The atmosphere was that of a diner with booths and tables, a nice longer table set for a group of almost 12. Specials on the board were of lunch and I was told by our pleasant waitress Amanda, we could choose breakfast or lunch on the weekend. I got to view both menus with fair prices and noted very full plates of specials coming out. One was liver and onions with mashed potatoes piled high. The older gentleman stated, "Now this is how liver and onions should be". The whole table was pleased with many eating that and the pork chop special. We chose to have breakfast and the pancakes were huge on the combo one. Both of us chose different potatoes and both were great. If anything the sausage patty was not to my liking. I like the actual patties. My husbands bacon was great. You get about 2 eggs with the specials. Sandy who is the owner is also the cook and training upcoming cooks. The couple was both there and the waitress staff was on point and actually friendly, unlike some places, this location felt like it could be our go to. Like at home, as some local bars feel, they welcome you. We will try sometime again if we can catch the hours as we just do not get going in the AM out of the house and I never want to feel a rush getting anywhere after 1pm when I know they are closing as most all places do in Lake Placid where we live. It's a little off the beaten path for me and I'm a lazy ass so it took me until this weekend to get there! Arriving- It's in the clubhouse of the North Golf Course in the Highland's Ridge Community. Follow the signs for that clubhouse or let your GPS do the work. If you are familiar with the area, it was formally The Tavern. Ambience- So this is what a lot of folks would call a Country Club restaurant. As I had patronized the old tenants, I was curious how they were going to transform it into an Irish Pub. The answer is they didn't! It looks nothing like and Irish Pub. It's a large space with lots of natural light and traditional furniture. It has lots of outside seating that's covered with ceiling fans and many seats have a nice view! There is a very small bar that seats about six. In short, it looks like a Country Club restaurant. So much for pub ambience! Customer Service- Awesome, maybe seven stars! I had substantial interactions with the manager, bartender, and a server. All were exceptional. Adult Libations- Definitely not a pub style bar. It's a full bar with just a few taps but nothing special. Food- Like the ambience, it's an American menu with a couple of Irish dishes. There's Bangers & Mash and Shepard's Pie. Other than that, they throw in a couple of Irish terms to deceive you but it's really an American menu. There're enough choices to satisfy most folks. See their website. I ordered Irish Brisket Flatbread- Brisket, bacon, caramelized onions, diced tomatoes, BBQ sauce, mozzarella cheese @ $13. It was out in good time and plated very nicely. Plenty of food for the price so good value. The flatbread was nicely crisp. I love caramelized onions and that's the base here. Everything was very fresh. Plenty of brisket. Unfortunately, the onions overpowered the other ingredients, so the flavors were not balanced. It was tasty but needed a little work to be a winner. Conclusion- If you're looking for an Irish Pub, you're in the wrong place. If you're looking for an American menu that has some potential with a great staff and beautiful outside seating, give it a try. As they are new and the staff is awesome combined with the outside seating, I'm going to be a little charitable and say four stars!

Pro Tip- Those reviews on that other review site are deceiving by omission! Read on. Arriving- It is located in teeny tiny Avon Park but way, way, off-the-beaten-path! You would never find it by accident. It's about 1.5 miles off US Route 27 North. They are open for all three meals, but I was there for breakfast. Parking is easy with a lot on the right-hand side. Also, if you are lucky, snag one of the three spots directly in front of the entrance. Ambience- There is none. I'd call it anti-ambience. I was there to dine in. There are three or four tables but what was really happening was people were using them to wait for takeout. Surprise! I dined in and the girl behind the counter acted a little shocked. Here's the deal. You walk up to the counter, peruse a couple of menus, grab a soft drink out of the coolers and place your order. You are expected to pay before you get your order. Customer Service- There was one girl behind the counter, and she was OK. Food- Standard American breakfast menu. I ordered Scrambled Eggs, Home Fries, Sausage & Toast for $9 pre-tip. It was out in about ten minutes in a takeout box complete with plastic bag even though she knew I was dining in! I gotta say it was really good! It was supposed to be two eggs and it was easily three and maybe more. The sausage were cooked perfectly. The home fries were wonderful with a little bit of peppers and onions. The disposable plastic utensils were the cheapest you could possibly buy! I swear, this fork would bend if you blew a puff of air at it. Just garbage! I see why the reviews on that "other" review site are so high. If you presented this take-out box to me at my home, I would easily say 4-stars maybe 4.5 especially at $9! It is a cute diner with plenty of seating including at the counter, tables & booths. We were greeted very warmly and seated promptly. Our server, Ashley, was very attentive and friendly. On our way out, the cook/owner thanked us for coming. Our food was served quickly and hot. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal. The restaurant offers a 5% military and first responders discount. The restaurant is clean, bright and nicely decorated. Ample street parking. There is one bathroom for patrons. Our party had a very relaxing and pleasant experience. Plenty of grilled chicken, lettuce, and Chinese noodles for two people to share. The dressing was very good. My husband enjoyed his cheeseburger very much. Thankfully, they are well spaced. A nice touch was background Cuban music. Wi-Fi- It's available but only for the employees.
