milkshakes we put in for our food, no one got a big dinner it was simple food that anyone knows is already made aside from a few things, cream chipped beef and home fries and someone else got a panini and fries, it took 45 minutes for it to come out. I made a few comments about how long it was taking with my party and we knew it was the waitress' fault it was whoever was in the back. When I paid for my food and went to leave another waitress cursed at me and said "next time you can be a little effing nicer to service" I said excuse me but I didn't say anything rude at all to my waitress and I tipped her a good 25%. The manager was standing there when she cursed at me and didn't say anything at all. I will NOT be going back to this restaurant at all and highly recommend no one else going there if this is how they allow their employees to treat customers. I work as a customer service rep at a well known store and if I cursed at a customer I would've been fired on the stop no questions asked. read more

I am here from out of town again to visit I family. I've eaten here twice and both times it was breakfast. The family members we visit I eat here often and enjoy it the food and prices. Both times I've been here it was delicious and the service was great. I will be back here again the next time I visit from South Carolina. I ordered take out fried haddock tonight. I'm a lifelong fish eater. I love all fish I've ever tried except for smoked or cured. Tonight was my first exception to what I just said. When my husband brought the fish into the house, he complained about the strong fish smell, which was a mystery to me, until I started cutting into the fish. It obviously was not haddock, surely like any I've ever had AND I've ordered fried haddock many times at this diner, and it was always my favorite fish there. My fish was in long thin layers, very much like orange roughy but it was not good like orange roughy and btw, orange roughy or any similar fish is not normally fried. It seemed salted and cured or smoked, not white like haddock, flounder or cod, but a beige color with brown around the edges of the "flakes", which were much larger than flakes from haddock, flounder or cod but unlike orange roughy it tasted awful. I can't describe it any better. Reminds me of a fish that would not be clean. Just be careful of what you order there if you go. Jimmy the owner has been there more lately than he was about 15 years ago, but he needs to still keep a closer eye on things there. Also they didn't ask if my mom's club sandwich bread should be toasted or not. It came back not toasted, and toasted is conventional for club sandwiches. read more

Well, like some bad sitcom plot, the Eagle diner has taken your beloved and replaced it with anemic coffee, untoasted toast(aka bread), sad little eggs, unseasoned homefries, and greasy, undercooked pork. They present it to you as if it is the real thing, but you know it is a sham before the waitress turns on her nonslip heel. You look from your well worn plates (as there are many) to your companion and realize "It's happening to her too". You make jokes and attempt a few optimistic bites, hoping someone will suddenly announce you're being pranked. But alas, this is the greasy spoon for those who have given up on their culinary dreams. Our waitress was extremely slow, compared to the other waitresses. She admitted she was "a little sick" as she sniffled her nose. Wish I had noticed before we had already been there for about a half hour. Totally turned off that she was allowed to work. I wish her well but for that reason I won't be coming back to this diner. We have been going here for months and never had a problem. Today was different. We got there around 3:15 or so. The place was busy but not overly crowded. We were meeting our son & his family. We went in to get a table for 5 and were seated immediately. There was a $15 tip on the table. As we were sitting down the waitress came over grabbed the tip, said hello and walked away. My son got there 5 minutes later. We sat there for about 15 or 20 minutes with no waitress. The one who took the tip was sitting in a booth in the corner with other waitresses. Finally a young girl came over and told us that it was change of shifts and she was new. We gave her a break because of being new. We got soups with our meal and they came out 5 minutes before the meal. So as we were eating our soups our meals were getting cold. The Reubens were on white bread instead of rye. My grandson should of gotten bacon with his meal and didn't. I felt sorry for the waitress. I think the problem today was the kitchen. We go for breakfast once a week during the week and never had a problem. read more

This is a diner so it's hit or miss and not 5 star dining. Here's what I like: Good bang for the buck, very reasonable prices. Nice salad bar plus soups included with dinner. This alone will fill you up. Good menu selection and daily specials. Open 24x7, best breakfast menu. Negatives: Usually a long wait for a table. Kitchen gets over whelmed so food comes out under / over cooked. The entire restaurant needs to be remodeled especially the disgusting old bathrooms. Poor A/C in the summer. You sweat while you eat. As busy as they are owners seem cheap to spend money for improvements. The Warminster West right down the street is much nicer. read more

