First time here, and I've been wanting to try this place ever since I saw it on Instagram! The place itself is super cool, and the sliders on a sword are definitely a fun concept. But unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to the hype. We waited an hour and a half for two sliders and macaroni salad, which, in my opinion, was definitely not worth the wait or the time. The kitchen got backed up, and they even had to stop taking orders/refuse service because they were so overwhelmed. What really surprised me was that they didn't offer anything to the people who had been waiting over 1 1/2 hours--not even a pastry or small courtesy item. Since they were getting ready to close, I would think offering some of the pastries that might otherwise go to waste would have been a nice gesture and would've gone a long way with the customers who had been waiting so long. I was especially excited about the sliders because I hoped to try a few different flavors in smaller portions. However, I was disappointed to learn that sliders must be ordered as two of the same item, with no mix-and-match option. After ordering, each slider appeared to be prepared individually, so I was surprised there wasn't a way to customize an order with multiple varieties. Being able to choose two or three different sliders would make the experience even more fun and would encourage guests to explore more of the menu! read more

I've seen a few ads for Deli Needs on Instagram and promoted on Yelp. I was surprised by how many options there were here whether you wanted a sandwich, wrap, kabob, or sliders. They have some good lunch deals so you can mix and match different sliders. I got the smashburger sliders with a side of vegan potato salad. Unfortunately, I didn't love either. It was a good amount of food, but flavor was very mediocre. We also tried the French Dip sliders that were also just ok. I decided to try this place out today and drove there from my house in Newport Beach. The food was good, but I was very disheartened at the portion size based on the cost. I ended up getting an egg cheese and hash brown burrito that cost me $10. If I wanted to add a protein, it was another five dollars, which is absolutely insane. The other challenge was in the picture you'll see that it's not very big and the ingredients are on one side and the other almost half of the burrito is folded tortilla. The staff was very nice and accommodating, but the value just simply isn't there. There are a lot of places that have a really good burrito that have much more in the way of ingredients inside it and cost the same. If he looks at the picture of the breakfast burrito on this Yelp and compare to my burrito, you'll see that the one in the Yelp pictures got twice as many ingredients not mostly tortilla as you could see on the left of my picture. Came here because they have a dog friendly patio, stayed for the vibes. The menu is great, they have options for sliders, bowls, and burritos. They have an epic happy hour weekdays 3-5 pm that are honestly great deals. I love all of the plant decor, and casual clean and comfy vibes. Our service with Fern was exceptional. You order inside and then can sit and the food comes out to you. Service went above and beyond to answer our questions about the meats to ensure it was safe to feed to our 4 legged friend. 3 1/2 stars We came here on a Friday night and there was a DJ playing outside and a few people. We specifically came here because we saw they had tofu and veggie skewers with falafel. However, they were out of the tofu so we had to pivot with what we were ordering. We ended up getting two wraps and made them vegan with falafel. The one with the rice was pretty good but we both thought the Greek was just okay - only one side of the wrap had dressing and it was very dry. In order to have hummus the pita has milk in it so it's not vegan so we ended up getting offered sourdough bread. It was fine but I do kind of wish they had tortilla chips or something as an alternative or even some cut veggies. How it works as you place your order at the counter and then you go grab a table we ordered a bottle of wine. Significant amount of time went past. We got our food and I had to ask where our wine was then I saw the fact that they didn't have our wine and we're going to try and chill the bottle that was out on display. I told them I didn't really want that and would rather that they just cancel. They did refund us for the bottle and brought us a free glass of champagne. I'm glad they made it right and definitely would give coming here another chance. The atmosphere and food was good and I feel like could be a cool place in the future to hang out and grab a drink and get dinner. However, if I went again and they still didn't have tofu, I would be pretty disappointed as I really was going there to have a high protein vegan meal. OVERALL : I was looking into OC restaurant week spots when I discovered that Deli Nerds offers a $5 breakfast burrito option! It looks like they always have this deal as part of their normal weekly specials, but the deal hours were extended for restaurant week. Food didn't take long to come out. Ordered their Caribbean 3 Back Sliders without ham. Arrived quickly and they gave me double tucker instead. Appreciated that however the turkey wasnt the best quality. It was very sweaty/wet almost slimy in texture. The cheese on the sandwiches was a not flavorful. The best flavored thing was the mango/salsa otherwise honestly they were not sandwiches Id get again. I was really looking forward to going to Deli Nerds, especially when I read they had Cubano Sliders! I first had read about their Breakfast Burrito, but it was about 2pm when we got there, so my friend & I got the Trio of Sliders for a Happy Hour price of $20-. I ordered 2 Cubano Sliders and she ordered the Beef Dip Slider. The Cubano Sliders were horrible!! The Ham was like Jerkey, the Carnitas Meat was so tough I couldn't bite into it! I was so disappointed! My friend did enjoy her Beef Dip Slider w/au jus. So that was a plus, but before we left she went to the restroom and went she came out, she said it was filthy. We noticed this place when we're heading to the escape room above them! 10/10 btw Went to go check out because they were having trivia night! Rye came to us and drew us in with a free slider! My favorites so far are the banh mi and the cubano. From what I've had, the food is delish without feeling overly heavy. They had good evening patio ambiance with their lights and flame tower heaters. And, I happened to catch live ukulele music on a Friday night! As a fellow ukulele player, it's pretty rare to hear live ukulele music over dinner, so that was really cool! Music was chill and catchy. I walked into this place, so excited because it has great hype. It has a cute outdoor area and the vibes are nice. I ordered Reuben sliders and vegan potato salad. About 20 minutes after I ordered the employee came up to me and told me they didn't have vegan potato salad and she refunded me. Another 10 minutes later, I received my dry, cold Ruben's. 30 minutes for a bad sandwich and not receiving half of what I ordered was a real letdown from a place that is supposedly the best in the neighborhood. Should've read the caption, since it's only Monday to Fridays from 8-9 (which is good to know for those ongoing). Nonetheless, got one of each breakfast burrito. The girl taking our order was nice, but it took a good 30-40 minutes to get our food, which was a bummer. Not a ton of space to eat inside/outside, but we got ours to go anyway. They put the burritos in boxes vs foil, which isn't the best for keeping them hot. Rank of them was probably, bacon first, chorizo second and sausage third. Sausage one was kind of dry. Rest would be worth the $5 deal, but not $15+. read more

The crescent was burned, completely black and the "scrambled egg" was like an omelet cooked dark brown, dry and chewy. I normally don't return something but I did today because it was inedible. They returned the sandwich but it was dry, hardly any cheese and no flavor. My daughter's sliders were "ok" but nothing to drive out of the way for.
