Eagle Diner has a great salad bar, including breads and soup. Most of their other foods are your typical fare for a diner. Sometime ago Eagle changed their source of desserts to poorer quality products. Then a couple years ago they changed management or ownership. After middle-of-the-night fire calls, many of us used to go to Eagle for breakfast, or snack. We don't do it much any more because the quality and service have gone down. We have been going to this Diner on a regular basis for a few years now. Mostly we go for the beautiful salad bar. The man who maintains it does a great job. I felt completed to write this review as I don't think I the owner cares about his customers and food. The food is mediocre at best, portions on starches are huge but the protein is horrible- veggies are over buttered and over cooked. Absolutely HANDS DOWN, the best Salad Bar for miles and miles around! (Where can you find fresh scallions on the stalk for instance!) Typically our family orders a dinner and then simply has it packed to go, and then enjoy the wonderful salad bar with tons of choices and three delicious soups, assorted fresh baked breads (some with cinnamon or cheese backed in) and puddings, jello, or fruit for dessert. But quite a few of their dinners also include a regular dessert from their large baked pies or cakes. We have been steady customers for over TEN years and the dinners have always been great! We have sent many others here who have all agreed. I sometimes ask for a special sauteed dish that's not on the menu (i.e. Shrimp and scallions over rice) which they delightfully made. It's almost impossible for me to eat out anywhere other than a handful of tried and true joints, but my friend and I went in here on a whim after 10:00 pm recently and feeling particularly adventurous I decided to order a meal and boy, am I glad I did! We both ordered the Eagle Breakfast Feast and were pleasantly surprised with the rather large portions and high quality of the food! The Eagle Breakfast Feast comes with pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, toast, juice, and coffee... all for under $10! The pancakes were the best I've had, the eggs tasted like real farm fresh eggs, I opted out of the breakfast meats, but my friend thoroughly enjoyed them, and the potatoes were delicious! Today started out to be a great day. My parents and I had reservations for 5 people for Thanksgiving Dinner. When we got to the Diner they had a table for 5 all ready to go for us. We proceeded to tell the manager, who later I find out is the OWNER, that we had two people who couldn't make it at the last minute. The OWNER proceeds to tell us that because there is only 3 of us now, we could only sit at a booth. When we called for the reservation we specifically said a table only. Anyway, the OWNER said that we could only now dine at a booth. We told the OWNER several times that my mother could not fit it a booth and that we needed room for her walker. My mother is 73 and is heavy set and has a lot of trouble moving around. The OWNER then proceeded to ignore us. So I approached him myself and said "let me ask you a question. If 5 of us were here right now would you put us in a booth? He said no. I said, exactly so why can't you just give us the table they had ready for us?" He didn't really have a good answer other than he had a party of 5 coming in at 1:30pm. Our reservation was for 1:00 pm. So basically the OWNER didn't care and was COMPLETELY unaccommodating to my mother who needed a table to sit at. I've NEVER in my life ever seen such ignorance from a restaurant worker let alone the OWNER. We had to leave and dine elsewhere. The owner is rude and ignorant and the hostesses don't know what they're doing. And apparently as a customer you don't have the right to say something when they keep passing you over for seating. I came in as a party at 3 with one party of two in front of me waiting to be seated. They took two people behind both of us that just came in and sat them saying that they were a two top table. Which still doesn't explain why they sat that them when there's a 2 top couple who's been waiting to be seated. Then the hostess did it again taking another party of two that just came in and sat them down at a four top table. I ask the hostess why did you sit them and not us. She gave us another bogus excuse. Meanwhile the couple in front of us and my party are still waiting to be seated. Sure enough it happens two times which of course I asked her why didn't they seen us. The owner in a very rude and ignorant manner tells me not to question the hostess every time they sit someone. I tell him that they're seating people that came in after us at tables that is adequate for us. The hostess then immediately took us to a table as the owner is still bitching at us. My sister turns around and tells him that is not a very professional way to be treating your customers. He then says get over here Missy and my sister turns around says to him I'm not your employee you don't talk to me that way. I turn around to tell my sister that I don't want to eat here anymore and I see the owner coming around the cash register like a bat out of hell towards my sister and says we're not going to serve you. of course I was totally fine with that. We are your customers and we have every right to question why we are still waiting when other people are being seated that are coming in after us. They are walking in the door and being seated meanwhile we have been waiting 15 minutes to be seated. read more

Despite diners not being my favorite type of food, I always leave impressed with the Eagle diner. The food is always good and salad/soup bar is one of my favorites. We also recently went for breakfast and were not disappointed. Our meals were great and although I'm not a huge pancake fan, I tried my husband's and now I'm craving them from the Eagle. read more

