Was here a few weeks ago with a friend of mine, overall the range was nice and I'd rate them pretty highly except we had a pretty negative experience with staff. All of my friends and myself reload so we're used to picking up our own brass. We're always respectful to other shooters and clean up only the brass behind our position. No other range we've ever been to has had an issue when in doubt we ask. One of my friends was cleaning up his brass and was stopped by a staff member and told he had to stop. He was confused and asked what was wrong, staff member got an attitude and said he was picking up other peoples brass and that absolutely wasn't allowed. Apparently brass from another shooter was occasionally landing behind him which was getting swept up. If you've ever been to a range you know this is absolutely normal some of your brass goes over the firing line which you don't collect, other brass ends up behind you and yet other ends up behind other peoples positions. Apparently they want you to police every single casing you ensure you only pick up yours and not anything that ends up behind you while your actually shooting. This is absolutely ridiculous and we've never been treated this way at any of the ranges in the Dallas area. I thought about not posting but one of my friends commented they saw the range selling brass on their website. So at least from our experience it seems its just a money grab for them. Not reloader friendly avoid. Updating to reflect contact I received on yelp by two Eagle Gun Range employees. Because of the professional contact I have increased my review to two stars. However it looks like there is still some confusion on policy as can be read below. One employee mentions that they usually sweep brass into the corner if they know there are reloaders on the line and its ok to sweet up others brass if you have permission (I always check with people around me anyways). While the other staff member states they have a policy that you may keep your own brass but ask that you only keep your own. These seem to contradict each other. I'm not sure who told you this, but they're wrong, and I'm sorry they were crappy about it. As long as you have permission from others around you, you can pick up whatever you want. Facility: 5 stars Staff and customer service: 5 stars Private instruction: 5 stars I've taken two private handgun lessons with my spouse and I couldn't be more pleased. Our instructor was extremely knowledgeable, and helped us troubleshoot and improve our technique and accuracy- the improvements were immediate and we had a lot of fun. My spouse and I are of different skill levels with handguns and the instructor tailored his guidance accordingly. Eagle Range is also very woman-friendly, they even have a "ladies night". Come to think of it I remember seeing signs for kid's events and families who want to teach their children about gun safety, etc. That doesn't apply to me specifically since I don't have kids, but it goes to show they're making an effort to have something for everyone. I had nothing but good experiences with the staff. Personally I haven't seen anyone "yelled" at for any minor mistakes by the staff inside the range. Any corrections I witnessed were polite but firm if need be depending on the severity of the offense- but never what I would consider "rude". It makes me wonder if some of the reviewers may have overreacted a bit. One person in the lane next to me was scratching his head with his gun (granted it was unloaded but that's still not a good idea)!!!! The staff member keeping an eye on the range was very quick to ask him to stop and cautioned him firmly but didn't yell. The second time my spouse was opening a gun case behind the lane, and we were very politely informed that all gun cases were to remain closed up until brought to the lane table. The staff member was very pleasant and respectful about it, and we weren't made to feel embarrassed or uncomfortable at all. If anything we were glad to be reminded of the lane rules, sometimes you're just so eager to get to target practice that you don't realize you're making a mistake. It's nice to know their staff is alert and watching out for everyone. The staff working outside of the range area are very friendly, and thus far they've made an excellent impression on me. We arrived early for our lesson the last time, so we sat at in the lounge area drinking coffee, whenever a staff member walked by they were always asking if we needed anything or to check in on us (I guess we looked really bored). Finally, the facilities are new so there isn't much to nitpick about. The bathrooms are very clean and the premises kept very tidy. The range is climate controlled and the air is changed frequently so you're never going to find yourself choking on gun fumes. The lounge area is stocked with coffee (complimentary) but there's a vending machine with snacks and drinks if you want something else. I'd recommend Eagle Range to anyone of all skill levels, I'm certainly going back there and plan to take more classes and lessons. read more

