They served alcoholic beverages and a limited menu which was accessed from a QR code. The prices were listed alongside the dish. We had 2 orders of burger sliders, hummus and fries. We had no complaints with the food or service. When we received our check, however, we were surprised to see that the prices were significantly higher than what was listed on the menu. They overcharged charged us $15 more for the burgers, $3 more for the hummus and $3 more for the fries for a total of $21! When you add the included service charge and tax, we were being overcharged almost $30! Did management think we would not notice? Did they manage to successfully cheat other customers who didn't scrutinize their checks? What was most appalling was that the clientele was primarily Black. We questioned the discrepancy and our server went to a manager to correct the check. Had we not done that, we would have left the venue having been cheated by an unscrupulous business. We certainly will not patronize this establishment again and for anyone who does, I caution you to thoroughly examine your check for accuracy.

Again, coming at a less-crowded time was a good call as I can imagine a big group being more cumbersome to other guests at a busy time. The place did pick up in the evening right as we were finishing up. Overall, Libertee Grounds is a great place for a meal, drinks, and activity whether it's for a date, friend hangout, or a larger event (I know they do event bookings for particularly large groups). Just saying!), a concert hall that featured 3-4 awesome acts, a place that housed the ultimate karaoke party, and a spot known for its cabarets (that I still need to make it down too!). When it comes down to it RUBA is a place that is generally open to letting its members paint a blank canvas for its events. And since it predominately likes to center itself on the performing arts that can be a very beautiful thing! Another awesome thing is how little it can cost to get such a coveted membership and throw an event. The membership rate for such a cool event hall and after hours club is $20 a year. And putting on events goes for around $300 which is practically nothing if you can pull off something fun and exciting. So when it comes down to it RUBA is solid gold!
