Javier says our server and he was pretty chill and attentive. Ordered the mimosa flight, lomo saltado, benedict samplers?, and brioche French toast. Mimosa flight - perfect amount for my date and I. Great taste! Lomo Saltado - basically a fancy carne asada fries. But overall it tasted really good. Benedict samplers? - I don't remember the name but it was 3 Benedict's. I loved 2 out of 3 of them. After a late night on New Years Eve...the next morning all I wanted was food. I didn't think Early Bird would be open as it was New Years Day, but luckily they were. The wait was about 45 minutes, but I think it was actually more like 30-35 minutes. We went to the Stater Brothers market in the same plaza as we "waited." You can order and drink your coffee and/or juice while you wait. The decor is very contemporary and non-threatening. I had a hard time deciding what to order because I wanted it all. Slow/negligent/borderline rude service, no ac, credit card machine was down, mediocre food. Need I say more? My husband and I came here and luckily put our name down via yelp so we only had to wait about 20 minutes once we checked in. We were seated and our server was friendly, but didn't bring us napkins or utensils right away...this normally isn't a problem, but I have my year and a half old with us who I like to feed before our food comes so he's not grumpy. Once our food was dropped off, we had to flag down a different waitress to bring our utensils. We ate and food was meh. Hubbys pork belly eggs Benedict had dry pork and the poached eggs were cooked hard. My Elvis waffle was a thin waffle made into a sandwich with Nutella, bananas, and bacon. Once our check came, it took them a good amount of time to come back. When I was leaving, there was a waitress blocking my way to the door so I waited patiently for her to finish taking the order of the table next to us...while I was waiting, another waitress came up to me and in a very rude tone, said "excuse me!" Came in for brunch with my boyfriend. We decided to get one savory dish and one sweet dish. So he got the pork belly eggs benedict and I got the brioche French toast with a strawberry mimosa. I love French toast, but the brioche French toast was not to my liking. It was really thick and I wasn't really liking the apple taste to it. The pork belly eggs Benedict was really good though. The ham one was the least of my favorite but the other two were outstanding and I haven't ever ordered eggs Benedict myself ever. My girlfriend got the Carnitas Chilaquiles and she liked it so much. I've been to Early Bird twice now and I loved it both times! The first time I tried The Frank Floyd Benedict - poached eggs, english muffin, country ham, homemade hollandaise, topped with chives. Benedicts are my thing, and this one was pretty good! I thought the ratio of spinach to salmon was a little off, but I didn't mind it, and the hollandaise was pretty good. I also shared the Brioche French Toast - apple sauce, orange butter, and spiced almonds. It seemed more of a brick toast rather than traditional french toast, and I honestly didn't care too much for the orange butter. On my second visit I was with a party of 13? Many people in my party was obnoxiously late, but the staff was so understanding and accommodating! They just kept adding chairs and tables to our long table, and when we started to obstruct the walkway, they just started a new one. During this visit I tried the Duck Confit Hash (this is what I wanted the first time, but they ran out of it by the time I got there) - two eggs sunny side up, arugula, skillet potatoes, golden raisins, onions, and scallions. This was my favorite dish, the duck was prepared well -- crispy yet tender and super flavorful. I love salty foods and this one seriously hit the spot without making me feel like I had to drink a gallon of water afterwards. (4/5) "The Dutch" Waffle: For those who don't know what it is (like I did), it's basicallly a waffle that has been fried and then topped with a blueberry syrup w/ the full fruit and whipped cream. Nice, little breakfast spot with some pretty good dessert options. Got there at 8:30 and there was a 15-20 minute wait so not too bad. Service was good and it took a bit long to get our food but they were fairly busy. I ordered the Grand Moff Breakfast Sandwich which was pretty flavorful. It had sausage, bacon, egg, hash browns, smoked gouda and tomato jam all stacked between an english muffin. For dessert I had to try the churro waffle which was topped off with house-made whip cream, banana slices and caramel sauce - yum! Parking is hassle-free as this place is in a shopping center equipped with a big parking lot. They open at 6am for all you super early birds. Was looking for a good brunch place to try out while in the Los Angeles area so decided to give this place a go. The place has a very nice atmosphere and it's pretty organized and clean. The food was ok just to be honest. The Jalapeño Chicken Egg Benedict was mediocre, the chicken wasn't spicy and it was very salty but the eggs and potatoes were amazing and also the French toast was good but it was doughy and covered in apple sauce. Been trying to get my wife to go here for a while but the line has been a deterrent , especially since we have a small child. We finally went for it recently and to me it was solid. I like my bacon crispy but this place has the best non crispy bacon ever! Real thick! I got the carnitas chilaquiles it was ridiculously good. Perfect pork! Great chips sauce was right on . My