When I finally found MK Auto - I was worn OUT by mechanics who:…read more 1) were dishonest and opportunistic - many assuming Me car-stupid because I'm female 2) were rude and discriminatory to discourage your return, because they don't like "your kind" (race or ethnicity, unusual Spirituality, etc. - real or perceived...if you know, you know) 3) had sketchy work ethic and business practices (questionable work, nonstop upselling) 4) did decent work, but was unreliable / too hard to get ahold of 5) did good work, but were shamelessly, excessively expensive I was seriously at wits end, when I finally found this little gem of a shop. And I can honestly say there is nothing I don't like about them in My few experiences with them, so far. They are: 1) Welcoming and friendly, RESPECTFUL (incl. never once being patronizing or condescending with Me) - easy to converse with; patient with questions, gives direct and clear answers. Very family-like. Love it. 2) Accessible and reliable. I never have to chase them down to get ahold of them. And they are on top of their communications. 3) HONEST & FAIR. Upfront and thorough. Honors their quotes. Stands behind their work. Readily owns mistakes (I know this, because once when I called about an issue - it was their idea to rule out some fault perhaps on their end...though that wasn't the case). Very transparent. Never tried to upsell anything to Me. No suspicious anything. 4) GOOD. So far, every repair they've made has been a good, effective, and durable job. I have a list of repairs I came to them, knowing I needed done; and they haven't made Me sorry yet. 5) REASONABLE. I know a little about cars, research My car symptoms, repair details, and compare prices. They have not only never overcharged Me for anything - I have found them to be outright reasonable in their prices. 6) Close. I don't even have to go very far for repairs. I'm not one to often do reviews for businesses online; only when compelled by either a particularly excellent or paricularly terrible experience (something memorable - notable). But when I do...in keeping it 100 - I would also come back for an edit, if given cause (I don't anticipate that here, obviously). In short - 10/10, would DEFINITELY recommend. This business is relatively young here, but Majed (the owner) knows his craft AND has a great work ethic. I have only felt more comfortable, each time I come in. A really good sign. I am so glad I found MK Auto - and too impressed not to let others know, who might also be looking for a mechanic they can trust.

Had me in and out in an hour and everyone was very personable. I asked for a general inspection and oil change and they managed to find things that the local dealership hadn't in nearly two years; going above and beyond to make sure everything was double checked and taken care of. Mechanic even went ahead and took care of grease points, tire pressure, and other little odds and ends I wouldn't have recalled to ask for. He also would double back with me to inform me about things he found and recommended getting serviced and/or replaced, showing me the proof of why and offering options. I ended up giving him the go ahead on everything. It was nice to feel involved and informed every step of the process while knowing exactly who was working on my car. They didn't even mind that I just hung around nearby while the work was done, which shows a distinct level of confidence and trustworthiness. Would definitely recommend!

Two weeks later took it to my neighborhood Firestone for new tires and an alignment on the informed me that crazy thing everything up under My Car was pressing except the side frame. I live a few hours away so I wasn't planning on fixing it myself and didn't have any personal knowledge of any repair shops in the area. The only thing the shop found was a bad water pump. However, they immediately quoted him $8,000 for head/head gaskets/cooling system rebuild (with no guarantee that it would be fixed completely) or $12,000 for a new engine (with guarantee). They did do a TDS test on the coolant which shows it was contaminated. That test alone is not enough to automatically assume head gasket or head failure particularly on a vehicle with 180K miles which just had a catastrophic cooling system failure I had the vehicle towed to my house, I replaced the water pump, serpentine belt and flushed the cooling system. I've pressure tested the cooling system, did a combustion leak test and have driven it extensively, it is just fine. Total cost $170. I won't be recommending he return here.
