Second I finally do get it scheduled and they are incredibly rude and reprimand me for not arriving at a certain time - 30 mins early - when I was only told to arrive 15 mins early over the phone - in an incredibly harsh and rude tone like I had killed their cat or something. I will see if I can escalate this with their internal management. I have been going there since I like my doctor for the past 5 years. My MRI finally took place at 7:30 am. Afterwords, I noticed imaging hadn't been sent to my orthopedist and I hadn't received any detail about the imaging in over 2 weeks. When I called, the representative told me I had to go into the clinic, request imaging and wait 30 min OR my doctor could fill out a form for imaging and it would take 30 days for them to get the information. None of this was communicated or stated in the mountains of paperwork I filled out, no one at the clinic made this clear or even said anything about how/when my orthopedist could get the results. Seems you get what you pay for. I should've paid more money to get better service and faster results from a reputable hospital like Stanford. I never would've known any of this had I not called and therefore Castro Valley Open MRI just keeps your money and your records and does nothing else to help you as a patient. For example, I was scheduled for an MRI for my neck and in the process of having the scan I ended up being in so much pain that I was literally in tears! The staff did not judge me or snicker behind my back and I really appreciate that! I felt so embarrassed but they just said it was ok and then handed me some kleenex for my tears. I just wanted to say Thank You to the whole staff at the Pleasanton Open MRI center. There was a dirty swifter and toilet brush and plunger next to the toilet. The main waiting room had piles if boxes stashed all over. The floor was not clean. Sadly, Muir lab was so busy, they had no chairs left available in the waiting room, so I decided to come to this one where there were only 2 people in the waiting room. When it was my turn to get blood taken, the woman who took my blood lined up 24 vials, insisting that the order I had from the doctor indicated that all were needed. Since I am a fast and good bleeder, I cowboyed up while she stuck my arm. As she was going for the first vial, her scrub rubbed the needle out of my arm and needless to say, blood started flying EVERYWHERE! Blood dripping down my arm, onto the floor, onto her outfit, etc. It was like a bad movie and luckily, I gave birth to a 10 pound baby 13 1/2 years ago and am not afraid of pain or blood. She apologized profusely, cleaned me up a bit (I did the rest) and stuck the other arm (good veins I have) and one by one filled up (yes I said filled up) each and every one of those 24 vials. When I went to see my doctor 2 weeks later and asked why he insisted on taking so much blood, he shuddered and said that no one should ever have reason to take more than 17 vials maximum. Luckily, I am a good bleeder and that she didn't bruise me in either arm, but seriously-not sure of the sterility of this lab or the professionalism of the people working here. Survey says.....FAIL!