When we walked in, the dining area was large, well-lit, and gave off a good energy. we were immediately greeted and taken to our booth, which was comfortable enough. Our waitress was there in about 3 minutes, came right back with drinks and was helpful about the menu. She recommended the chicken deluxe, but i recommend the croissant melts. those are FANTASTIC. As are the waffle fries! Anyway, the food was awesome, the service was great, and the food was CHEAP. Usually at diners you can still expect to pay around $7-8. Here, it was $3-6. Stopped in for dinner after picking up car being inspected at AAA right next door. Very good salad bar with multiple soups. Had broiled crab cakes which were Fantastic!! Husband loved the broiled haddock and said it was Great. Our pleasant, attentive server was Rebecca. She was also training her two older teen daughters as servers. This is a huge diner. Food good diner food. Potato pancake really good. Eggs weren't as I ordered (over medium, but were over easy, so runny). Other than that, everything was good....except the dishes are cleared by staff pushing a cart along side the where the diners are eating. I have never posted a bad review of a restaurant even if I am disappointed by them but I have to say I will NEVER again eat at the Eagle Diner on Street Rd. Rich and I took Ziya for dinner before taking her home today. The meal finally comes out and my entre was not included. I was informed they did not have that entre today even though it was on the menu. They couldn't inform me when the order was put in so I could make a new decision?? Since I needed a meal fast I ordered a bowl of less than mediocre chili. The bill comes, I have been charged for the chili and an additional 10.95 for a salad bar (that came with my original entre) I eat very little salad post bari surgery. I go to pay the bill and ask the manager to remove the salad bar from my bill as I ate only a couple pieces of lettuce, 1 cucumber, I grape tomato and 1 piece of bitter green pepper. He informed me I would be charged for a side salad. I am furious! This is a terrible way to treat a guest. read more

Steaming and effortlessly presented, the pork roll and egg sandwich I ordered half an hour prior graces my senses with an effluvium reserved for one-percenters. Presumably young, the waitress in red attire makes the interaction a relaxed, but friendly exchange. She tells me to enjoy the meal, giving me a gaze that could have possibly progressed to a wink, but didn't. Slightly disappointed in myself for not being up to par for a wink, I scarf down the sandwich to ease the pain of reality. My stomach deals with both emotional and physical pain; a detente for my ego and superego. Upon coming down from my emotional rollercoaster, I'm met with the check for the sandwich: $8.69 after taxes. Here's where this diner did me wrong. When asked if I was to tip the lovely broad who served me in my first paragraph, I responded with "yes, 10% please" as I had planned to also give her a dollar cash to go straight into her pocket. As if my personal prayers had been betrayed and tortured, I was met with the grumpiest condescending witch at the cash register. We will call her Manatee; a seemingly fitting name for a woman of her stature. Manatee tipped her 2.00, two, "too" (if you're uneducated), dollars on my card. Seeing this instantly as I come from a predominantly Jewish background, I grab my iCalculator and punch in the numbers; a 10% tip of $8.69 is 87 cents when rounded UP! Two dollars is above a 20% tip, a gesture reserved for bribery. Now, you can trust me when I say I'm a nice guy half of the time. I politely asked if she could charge back my card for the correct amount. With the breath of a goat with an appetite for onion grass, she spat out "can't do that, it's done, it's through". Pointing out her logic and obvious mistake, I assure her that this is her fault and that it is technically theft (taxes anyone?). She's standoffish, so I ask if she could possibly compensate with the chunk of baclava left over in the confectionary display. Like a thoroughbred simpleton, she throws me the "that piece of baclava is worth more than what I charged you!". Words cannot describe the emotion flowing through my veins; not because of the situation, but because of the thought of raising such a human challenges my faith in humanity. I give her one "really?" and escalate to "go fuck yourself" while chucking the blue pen I was to sign the check with. I truly wish the ending could have been positive, involving the waitress coming home with me for a game of tonsil hockey. Life isn't all ups though, and this experience reminded me of the kafka-esque landscape that is working class America. The sandwich was good tho. read more