Terrible service. Literally half the stuff we ordered was wrong. My son ordered strawberry/cream cheese French toast. I thought she gave us the wrong order. Waitress says they just forgot the strawberries. So she brought them out and put them on top! I retrieved the menu and found out that what the brought was a cannoli French toast.She just tried to fix it. After she brought everything out she said she was waiting on the home fries. We waited 15 min until I had to get up and find her to remind her that we were still waiting on our home fries,to which she answered "I asked if you needed anything else?" I didn't know I had to ask for what I already ordered! Ordered wheat toast and I got rye. Ordered home fries with onions but didn't get the onions. The ketchup was empty. And to top it off I ordered the eagle breakfast which comes with a juice,but that didn't happen either. Didn't realize that until I was in the car. I'm not a picky eater. I can eat rye toast,things without onions,go without orange juice, or even eat strawberries on top of French toast.(the chocolate chips gave it away). I have even been at tables where the ketchup has run out. But when everything happens at once. Someone is not doing their job right. Don't expect me to return anytime soon. I have been eating at this diner for 20+ years. It use to have very good food. The past 5 years or so I have not had 1 so good meal. It's either the vet cooked, it comes out wrong, I'm not picky but with their inflated prices I expect a meal that is edible. Burnt scrapple, raw chicken, burn liver that came out with the plate covered in a ton of heavy when I said no gravy. They washed it off three it in the dryer and brought it back burnt and so dried out I couldn't eat it. The only thing this place still has going for it is the salad bar. I've had many tasteless foods and when you complain the owner gives you attitude. They will clean you table with food just brought out because you went to the bathroom! They blame the chefs stating "they don't speak English" wth. They will not give credit for bad food. Then they bring a group of 7 very loud teen boys where it's quiet people eating dinner and they are not ordering, they are flirting with a new hostess and the owners did nothing. Their value meal is only a value when they given you the entire meal. No dessert even though it says it's inckudespd. Bottom line, rude staff & iwners, poor food for a high pruce, don't stand by their product and don't care about customers comfort with foul talking kids. We've given it several chances but no more. We have dined at the Eagle with our children and by ourselves for over 20 years. Never again. Last night my daughter and her boyfriend went to the Eagle for a bite to eat after his hockey game. They stood and waited for a table in a mostly empty place. The owner ignoring them for quite a bit. He was feet away so not busy and they were not out of eyesight. He ignored them. Once he finally decided to seat them, they thanked him for the menus and no response. They thanked him for the silverware and no response. Then he proceeded to chat with other ADULT customers as he walked away form their table so he is able to speak. They ordered eggs, potatoes and toast that took 40 minutes. With curfew looming they requested the food to go or boxes to come with their food. The waiters asked them "Why, because it is taking so long?" They replied they had a curfew and she gave a snarky reply. The waitress was simply rude. Learn by example I suppose. The adults were spoken to nicely and treated far differently. No, these 2 kids 17 and 19 were not loud, rude or disrespectful they know better. Shame the owners and staff at the Eagle do not. They lost customers that have been coming for years. Good food and prices, NEVER outweighs disrespect. Their meal was paid for with money just like everyone else and a 20% tip left despite the treatment. As they were trying to pay and leave, another group of young adults came up to inquire as they were apparently being treated just as disrespectfully. Eagle diner you do know these kids become your adult customers one day. Is driving them a way with ALL of the other local choices a smart business move? We will share and find a new place to make a regular diner stop. read more

Very, very disappointing experience on Mother's Day. We had 10 people in our party. Obviously we had to wait (at least an hour) for a table. We were taken to our table which was able to seat 8. The gentleman taking names wandered aimlessly for several minutes. I took my daughter to the bathroom, came out and my mother and others were still standing at the table of 8 looking lost. I finally asked if we could have the booth next to the table to accommodate everyone. He said absolutely. We were waiting for two people who were stuck at an emergency so we placed my mom's coat at the booth. The hostess came over a few minutes later very rudely and asked if it was our stuff at the booth, that she needed the booth. We explained the situation. She went to the gentleman taking names and came back and said I'm taking this booth and threw my mom's stuff on the chair at our table. I was outraged. My husband actually left breakfast because he was so angry. My mother was so upset and asked if we should leave however since we waited over an hour to be seated and knew we would have to wait longer if we left and went somewhere else, we stayed. What a horrible experience. We have been going here for breakfast every year for Mother's Day for at least 5 years and never had a problem. That hostess ruined our morning and they have now lost our business. read more

