These very popular folks are the oldest independently owned restaurant in Sebring and have been…read morearound since 1989! They must be doing something right. Hurricane Irma dealt them a heavy blow and their legions of loyal customers were seriously worried, but they bounced back and are as awesome as ever! Arriving- Easy peasy to find with no tricks or challenges. The parking is adequate, and I've never had a problem. Ambience- It's a deli folks! Huge blackboards show you the extensive menu. I gave you a pic of just one of several panels. Tables, a covered patio, and a counter that seats about 40 folks all together. Note that the counter has a couple of power outlets for a quick phone charge. Nice! Pro Tip- They have their own Wi-Fi, but I didn't bother asking for the password as I connected to the nearby Xfinity Hot Spot. Customer Service- You order and pay at the counter. The drinks are serve-yourself. If you are eating in, someone will drop off your food at your table but there really isn't table service. All the folks that have touched me over several visits have been just fine. Food- I'm addicted to the Rachel! It's like a pastrami Reuben but with Cole slaw instead of sauerkraut. I guess sauerkraut was a little too strong for Rachel! I added fries and a small fountain drink, and the pre-tip tab was about $16. I've had this exact lunch several times and it always blows me away. Savory pastrami and crisp, fresh Cole slaw on toasted rye makes an excellent sandwich. The piping hot fries were well cooked. I was stuffed and smiling as usual. An easy 4-stars!

My family has been in South Florida for generations, so to be treated like I'm some outsider was insulting. As for the food? Absolutely terrible. The chicken was dry, salty, and clearly frozen definitely not fresh. For the prices they charge, you'd expect way better quality. Meanwhile, the family seated next to us was treated like royalty: their food was brought out to them, they were asked if they needed anything else, while we were shouted at across the deli like farm animals. And to top it all off there was mold in the ice machine. That alone is enough reason to never go back. This place was a total disappointment, and I'll never eat here again.

I was honored to be the 1st to review these fine folks way back in 2019. Now, it's time to review…read moretheir cheesesteaks. After years of devouring hundreds of cheesesteaks from dozens of different shops all over the country, I am proud to announce that I have been awarded the coveted CCC designation. That's right, I am now A Certified Cheesesteak Connoisseur! What's a CCC you ask? We sneak into sandwich shops without announcing ourselves and deliver unbiased cheesesteak reviews on Yelp! That was my assignment today at this location. Of course, I was in disguise. Arriving- From US Route 27, just look for the Lowes signage. They kind of share a parking lot. Parking is usually easy peasy. The App- It's solid and I have two comments. 1.- It doesn't have a "Dine In" option which drives me crazy as other chains have it. 2.- The "Customization" section allows for special requests, which is a much-appreciated feature! Wi-Fi- There doesn't appear to be customer Wi-Fi, but Xfinity folks will be happy that there is a hotspot nearby. Ambience- They have a couple of tiny tables outside which are basically in The Lowe's parking lot with tiny umbrellas. I'd rather have a root canal with no pain meds that eat outside here! Inside there is a line of 2-tops against a wall and you'll find yourself uncomfortably close to the folks waiting in line to order. It's clear that this is a mostly take-out place. As expected, everything is spotless. Customer Service- I've been here many times, and everyone has always been extremely friendly and courteous, so 5 stars. Cheesesteaks- They have tons of different hot & cold subs, but this is a BEEF cheesesteak only review. I used the app and there are four varieties available all with the standard 8" at about $11. You can customize quite a bit but if you go into the shop to order you can do just about anything! For this visit I ordered the Big Kahuna. Beef and extra white American cheese (not Cheez Whiz) along with red & green peppers, onions, mushrooms and jalapenos. It was ready on the pickup shelf when I arrived. OMG, see my picture! This was a monstrous, 5-napkin sammich. Hard to eat because of the amount of fillings but true cheesesteak connoisseurs will drool! If you are a cheesesteak aficionado, the elephant in the room is the roll. This is not an Amoroso roll (Philly readers know what I mean), but it is very good and baked fresh several times a day. The beef was grilled nicely, juicy & tasty, with no fatty chewy pieces and the taste and amount of cheese was spot on. The veges were fresh and an appropriate amount. This was definitely a top-shelf sandwich. I had a food orgasm with every bite! Value- This is one of the most satisfying cheesesteaks you can get from a chain shop! Sometimes you can get a bigger sandwich from a private shop, but the quality and customer service can be hit or miss. Conclusion- If you desire to be a CCC like me, tough, I made it up! This is at least a 4.0-star cheesesteak and probably 4.5. If you're not in Philly, it's among the best you can devour! When you add in the service, cleanliness and value, I'm going 5 stars for the beef cheesesteaks!

History- I had multiple bad experiences getting vaccinated at your typical big box chain pharmacy. Long waits, botched appointments, screwed up paperwork, you name it. I experienced it! Several of my friends suggested I try Publix, so I gave them a shot. It's the fall vaccine season so, as an older Yelper I needed three shots and I like to do mine separately as opposed to simultaneously. This is my story. Online- An absolutely wonderful experience. Well-designed and easy to understand and navigate. Do all your paperwork here instead of on a clipboard at the pharmacy. I hate those clipboards! Appointments- You can go either way at Publix. You can do first-come-first-served or by appointment. If you enjoy root canals, go without an appointment! If you like smooth efficiency, get one online. It's quick and simple. So, I had three appointments over about five weeks. * For each one I was seen either early or on time. * There was no onsite paperwork! In just one case I needed to do an electronic signature. That's it! * In every case I was treated professionally and by genuinely friendly folks. * I can't tell you what a pleasure it was to walk out of the store 5 minutes after my appointment time on three separate occasions! This is how the world should work! If I could award ten stars I would. They deserve it!

Folks kept telling me about the amazing Chorizo Breakfast Burrito, so I finally stopped in the morning to give it a go. This is that story. Arriving- It's on US Route 27 South and you can't miss it as the restaurant name is emblazoned on the canopy. See my picture. Parking is easy and if you have the need there are two handicapped spaces around the back near a second entrance. Ambience- The convenience store/restaurant is in the back and kind of combined. There are acres of cooler doors with every drink you can imagine including beer & wine. Just grab what you want to drink with your meal. Don't worry, you pay when you're finished. There is a bright and spotless dining area with a bunch of tables & booths. See my picture. Pro Tip- I'm a gringo and if you are also, you will be in the minority. Don't panic, you'll be made to feel very welcome! Food- This is an order at the window kind of place. There are some menus on the wall but not everything is included. Just ask. So, I asked for the famous Chorizo Breakfast Burrito- "Small or large? Small please." "Would you also like Beef & Cheese? Hell yes!" "Here or to-go? Here please." "What color sauce? Red please." Less than five minutes later it was ready and plated beautifully. Not too shabby for a gas station! Pro Tip- They make their own tortillas year daily! OMG I was in love! It was piping hot, and the aroma was incredible. It was very dense in a good way. This was the small and it was very filling. The chorizo was wonderful and spicy so expect that. I could also taste the melted cheese. It was one hell of a breakfast. The large size would have been too big for a morning meal for me. It was $5.99 and I'd added a Starbucks drink out of the cooler. My total tab was $8 and change. Yelp reviews originally clued me into this place and as a result, I had a five-star simple and memorable breakfast!
