Absolutely a great beer garden! Independence beer garden is located right across from the liberty bell and in a central location downtown. Stumbled on this place with a few friends while looking for a happy hour spot and was happily impressed. Firstly, I loved the decor of the spot. I'm a sucker for string lights and plants so I was won over. The place is overall really spacious and we had no issue finding seats. The service was amazing and we enjoyed ourselves. I would definitely come back!

Pretzel bites forgot to take a pic before we dug in.

Stumbled upon this place to get out of the rain. Service was good. Krystal was awesome and very attentive. It's a quaint place with a laid back vibe. Good beer selection on tap and bottles or cans. The wine selection could be better. Yes, I know it's a beer garden. Prices are different than online but to be expected with the economy. Pretzel bites with beer cheese are bomb

IBG was great for what it is - a large outdoor beer garden with plenty of space for large groups within a short walk from Independence Hall & the Liberty Bell. My friends and I grabbed a few drinks this weekend and enjoyed the outdoor picnic-style tables. There was a large selection of local & domestic beers, ciders, & canned cocktails along with a full bar. The service was on the slower side, but it was packed when we visited so we expected to wait in line for a bit. It's a great spot to get off your feet for a while & grab a cold beverage! However, it wouldn't be a place where I would hang out for extensive periods of time due to the large crowds & noise volume! I removed a star from my rating because it was just fine, not great. Their bathroom situation is also a little funky with a bathroom trailer around the side of the building.

We loved hanging out at the outdoor bar. It was beautifully covered by vines which made sitting outside a little less hot. There are long wooden picnic tables or metal 2-tops with mini bar stools. There were games to play including cornhole and Jenga. The only food we ordered were fried pickle chips to snack on while we enjoyed a couple hard ciders.

The food was amazing! In no way was it like a Michelin star fine dining experience, it's still tasted great and was a perfect little hangout spot. The outdoor seating is really nice this time of year. The service was all right. You can't go in expecting to be waited on. I know that sounds weird but just hear me out. As soon as you see a server you kinda just have to ask them to wait on you. It's not like a sit down kind of restaurant it's kinda like a hangout spot where they charge you once you place your order, you get your food like immediately after

Great spot to grab a beer if you are round independence hall. It started pouring rain and this was a great spot to wait it out. Cold beer and they had a game on the big screen. Enjoy!!!

Really liked this place. It's huge! Took a video from our section on the side and it was perfect. Adirondack chairs and this side blocks the breeze on a cool day. Drinks were very good. I had a cocktail called the Hey Betsy and not too sweet or artificially tasting at all. Alex had a beer. We had the fried pickles and everything was solid. Great spot for a drink and to chill in between shopping or site-seeing.

You scan the QR code to order food and drinks. Workers don't take orders

IBG is not what we expected, it looked nicer in the photos since the outside of the building is cropped out. It was very loud, in the main area, the middle section with the fire pit was mosquitoes galore with pebbles floor, the back part where the tin can restroom are, was much quieter with corn hole games set up. It's a cute spot for hangouts but not a place for a couple's night. I really liked my drink though. I had the dreams and nightmare (tequila, strawberry and jalapeños) my SO had a beer but it was warm

We randomly stopped by IBG when we were hungry and looking for a place to eat before our bus back to NYC. The place is really big- with a cute back area. You can order food from the bar directly or scan your phone with the code and order and pay from your phone. The workers don't take orders themselves. We ordered: chicken wings, chicken quesadillas, beer and maghertira. The wings were so gooood! Definitely recommend them, I think they put honey on them. I'd skip the quesadillas if I went back. Total of food came out to be around $42. There were big Jenga blocks and a huge Connect 4 folks could also play with. Would stop by again if in the area for the vibes, but would not come just for the food!

Good ambiance to enjoy the nice weather. Went for a Friday happy hour. There aren't too many drink options on their happy hour menu (it was a raspberry lemonade and miller high life), but there was plenty of food on the happy hour menu. I didn't eat anything, but my friends enjoyed the pretzel bites, wings and the guacamole! Drinks/food came out pretty quickly after you order from the QR code. My only problem was that I wish there were multiple QR codes at a table cause my group ended up in the middle of the table and had to reach around other parties at the end of the table to scan the code. It was pretty crowded for a Friday at 5pm but was a fun time!

Loved this spot. I have been to Philly countless times without noticing this spot. The Philly cheesesteak was on point but the chicken wings were an absolute must order. Wings and drinks. Perfect combo.

We were in town for a wedding and we ended up here multiple times throughout the weekend. It's a great location with the perfect ambiance for drinks with friends. You can order drinks and food on your phone and they will bring it right to your seat! Can be a little loud, but that's half the fun and the vibe!

Place is pretty cool if you want to have a private little bar in the back with some shuffleboard take a look at the picture I took. The only downside is they don't allow dogs of course we told them we have a service dog but that is stupid! dogs should be allowed outside at a bar otherwise I would give five stars Fried pickles - 4.0 Service - 4.0

Great place to stop and drink a few brews. Happy hour is awesome and Jenga at the table was a lot of fun. I'd recommend

Ask the Community - Independence Beer Garden

Is there a decent amount of covered seating in the event of rain?

Not really. The "charm" of the establishment is its outside seating. If the weather gets sketchy than the seating options become limited.

    Is there parking nearby?

There's a parking garage about 2 blocks away!

When do they have happy hour?

    5pm - 7pm; Sunday through Thursday.

Are dogs allowed in the beer garden?

Dogs are NOT allowed unless you have a service animal.

Is there a covered portion of the beer garden in case it rains?

Yes, it's the section in the middle when you get to the entrance. The left section is the open portion.
