The range is clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and incredibly informative. We rented an M1 Garand and one of the range folks have us a quick history lesson on the Garand and the origins of the 'clip'. Very cool. They have a lot of rentals, just about anything you could want and ammo for a quick purchase. Not priced to move but if you're serious about shooting you are bringing your own anyway. You can purchase eye and ear protection there if needed. My only gripe, minor if even minuscule, is that it gets so busy sometimes there's a few times when I have waited 10 minutes or so for a lane. More over there is nothing to do while waiting over than lug your gear around looking at all the guns you don't own yet. It could be much worse. Completed my LTC here and without a question it was a pleasant experience. The instructor made the class interesting and productive. I would recommend it to everyone from the experienced shooter to the first timer. EVERYONE at this range takes the time to explain in detail all aspects. Here is proof: while in the classroom we took a break and I was looking at the guns in the case, there were two ladies looking at guns and the employee was showing them various guns and explaining everything to them. He showed them many models. I went back into the class and at the next break the ladies were still shopping with the same employee. He had the same enthusiasm and spoke to them instead of at them. I found this impressive given that many times salespeople will lose the passion and try to move on. Kudos for the management for hiring great people. The shooting area is well kept and managed. I bought my hubby a Groupon voucher and we went tonight for a date night. I had never really shot guns before, so I was a little nervous. The safety practices in place and safety officer present in the actual shooting range made me feel very comfortable. I didn't realize how much fun I would have too! FANTASTIC customer service! These guys are so patient when it comes to 'teaching' those who have little or no experience. We were taken into a classroom where we got to first practice with a laser. Then we were taken into the actual range. They had all types of guns for us starting with a 22 caliber all the way to an AR 15 (Is that what it's called?!?!?!? yes, I'm *that* girl who doesn't know much about guns). Anyways, these guys were so knowledgeable and really taught me respect and proper handling. I started off with a 22, then progressed to a 9 then a 45 :) For me that was good. Myself and a family friend and I decided to try this place out. I have been shooting shotguns and sport clay shooting for many years now, but I wanted to go and shoot handguns. We had a lot of fun! The staff is very nice and friendly. All 3 of us haven't ever shot a hand gun so they showed us all how to load the guns and how to unload. They were very respectful and didn't make sure feel stupid. Was a little busy when we were there, but still very easy to get someone to help if needed! Also they have lady's day on Tuesdays!! We will be sure to be back on a Tuesday. read more

The range seems to have poor ventilation and gets pretty crowded because unfortunately, and surprisingly, this is the only choice that you get in this area. I live in Lewisville and was really excited when this range was proposed. It is pretty expensive for non-members. I didn't find the membership fee to be worth the price unless you go shoot I think about twice a month. Even though I reload that's still way too much ammo to buy or use for me, so I'll wait to see if maybe the membership prices drop as they pay off the new business loans. If you live in the area they are really convenient to get to. During the week they usually aren't too crowded. The whole facility still has the shiny 'new gun range' glitter to it. It's very clean and the target holders function flawlessly. Most of the other ranges you go to around the DFW area are pretty beat up and grungy. The staff is extremely friendly. They're not going to brow beat you or embarrass you if you forget to lock the slide back after putting the gun on the bench (which I did last time). I'm a very safety conscience shooter, but sometimes it's hard to remember all the range specific rules. When you do forget something, you don't want to be griped at like a child. So many ranges around here are full of real immature, macho guys that will talk down to you at the counter, or yell at you for something you may just need a reminder about *COUGH*DFWGUNRANGE*COUGH*. That can turn off new shooters to the hobby which is a shame since we need all the new shooters we can get in a hobby that gets demonized so frequently. I haven't really heard anything about their classes. I paid for an ex to take the women's only Intro to Pistols class and she seemed to have enjoyed it. I've taught a number of people how to shoot at this range. I'm very proud to have it here in the city I live and grew up in. I feel that the higher prices are worth it for the convenience, amenities, and staff. read more