Unfortunately updating my review. David is amazing. I understand and appreciate the focus on safety. That was part of my previous rating and review (still below). But after more than 5 years that plus has turned into a minus I've stopped going...to either location. This was not the closest range and I didn't use to mind the extra drive. But the RSOs are not as friendly as they use to be. They've taken safety to an idiotic level. Im a safety freak but these guys go too far. And its not just what they said, but how they said it. My AK (like most) does not hold the bolt open. I was SCOLDED for it not being open and had to explain the mechanics of an AK an RSO. Another visit I was scolded for pointing my Henry Big Boy at a 45 degree angle...it's a tube fed rifle! I was keeping of down range with the barrel in a safe direction. And alas on another visit the cylinder in my SW 686 was open...but not open enough for the RSO while shooting my M&P. I get it safety is important. But when you have a knowable safe shoot you don't have to be a jerk. ORIGINAL REVIEW: You'll be hard pressed to find a nicer range in DFW. Very clean, professional staff. Extremely friendly and helpful. Very friendly to advanced and novice shooters. They have a staff on the range AT ALL TIMES. They pay attention to what's going on, answer questions as needed and ENFORCE SAFETY RULES for EVERYONE'S safety. So the person complaining about being scolded for holstering your weapon, you probably should have actually read the clear, shooter friendly ranges rules you had to sign. And to the brass collectors I've never seen any issues. I've shot here dozens of times and EVERY time the range masters have swept near my area they ask if I collect my brass first. My guess is that you probably had a wondering broom. Not the cheapest place to shoot, but you get what you pay for. A very nice rental selection as well. I just took my girlfriend there to shoot today. She has never shot a gun before. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a couple nice employees. First impression it wasn't like many gun store / range, it was clean bright and well organized. At the counter they asked if we had been there before and asked to read their rules "common practice". Offered a few helpful tips for her comfort. Right as we were about to enter the range one of the employees gave my girlfriend one of their button up shirts so no shells burned her "she was wearing a tank top, I should of thought of that" that was a very nice gesture. Ok, I ordered a crimson trace green and asked terry if they could put it on when it came in. Terry said yes. Friday I get a call and they got the red in and not the green. The guy put the wrong number down when he ordered it. I said that's fine, no big deal, today Tuesday they called and said it came in and said I'd be up there so you can put it on, he said ok great they could do that. I head to the store, keep in mind been there couple of times. I take the magazine out and open the chamber locked with no mag in and walk in, John coops up an attitude and says come get a case before bringing in your gun next time really rude manner. I said that's fine I was told to bring it in with no magazine in and open chamber. So place it in their case, John ask if I want a lane I said no I'm here to get the lazer put on, rude he replies did we call you, I'm like no idiot I'm here to pick flowers. But I didn't say that. I said yes they called and said you could put it on. John gets tag gets all info and hands me tag and says will call you when it's ready! I said NO they said twice you put it on when I came to get it, he said yes they call you later to pick it up today. I'm done! Hand me my gun and I'll go buy from someone else!! Lesson learn John!! When customer been told from the company you work for what to do!! You need to learn to honor that!! They just lost a customer and a couple of my friends that go there. They had four guys working and one guy just got a lane, they was not busy!! Advice. Go somewhere that gives you good customer service. This place is usually pretty good had the last gun and put on my last laser with no issues!! Not sure what was wrong with John today!! I purchased my last gun from them too, Terry great guy!! Awesome indoor place to shoot. Spacious, good lighting, and ventilation. Some people may not like the way that staff be all over you when gun jam, trouble loading, etc. but we felt pretty safe that way because the staff do pay attention and monitoring the whole area to a little detail. Accidents can happen anytime in gun range and they were trying to prevent any possibility. Safety is my top most priority when being around guns. Within Eagle gun range facility, I could let my guard down a bit and not worry too much about my "neighbor" having a jam and misfire a shot to my direction. Have shot at all the other ranges around the Dallas area, this one is easily the top indoor range in the area. From the minute you walk in the door you will be greeted and helped to the nth degree, they will walk you through the entire process of shooting there if it's your first time. They have a heavy emphasis on safety in the range area which I love, given the number of novice shooters taking up the sport or just out having fun and recreation. The lanes are patrolled/monitored by professionals who know their trade without being overbearing, this cannot be said about all ranges in the Dallas area. You can feel totally safe at this range whether a newbie or a regular shooter. Lane area is climate controlled and air is well filtered and turned over regularly, so the air is fresh and the temp is around 72-74 year round, very comfortable. They normally segregate the hand gun shooters from the rifle shooters in separate areas other than at non-busy times so they don't have to assign a range officer to each area. Price to reserve a lane and add additional shooters is entirely reasonable, and there is no time limit. Most indoor ranges put a very strict time limit on your shooting experience and some will aggressively push you out the door once you reach your limit. Eagle is a little more laid back and relaxed in that regard, if you feel like leaving your lane and taking a little break out in the lobby it's no problem. You can shoot at a pace you're comfortable with, this is really unique in indoor shooting. Firearm rentals are completely reasonable and they have a great variety to choose from. I think the handgun rental charge is like $5, the only catch is you have to buy ammo for it from them. But their ammo prices are very competitive, I usually buy a box or two every time I go there. Overall an excellent place to enjoy an afternoon or evening of shooting. read more