Don't waste your time or money. Was there today for a quick lunch and it sucked. Service was slow, over 25 minutes for a cheesesteak wrap, that came out wrong anyway. I ordered it plain because of food allergies, after it finally arrived it had MUSHROOMS, peppers and onions on it. I did not have the time to wait for another one to be made as I had someplace to be. The manager REFUSED to remove it from my bill. I had to pay for something that if I ate it, it would kill me. I voiced my displeasure and was told to just not tip my waitress and that would pay for the sandwich. I did tip my waitress as it wasn't her fault, but I can guarantee that I will never go back. There are plenty of places in the area who are not trying to kill their customers. The diner needs to be thoroughly cleaned, the bathrooms are disgusting. When we went to pay check, the cashier seemed put off and wanted to know which meal was mine. She claimed only the vet gets 10% off his own meal and not the check for my family. Tried this place for the first time last week based on recommendations from friends and it was pretty good. Stopped in for lunch with a friend and tried their turkey club wrap and it hit the spot...very tasty. They have a large menu with many typical diner options. very very dissatisfied out family go to the eagle all the time we went on Father's Day and the server was really inexperienced I understand it was Father's Day but we waited a while for our food and when our food came out my daughters was wrong my husband streak was all fat my son's steak who asked for medium rare came back so tough we were all missing things from our meals I was supposed to have ranch dressing on my wrap didn't have any so not sure how much was the server fault and if there was a new cook. we had a big bill and left so upset. we will not be eating there for a while. we will be going some place else sad that we loved this place but after this. no one likes to complain but to have service and food like this. wont be going back. very sad read more

I always used to go to the Eagle Diner when I had the chance. My last visit will be my last. The new staff looks a message, they all look like the rolled out of bed. The one manager looked all disheveled and the other manager had on jeans and cowboy books. Our food was terrible, asked for no sauce, but they cooked the chicken. In sauce and when it was sent back they rinsed the chicken. And added cheese on top. I guess they thought I wouldn't notice unheated cheese and mushy chicken breading. The waitress nor manager offered no discount as I ate my salad. This restaurant used to be great and I see it is almost a whole new staff and obviously no one cares. I've rolled through Eagle numerous times in the past several years or so. It's always been a good friend to me through thick and thin. So it's safe to say at this point, that it is a decent place. It's a diner, fo sho. I wouldn't walk in here expecting extravagant food and for your mind to explode in twenty directions. It's usually packed, but you somehow always get seated quickly. The service has never been a problem for me, neither has the food. The salad bar is what wins me over and the reason why I stop in these days. It's a good price and it has a wide selection of things to choose from. I'm pretty satisfied after tearing up what they have up there. Their macaroni salad is my personal favorite in all the suburban land, which is saying a lot. They also have amazing breakfast (which is a meal that's kind of hard to destroy, but hey- I still make note of it being great). Portions are big and it's cheap! read more

Stay away from this place! I have been going here for 15 years. Over the last few years, the overall quality of everything has gone down! The food, service everything has gotten much, much worse in recent years. Then today was the tip of the iceberg! Not only did we have an awful waitress and not only were there repetitive issues with the food but the owner then showed how little he cares about man kind! At around 230 in the afternoon, my 6 year old son was walking by the salad bar. He slipped and hit his head hard on the ground and as he got up he fell again and hit his butt hard on the ground. This happened because they decided to mop the floor at this time. They did not close off the mopped area NOR DID THEY PUT ANY WARNING THAT SAID WET FLOOR. When I called the owner over to discuss this he said it's their slow time so they just mopped. No apology. He never asked how my son was. Never explained why there was no warning. He just wanted my name and number for insurance purposes and he claimed this was their slow time (meanwhile 80% of the tables had diners while this happened). IT IS BAD ENOUGH THAT THEY WERE CARELESS BY LEAVING A WET MOPPED FLOOR UNMARKED AS SUCH DURING A BUSY TIME. IT IS EVEN WORSE THAT THE OWNER SHOUWED NOT EVEN A MORSEL OF CARE OR CONSIDERATION ABOUT ANOTHER HUMAN BEING WHO WAS HURT AT HIS RESTAURANT. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!! read more