I decided to get a gun after some home invasions In my neighborhood. I have never used a gun before buying one from Cabela's. After purchasing the gun I signed up for a new shooter class in Lewisville. The class was great and the instructor made me feel comfortable with how my firearm worked. The instructor new I was already signed up for a LTC class and even walked me through what to expect on the LTC shooting portion. Before taking the LTC I wanted to practice and get comfortable by myself. After the first new shooter class, I returned to Eagle for my first solo session at the range. I was scared to death as it was my first time shooting by myself. I got to the range and fired my first bullet. The gun jammed and I looked down and had blood all over my hand. I made the rookie mistake and had my thumb behind the slide so it cut me. I handled it safely emptied the gun and set it down. The RSO immediately came over and checked on me and sent me to the counter for a bandaid. Everyone on staff was very friendly. I didn't think I could pick up my gun again. I was about to panic knowing I was about to fire it again. The RSO and staff talked to me and encouraged me to continue shooting. They worked with me to feel comfortable again and even told me most new shooters get slide burn once and learn from it. After 10 more bullets and feeling a bit more comfortable, my gun Jammed really bad. I couldn't move the slide to eject the bullet. Panic almost set it again when the RSO came up and said "don't worry, let me show you how to resolve". Not only did he clear the jam, he walked me through each step. The rest of my time at Eagle, the RSO continued to work with me giving me pointers and helping me get up my confidence. I just knew I would be getting rid of my gun because of the issues, but Eagle Gun Range made me comfortable and worked with me. Because of them, I have been to a range multiple times a week since. I now carry my gun on my hip 24/7 and feel completely comfortable with my gun. I am now taking the intermediate gun class tomorrow and I am extremely excited. Eagle could have let me walk out after cutting my thumb, could have ignored me when I jammed, and I probably wouldn't have a gun. They didn't and because of them I am now comfortable carrying a gun. I have a range closer to my house that I go to often but I think Eagle Gun range is way better and the staff is way more likely to help. I just wish they were closer to the house! read more

Lifelong shooter, member here about 18 months when I moved to Tx. They give at least 5 free passes for friends with your membership. I shoot every Sunday at Eagle Lewisville. I live in Prosper. It says something that I'm driving past other ranges to get here. Very friendly staff and knowledgeable. Clean, well maintained and ventilated lanes. The Range Officers leave you alone if you're safe and follow the rules. (Which aren't excessive) They help out new shooters and really care. It's not often I have to wait and it's not excessive. My office is filled with ex-Californians who I've taken shooting here. The RAs are really cool with them and don't make them feel stupid. Their transfer fees are reasonable and the process has been painless. Their gunsmith has added two rails for me on stripped ARs. Did a great job and priced right. I once had an AK lock up with a round in on the range. He came out and cleared it. It was locked up good so it took a while. He did it at no charge, thank you! I've rented a 22 pistol a few times for new shooters to start with. All pistols are $5 to rent, great deal. Ammo prices are reasonable for a range. I did my Tx LTC here, I'd recommend them for it. Just an all around great place staffed by friendly people who like to shoot. No egos. That's why they have all these 5 Star reviews. read more

I am a novice shooter with a few weapons I am trying to learn to shoot. Coming here I felt I was being judged and scrutinized. After notifying the front desk my ammunition I was given a lower number stall and after getting set up with my other rifles was told to move to an upper stall. Trying to then pack my stuff up and move was treated like I was a pain to them. Like I said above, I am a novice and was treated like I was some pain in a ass non police officer. I usually shoot at a different range but since Eagle was close, thought I would try it out. The facilities are nice and clean. However, the employee on the range was a jerk. He was too busy trying to impress some chicks with his so called knowledge and then he just was very rude. Evidently in his mind, my gun was not pointed exactly at the range (it was still pointed down range but slightly to the side).....he picked up my gun (which by way was NOT loaded) checked it out, pulled back the slide -- all without asking me for permission! I have NEVER been anywhere in which an employee touched my gun w/o asking for permission first. I will NEVER ever go back to this place again. read more

I don't have much experience with gun ranges, as my only previous time shooting was in Manhattan at a small range somewhere in the flatiron district. There's alot to be intimidated about with firearms and ranges, especially for those who are novices, but the staff at Eagle Gun Range was friendly and went over instructions and rules very carefully with everyone who wants to experience. Eagle Gun Range is amazing! Great team of highly knowledgeable and friendly employees. I have NO experience with guns at all and took the Basic Gun class last night with Bill and Aaron. I cannot recommend it enough, especially if you're a beginner. They are patient (and not condescending at all) and make sure that everyone leaves comfortable with a firearm and understands the basic safety principals. I was a tough case as the noise and power of the gun was a little (ok, a lot) overwhelming to me at first. Aaron was incredibly patient and worked with me until I was much more comfortable and confident with shooting.