Meh! Been shooting for 40 years. Counter staff courteous and To, the Range Safety Officer was courteous, professional and helpful. However, the young RSO was on my ass all the time! I was sighting in my Sig P320 in the various calibers using my shooting sled and the youngster was telling me that I needed to change out barrels above the table! How can you physically do that when Tom provided a chair so I could sight in my pistols from a seated position? I'm goiing back to Frisco Gun Club where they care about safety but aren't a pain in the ass to their customers. read more

Great facility! My husband and I were thrilled to find a range within 15 minutes of our home. The facility is clean and the staff friendly. We were warmly greeted when we entered. The rental prices were fair. $25 for three pistols and 10 rounds of ammo for each. As I am looking to purchase a pistol and wanted to try out a few different calibers before I make a decision, this was a great option! When we entered the range, Bill greeted us immediately and showed us to our lane. He took the time to answer questions and explain the rules. Overall it was a great experience. Let me start off by saying that there are ranges with a more affordable price point. You are paying for convenience if you live in the Flower Mound, Lewisville area. The other ranges are at least 12+ miles east or west. I took the CHL class at Eagle on a Saturday morning and couldn't be more pleased with the experience. Holli was patient, knowledgeable and concise in course instruction. Staff are very helpful and range managers are diligent. I have found that i only go to Eagle for pistol shooting. I prefer an outdoor range for shotgun or rifle shooting. I would certainly recommend Eagle Gun Range to friends in the future. read more

Extremely helpful folks on the pistol range. I had my son and daughter shooting for the first time and they were helpful when my daughter needed a little help. As for safety, first class... I'm used to military range standards and given the diverse crowd there, I was pleasantly surprised. I thought they had the appropriate level if oversight without making it like a qualification course where the kids and I are not enjoying ourselves...and that's not an easy balance to strike. It's a pleasure to shoot here! First class operation. The range fee is a bit higher than others, but the place is very clean, better ventilated than other indoor ranges I've used. You can feel a breeze blowing down range. I'm told by a buddy that they actually called a cease fire when one of the two air handlers went down. They have a good discount on range fee for active military and vets (Mon-Thu). Have found pretty good deals and availability on ammo here. The target trollies have excellent ranging options; you may need some help with them at first. They often have multiple range officers on the line and they do pay attention to what's going on. Very helpful when I've been there. I've even seen them providing a bit of coaching to new shooters. I'd call this range very safe--unlike some in the area (I'm looking at you Elm Fork/Winchester/Lee Harvey Oswald Range.) Like most ranges, they have pistols for rent and ammo, as well as some accessories for sale. Prices are reasonable from what I've seen. PLUS you pay one fee for the day, unlike some ranges (Frisco GC, Bullet Trap) that limit your time. I've rarely had to wait for a lane. So sorry, cannot shoot black powder here even though their air handlers would clearly deal with it. read more

We went to Eagle Gun Range on Saturday Night after trying to get into Bass Pro 3 times on Friday and Sat. Night. All 3 times the wait was over an hour. Well, turns out it was a blessing because Eagle Gun Range was great. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and courteous. I think it's slightly more expensive than Bass Pro but it has many more lanes, more room, and overall, it was a great experience. And it's closer to my home in The Colony. My brother was with me and he enjoyed shooting too. I'll definitely be making it my home range to shoot. I have a SCCY 9mm, a ruger lcp, and ruger 22 lcr, and a S&W 642 airweight 38 plus p. But I am buying what will probably be my favorite gun......an S&W .22 magnum. It packs a good wallop without the recoil and it's a revolver. They are close to $700 and sold out but I'm on the wait list. This range is great. Highest rating. Thanks. George M. read more