wife's breakfast was great as well. And even my sons. Wait wasn't to bad maybe 25 minutes on a Sunday morning. Little pricey for breakfast but totally worth it. Good service clean place. Been wanting to try this place for a while! It's definitely better than a lot of other breakfast places around the area. I'd give it a 3.5-4 stars. Food: Eggs Benedict (3 stars): The English muffin they used was really good! That muffin alone was great. But the ham was really salty =/ Had to even take some of the ham off otherwise I just tasted salt. Hollandaise was pretty good also. Eggs were cooked pretty well, wish they were a little runnier. Side of Potatoes (2.5 stars): Really salty. I love salt so for something to me salty for me means it really is salty. Side of Hash browns (3.5 stars): Nice and crunchy (= Would recommend this side over their potatoes. Eastwood Omelet (2.5 stars): Wasn't that great. Couldn't really taste much other than egg. Brioche French toast (4 stars): Good, but couldn't really taste the apple sauce or orange butter, it needed more of that flavor. But the brioche was really fluffy and soft and the dish wasn't too sweet so you can definitely finish it all! Fresh Orange Juice (4 stars): Sweet and fresh. Portions aren't terribly small but you will definitely finish your plate. Service was great and place was really clean. They have a board with specials on it so be sure to check that! Recently my husband and I were fasting due to getting our labs done in Fullerton. Luckily we got it done pretty early because we were very hungry. While waiting at the lab I looked for a great breakfast place nearby. That's when I found Early Bird. The menu options were very creative to say the least so we decided to try it. They had inside and outside dining areas. We ate inside and if was almost full on a Tuesday at around 8:30am. The service was prompt and friendly. My husband had the Frank Lloyd Wright Benedict and Zi had the Brioche French Toast. The were both delicious We can't wait to go again and try something else. read more

We decided to visit the restaurant before spending the afternoon at the Brea Mall. We came after the morning rush, hoping to get better service without a crowd. We waited for 20 minutes for our food without a server letting us know the starting our order. We had to ask for more water and coffee as we waited and without an apology for the delay. When out food arrived, the food was not cooked to our order; well done egg whites and over-medium eggs were runny messes. We probably won't visit again since we are not locals and they seem to received better service than us. read more

Our table ordered the Frank Floyd Eggs Benedict and the Eastwood Omelette. We also ordered the waffle of the week which was a strawberry kiwi waffle with cream cheese. Safe to say, the food was really good! As a weekly bruncher, I was pretty happy to find a place this close to me that didnt have too long of a wait. Parking was easy and the service was great. The only complaint I would have is that they often forget to give you toast as they did with my table and the table next to mine. Other than that, it's very hipster and the people are very very nice. Fun brunch spot. Love their benedicts and mimosa flights. Pork belly benedict was a big hit and if they have it as a special, their fried chicken benedict is pretty good too. Their mimosa flights are also a lot of fun, especially if you're with several people and are down to try several kinds. Saturday or Sunday, make sure to use yelp to book your spot in line in advance before going there, the waits can get pretty long on weekend mornings. First off, let me start with the rating was not because the food wasn't good, because the FOOD WAS GREAT! The staff, however, not so much. The hostess seemed overwhelmed and there was no communication, we did online check in and were told we would get a text after we arrived when the app told us to. We go a text and we went back to the counter; there was a gentleman there, we told him that we got a text and he rudely commented no, no one called you. He then sat two additional groups before us. We had to then wait for the hostess to return to the counter. We then tell her that we received their text; she then immediately answers the phone in front of, grabs two menus and starts walking away; we assume that she is taking us but she says nothing; she then looks back while on the phone as if to signal she is waiting on us; so we follow suit. They have a tablet with all this info, however, it is not utilized. There is no communication between which guests are walk-ups and which guests have online check-in, thus it is unorganized. What's the point of having the technology if no one is going to use it. You might as well be traditional like everyone else. Walk up, how many and then you're given a wait time. Now, the coffee; if you're a coffee drinker the coffee is FRESH and HOT! Even with the addition of creamer, the coffee maintains a hot temp. Servers are slow, there is no sense of urgency, so make sure you have time to spare. Brioche French Toast; ummmm YES PLEASE! A must try. Sadly, however, again maybe this is a LA thing, but there are NO sides with the meals! French Toast. No eggs, just French Toast. Same with all the other dishes. $4.00 for two side eggs. That were simply made your style, but no salt, no pepper, therefore the eggs were bland. I could have cracked two eggs and scrambled them in the pan and not have to wait as long. The French Toast was an explosion of flavor in your mouth with the apple sauce, almonds, tangerine slices and the right amount of powdered sugar and cinnamon. It over compensated for bland eggs. The coffee helped too. Food is fresh, establishment is clean and has nice decor, spacing is limited so you are on top of your fellow diners so do not plan of having an intimate conversation as it will be heard by surrounding diners. read more

