I was in the area for business and wandered onto the Instagram-worthy CBU campus. I was lost, so I asked a passing student where the exit to Magnolia St. was -- and, oh, would she know where I could get lunch? Minutes later, I was inside the Alumni Dining Commons (ADC), which houses Wanda's, a Chick-fil-A, and the namesake dining commons, an AYCE buffet. I would have loved the buffet, but I was pressed for time and settled for Wanda's. It offers mostly salads and sandwiches, but the Santa Maria Steak Salad caught my fancy. The salad had a base of lettuce and mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, crumbled feta, a dollop of avocado, and a whole sliced hard-boiled egg, all topped with a creamy ranch dressing. A generous heap of thinly sliced tri-tip steak finished the bowl. Generously portioned, it was a well-balanced combination of smoky, savory, and tangy flavors with the refreshing crunch of crisp vegetables. And all this for $9! I'm so glad I didn't settle for the nearest Golden Arches. I left the CBU campus amazed that I had stumbled upon such a gem -- and I'm already planning to try the buffet next time. I came here once for a campus visit and it's pretty good. When you come in, just grab a clear plastic bag and do your own "little shopping" and put whatever you want in the bag. There's a station where you can order your hot food to go (such as pasta, burgers, etc). It's almost like a cute little supermarket inside of a cafe where you can select your juice, drinks of choice as well as sandwiches and salads. There's a nice eating area with couches and tables where you can sit and chat with your friends. :) TIP: The salad kits do not come with dressing. You'll have to get it separately.

Yes, it's more of a cranberry than a lingonberry, but otherwise the compote and Swedish butter are spot-on. The crepes came out nice and thin, but still super flavorful. Everything came together so great. Even the fact the special comes with six sausages after you switch out the bacon is amazing. I would get this deal over and over again.
