The Crab Rangoons keep me coming back to East China Inn! They are the best around! Filled with actual crab meat, they are delicious! The staff always makes you feel welcome as if you are family. I just moved this way and wanted to figure out the best Chinese place close to me. I got beef fried rice and egg rolls. The beef fried rice is very light and looks a little like it's mixed with white rice. It's bland. The egg rolls are good. East China Inn on Oak Street has been and will continue to remain a community place for food. I have been going there for years. In fact, I didn't realize they even noticed when you haven't been there. I had an heart attack a few months ago along with a broken ankle and they created a menu item just for me. Thought I maybe had a sensitive stomach but after reading other reviews (one by latoiya where her daughter got stomach sickness from this place) I'm 100% sure it's their food. Nothing else I have been eating has upset my stomach the way this did. Ordered chicken fried rice and sweet and sour chicken. It didn't taste bad but didn't taste amazing. I agree with the other reviews that's it's weirdly lacking flavor. But this place definitely uses some type of old or bad oil cause I got really, really sick from their food. Definitely don't recommend coming here. I used to come here for years back in the day, I'm visiting again from out of town after moving. and it was good back in the day. YUM! This place REALLY hit the spot and was super affordable as well. I used to have my absolute FAVORITE Chinese spot in Miami which I'd frequent shamelessly 2-3x a month. However when I moved to the NW suburbs of Illinois 6 years ago. I had to say goodbye to Oriental Express too... Luckily, I think my quest for quality Chinese food has finally come to a triumphant end. This place is delicious, authentic, and very affordable, what more can you ask for? I had the Crab Rangoon, BBQ Pork Fried Rice, and the Spicy Hunan Beef. Everything was fresh and delicious, and to my surprise, EXACTLY how I like it and very close to, if not exactly how it all was 6 years ago at my favorite Chinese restaurant in Miami. I've been here so many times for takeout. Good size portions for lunch it's like 2-3 meals for me. They have alot choices to choose from. My favorite item here is their chicken fried rice, Szechuan chicken, and stir fry shrimp with peapods and water-chestnuts. The prices are reasonable. The fruit smoothies are okay here too. Even after moving out of the area, we still make the drive back when we want Chinese food, as we haven't found anything nearly as good! My family and I ordered a few times for take out and the food was actually very good, we liked the fried rice a lot as it is not drowning in oil and soy sauce and has enough shrimp and vegetables to make it very tasty. We decided to eat in the last 2 times and we were quite impressed with the cleanliness of the dining area and the quality of service, the gentleman who waited on us was very nice, efficient and well mannered. Joanie who I spoke with over the phone was rude and telling me that it's not their problem. Unbelievable!!! This violates health code. And we are regular at this restaurant. Very unprofessional. I will definitely complain to the Chamber of Commerce of North Aurora regarding this place. Patrons beware of this restaurant. Look at this photo of this molded sauce. Joanie said they store it in a cooler instead of a fridge. She even told me that I can't expect them to check their sauces all the time. Unbelievable. I ask to talk to a manager but rude Joanie started arguing with me and yelling at me and cutting me off mid sentence. She said Sandy the manager will call me tomorrow (04/01/2016).