They serve all your breakfast items like french toast, eggs bennedict, even chilaquiles, but with a fancier added flare. The environment was nice and food was great and I would definitely come back. I got the Frank Floyd Benedict and that was really good. They replace the typical english breakfast with a portabello mushroom. The chilaquiles verdes is good but super flavorful and a little spicy for those who cant handle spice. We also got the duck confit hash, which i loved, and the pork belly eggs bennie. Outstanding menu... the food is still what makes the "bird" great. Sometime things can be busy here, great restaurants have waits sometimes, but they do their best. With the new political climate we live under, it is hard for small businesses to get workers to staff their establishments.... Never mind finding a lot of good help. Please exercise patients and grace whenever you have to wait a bit more than you expect.... We must support our favorite places and be considerate when they potentially struggle a bit. I was never a fan of traditional breakfast restaurants, so I had low expectations. My friend and I got seated 10 minutes after we joined the waitlist. It was 10 AM on a Friday and it was packed! I really wanted to like this place, but in reality it is over-rated. The menu is limited and they don't have many options. Any little thing youd like to change or add has an extra charge. Also, beverages are limited. I noticed a lot of people bringing in drinks from other places. We waited for more than an hour outside when we reserved on yelp and it showed the wait time being 40 mins. After ordering we waited another 30 minutes for our food to be served. Their service was slow and the people working there looked miserable rushing to get things done. The vegetables in our omelettes were very fresh, but our hash browns were partially burnt. After waiting an hour and 45 mins complaining to get new food was not an option. Also another note, the chairs are very uncomfortable. If you're pregnant get ready for back pain. read more

Went here for breakfast today. We ordered the pork belly eggs Benedict which was good and will definitely come back for this. We also ordered the chilaquilles verde. It was a big serving for $14.50. I wish they can serve it in smaller portion and cut down the price. It was just okay but will not order this again. Last was the brioche French toast which we ordered out of curiosity, unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations. For $10, you'll get 2 thick slices of French toast. Not a fan of this. Dear Early Bird, before anything else, let me just say thank you for always making my son and me feel welcome. It's a strange phenomena, but it happens more often than you'd think. A single mom walks in with a small child (or small children) and servers and hosts suddenly see right through you. You end up with the shittiest tablet and get ignored most of the time. But Early Bird has always made us feel welcome and that's due to great staff training so hats off! Get here early, before 9:30 am, because the early bird does get the worm, which means little to no wait times and a less backed up kitchen. Been here a handful of times and the breakfast is solid and consistent. Eggs Benedict has the perfect runny egg yolk and warm crusty English muffin. Even the two eggs dish is good but the most memorable dish is the Dutch pancake. Blueberry compote and fresh whipped cream. Yummmmmmm!!!!! Pancake is fluffy and light, not dense or greasy. Sweet but not cavity inducing. The servers are great and come by often to refill water glasses, hot water, and kids drinks. Went into early bird because I was in the area, and had time to kill. Upon checking in, staff was great. Got seated and ordered, chicken sandwich, kids chicken tenders, lastly chicken and waffle. Waited about 40 minutes to be extremely disappointed with the food. They might as well have served us all chicken tenders. My sandwich had about 4 pieces of tenders, which kept falling out every each bite. The chicken and waffle, horrible. Waffle was extremely thin, and also had chicken tenders. Our server, did not check on us once after bringing out the food. Needed to reach out to different servers for napkins, ranch, and for water!! Finally got to try this place out today. I've driven past it a billion times but never noticed it. It's a small breakfast spot that closes early afternoon so perhaps that's why I've never noticed it. overall the restaurants size is pretty small. the check-in table is right at the front door and I was seated right away. the service was quick and everyone was very friendly m. the coffee was pretty good I saw that they also sell mimosas. oh and FYI the Mimosa flight is definitely worth it. it's basically three mason jars full of mimosa, cranberry, orange and another flavor not sure. I ordered the omelette with potatoes. everything was delicious I really wanted to try the chicken and waffles but the waitress told me that it was on the heavier side so I opted out. I will have to try that next time. Not sure how busy they get on weekends but during the week it was a wonderful experience.