Three simple words would have changed everything. We have been coming to the Eagle for years and never had an issue. All that changed the other day. I was expecting to eat the entre so I made myself a small salad. When the entre did come out, I discovered from the first bite that it was partially raw. I won't go into detail because with COVID I have been cutting a lot of slack. The big issue is that the owner happened to be walking by so I told him that I needed to send it back and why. Rather than saying those three magic words, "I am sorry", he looked quite annoyed and took it back. Based on his attitude I decided that I did not want to order anything else. When I server checked up on us, I told her what had happened. She simply said "OK". When the bill came, the entre was not removed. After getting her attention, and showing her the bill, she seem surprised that I did not think I should pay for it. Again, no apology. She left and came back later with a charge for $9 for the small plate of salad I had. I looked her in the eye and said that not only did I not get an apology but it was ridiculous to charge me $9 for a small salad. She left and came back and said that the manager is not going to change the bill. I said that I would like to see the manager. When he finally came I had explained that we had been coming here for years and never had a problem. Not only did you not apologize but most places would have just taken the the whole entre off the bill. Again, no apology. With a disgusted look he left and had someone come back with an adjusted bill. He charged $4.50 for a small dinner salad. Three simple words, I am sorry, would have changed the entire experience. When you want late-night catch up with a friend while overhearing an insane person in the neighboring booth speedtalk about an FBI chase, and you find yourself in the middle of friggin Warminster, 5 stars. When you desire a salad bar plate layered with iceberg, raw broccoli, bac-o-bits, blue cheese dressing and russian dressing ... with a red jello chaser, and further nestled with macaroni salad and a hunk of sweet bread dressed in apple butter, and all that is an "appetizer", 5 stars. When you're a native craving chicken croquettes, 5 stars for availability, 3 stars for execution. When you want straight-up veal parm: 3 stars for the fried veal plain, 1.5 stars when cheese and sauce are added. My dining colleague, originally from the area and long familiar with the Eagle, tasted my dish and immediately pronounced, must have been a change in ownership. Tastes middle eastern. And it sort of did, but not in a delicious hummus way, but more like in a Turkish just-add-sumac to marinara and don't heat the weird cheese way. When you want dessert, and go with the highly touted chocolate and peanut butter pie, 1 star. Chocolate should not be (or taste) gray. We hypothesized that the chocolate was blended with whipped toping and gelatin or corn starch to produce the ashen color and insulation texture and flavor. The peanut butter peakes were equally spongy, sticky and dry, with a gross flavor. Urging you to avoid this item. When you want coffee, 3 stars for standard-issue diner coffee, because they made the pot fresh. Fewer if they hadn't. When you want great service, 5 stars. The waitress was perfect, and let us hang out and talk for hours. For her trouble, we tipped her 94508348573874563%, and I suggest you do the same. When you want to be mesmerized by glittering man jewelry, 5 stars - the manager / cashier was lavishly appointed in bracelets, pendants, rings and such. I couldn't turn my gaze away. read more

We've been going to the Eagle for a very long time, but the past few dinners we've had there were just plain awful. I have never written a review on Yelp before, but this time it was so disappointing, we thought it was deserved. I ordered broiled salmon. It was bland, and had a funny taste that I just couldn't put my finger on. Not rotten, but just not good. I was afraid to finish it. My boyfriend ordered chicken cordon bleu with linguini, and he said it was awful. Again, no real flavors. Just blah, boring chicken in a plain, bland lemon butter sauce. Their salad bar is always good. Everything is fresh and plentiful. The soup wasn't bad, but it wasn't hot. I also want to comment on a side veggie I got once before only a month or two ago. I ordered broccoli. It was dull green, limp, and smelled old. Awful. I didn't eat it. I know a diner isn't going to have four-star food, and I don't expect that. Just something edible and somewhat enjoyable! We've decided that the only reason we'll go back to the Eagle in the future is for breakfast. They can't mess that up too much! Who knows...maybe they have new cooks in the kitchen, or maybe their standards have been lowered, but guess what....they just lost two regulars. In all fairness going to re-write and update my review and bump up the stars as they really improved on service and the owners really seem to care about the satisfaction of the customer. I have become a regular here as the bottom line is they are arguably the best in Bucks for diner food fare! A really good deal is the value dinner (try the chicken parm, stir fry dishes) which includes their extra large salad bar, delish cheese bread and all the soup you can eat. I love their little specialties on the salad bar especially the carrot raisin salad and imitation crab salad as suggestions. The other day I had the Duck with Orange Sauce and Prime Rib dinners which were both great. Parking is plentiful but can get a little tight on weekends when crowded. Never long waits even when busy, and always nice smiling waitresses. The price is very reasonable especially for Bucks and find myself eating here at least 2-3 times a week so I must like it! read more

Normally we have breakfast when we have to take the car to the dealership today we had a 9:00 appt and we stopped by at 11:30 to get brunch we both had omelets and juice hash brown's and toast with a side of bacon. Well the food came out fairly quickly for special orders but was Luke warm like it sat around for 15 minutes but the worst came 20 minutes later bother of us had terrible stomach aches and looking for a restroom and we still have grumbling stomachs almost 5 hours later.