Went to shoot today and was impressed. Nice facility and lanes. Used to go to that poop chute called "The Bullet Trap" full of pompous pricks, but never again. Had a very good shooting experience today. I even brought my girlfriend to teach her how to shoot. I was pleased when the RO came over to help explain how to rack the pistol she was shooting easier. (Thank you Bob) She had fun too. Saw other reviews about the staff being rude but encountered none of that. The Addison location is better. If you want an angry Hall monitor type guy breathing down your neck over miniscule things that are not necessary to harp on, then go right ahead and go to this place. Examples: A rifle in a sling, with no mag, and the chamber open with the barrel at the ground while you set up the work station requires the guy to scream in your ear about it is absolutely ridiculous. A guy yelling "ONE SHOT PER SECOND" in your ear because you double tap once on a 30 round mag, yet you have a sub 2 MOA spread on your targets is ridiculous. I would understand if you were pointing the barrel at people and around the room being an issue or you were just spraying inaccurately and actually being dangerous with your shot groups but when you have responsible barrel control, a blatantly unloaded and clear gun, and you're accurate...leave us alone. (Fat old guy who was yelling at every other person on the line for 30 minutes straight I'm writing this about you) Have some common sense and relax a bit. And if you're going to confront one of your clients, do it respectfully. You ruined the experience. I'll be shooting at the Addison one from now on. read more

Full auto is always pricey, and this place is no exception. I find it odd that they rent full auto, but you cannot shoot more than one shot per second. Also the full auto experience is a bit watered down. They strap the front of the gun to the table with a sling. I understand if you're shooting big rounds like 7.62 AK or Nato, but come on, it's an AR15. Recoil is not that bad... I even checked off the "proficient" box. They still gave me the novice experience. Personally, I would not go for the full auto again. However, the most redeeming trait of the store is that you can buy a suppressor and shoot it while waiting for the tax stamp to come back. Their prices aren't as competitive as other shops, but the fact that you don't have to sit on your butt for 6-8 months definitely makes up for the extra $100 or so. The staff is also very friendly and the range facility is quite nice. Rental prices for guns and suppressors is great! Just wish the full auto experience didn't have to leave a sour taste in our mouths. read more

I've been having trouble getting my AR to cycle and I went in there just to see if it would cycle a round after I changed a part (it didn't) so I left after firing bout 6 rounds different ammo and whatnot trying to see if it would help so I was in the lane all of about 3 min I figured that was going to be the case going up there so I was just going to pay the range fee but the staff noticed I was only out there for like 3 min and didn't charge me. After usually just going to bullet trap in Plano I'm so glad I went and checked out eagle gun range in lewisville not only is the place and range itself super nice but the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. I went there the day before and was sure I'd go back cause of how nice it is and the price but that is gonna have me coming back for life and telling all my friends to go there!! Edit: went again this weekend to test me ar again (still didn't work) and they didn't charge me again I'll keep coming back and so should y'all!! read more

This is the 1st indoor range I've been to in Texas thus far, so I don't have another to compare to, but have shot here several times and always enjoyed it. I had a private one hour lesson with Keith on basic handgun posture etc and was very pleased with the info I received from him. I don't have much experience with handguns and this range rules may seem strict to some and did to me my 1st visit here and I felt "picked" on by the range officer, but after evaluating improper handeling I did from my bag to table and other small mistakes, I recognize the safe practices they have in place and appreciate it. I always provide my own ammo and never purchased any here, so I wouldn't know if they're prices are good or not. The range is always clean and all of the people I've interacted with were friendly . I currently shoot at this range several times a month and will continue to go! read more

This is place was better than a review I read. I spoke to the person (on yelp) who wrote the below avg review since I was worried about how I may be treated. When I arrived, the staff was pleasant and they didn't hover around me like I had read. Staff was informative, lobby/store was clean and not cluttered like other places I've been. I would definitely go back again. I went on a Sunday at opening time 1:00 pm and it got busy real quick, but there was no wait for me.