NEVER AGAIN. This place along with Friendly's and Warminster West make the trifecta of HORRIBLE food! First off, I asked for Iced coffee and the waiter brought over a container of hot coffee and ice. Seriously? If i'd known that i'd be watering down already watery coffee I would've passed. Now, I'm no fan of diners but i was invited there so I should've expected this... So We order a turkey club, french onion soup, fries and an egg bagel sandwich. The French onion soup was horrific! It was a bullion of stock, scoops of salt, shredded cheese and croutons. the turkey club was huge but extremely dry... I used to come here all the time, but each time it seems to get worse and worse, while the prices slowly creep up. The food quality has definitely dropped. Ordered a burger with onion rings..everything except for maybe the toppings were virtually tasteless. Not only that, but the food came out way too fast (I was with my family who ordered other assorted meals), so you know it's all pre-made, microwaved food. And they no longer let you add on the salad bar (the only thing this place has going for it) to a meal..only give you 1/2 off a sandwich if you buy the salad bar at full price. The only plus is, the staff is always friendly and prompt. This may be an okay place for a quick breakfast or sandwich at lunch, but I don't think I will be back anytime soon for dinner. read more

I like the Eagle Diner's salad bar so much I'm giving this place 4 stars. There is another diner in the area whose food is somewhat better but their salad bar stinks. Eagle's salad bar is great. They have bread and soup and many kinds of dressing to choose from, including a really creamy, delicious French. Their entrees don't blow me away but I've had plenty of decent meals here. I've been here for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and for late-night meals (11:00 p.m./midnight). Their BLTs are decent and the chicken croquettes are not bad. Our family has dined at Eagle Diner for years.....not any more (due to the 2 male owners being extremely rude and unprofessional)! My daughter and I ate breakfast there on August 26th. Our waitress was extremely nice, polished and prompt. I ordered a short stack of blueberry pancakes. She asked if I wanted to order a side of meat. I asked if a side of meat came with the pancakes; she answered yes. So I ordered a side of bacon. When we received our bill, there was a $2.75 charge for bacon. I questioned her about this and she said it was an error and would have it taken off the bill. She returned and said that bacon is extra and she was not aware of the extra charge, as she was a new waitress, so she admitted she made a mistake, but the owner would NOT take the charge off the bill. She said she even explained her mistake to her boss and he still would not take the amount off the bill. When I went to pay at the register, I explained what happened to the cashier and she was going to take the $2.75 off the bill as she manually subtracted $2.75 from the bill. Then a young girl (another cashier) came up next to the cashier and told her she could not take the amount off the bill. She then yelled over to the younger male owner, referencing the bacon charge and he told me he was not taking the amount off the bill. He said "where do you get meat included for breakfast??" I explained the conversation the waitress and I had and he then proceeded to tell me that she did not tell me it was included, that I was wrong." I told him I specifically asked if the meat was included and she told me it was. He again repeated she did not tell me this and I was wrong. The cashier then gave me change and she did not deduct the $2.75; she said "he's the boss." The older gray haired man, who has been there for years came over and heard the conversation and supported the man who I was talking to. I told them both I was going to write a review of how unprofessional and rude they were and then they both raised there voices to me, while there was a line of guests waiting to be seated and told me to "write the review....we don't care." It is a shame, as their breakfast food is decent. As noted in previous reviews, they talk down to their employees. I told the waitress what happened and that both men did not believe me and she said they are always rude to their staff. I told her that she was too polished and her skill set was too good for that diner and to find another waitress job elsewhere. It was not about not affording the $2.75; it is about the principle of customer service and their lacking of such and manners. read more
