I have been here several times. Service can be hit and miss, some days it takes forever just to get a refill for my water and other times, they are very attentive. Dim sum places are limited in the Beaverton area, I would recommend it, if you don't feel like driving to southeast portland. They have nice lunch specials. Decent prices for the portions too. When this place went in the neighborhood we were so excited. Finally an upscale Chinese restaurant. We've dined in before and gotten take out. Nice and clean inside and the food was good. Well it all turned south when we parked on the back side of the restaurant. We were absolutely horrified at what we saw. Two men coming from the back of the restaurant pouring a slimy substance from a pot onto a patch of dirt and poking it with a stick. The garbages were way past overflowing and the fishy stench was almost revolting. Someone didn't pay the garbage bill. Nasty!!! I think a call to the health dept is in order. New dim sum discovery. I saw this place couples times but the outside isn't that interested. Today, it turned my mind upside down. This place is great. First, the interior design is very spacious and traditional Chinese feel. Ppl are nice and very efficient. I love it! We will definitely come here more. Dim Sum until 3pm! How great is that!? We always enjoyed the food here every since they opened up. I wouldn't say they are the best and authentic Chinese food, but they are already great in the area! Here are the dishes we ordered the most -- bamboo fungus tofu soup, Chong Xing style beef in spicy broth with tofu, sizzling gingery oyster, sizzling beef and scallop, lamb and break curd clay pot, duck and taro clay pot. On 11/26/16 we went in for dinner. The place was about 50% full and looked much better than it really was. Let me just list out the good, the bad and the ugly. 1- Service was perfect, everyone was very quick! 2- WARNING..-prices are high, no free refills and they don't or won't tell you this until you get an added $14 charge on your bill. 3-HotnSour soup totally sucked, flavorless at $3.95 a cup. 4-LIVE Spider dropped in from the unclean dust roof beams and the waitress came over and smashed it with our plate of food, WTF??? 5- ugg, people, be wary of 5 star reviewers who just opened their YELP accounts. As someone who's tried many different dim sum places, I can say East Harbor is top tier. Not only are their portions generous, but they're prepared/steamed fresh to order. The Peking duck (IYKYK), is a must try. They brought out the entire duck, cut it up on the spot to plate and serve. For those who have never had Peking duck, it's duck served with white buns topped with hoisin sauce and green onions. I'd definitely revisit again if I'm ever back in Portland. read more

Wow, this place is amazing! They have beautiful menus with huge pictures of EVERY item, so you know exactly what to expect. This is especially helpful because they have such a wide variety of dishes that range from our American Chinese favorites to indigenous Chinese comfort food. Prices are decent, and they have something for everyone. Unfortunately they don't have family dinners, so I definitely recommend dining as a group so you can order multiple dishes. They have live fish and lobster tanks. The dining room is snazzy, open, and comfortable. Our server, Patty, was very nice and friendly. They do traditional dim sum during the day and have a special lunch menu as well. The complimentary hot tea is made with Macha, and is so smooth. I would liken the menu to affordable Chinese fine dining. They even have real birds nest soup! Bring your appetite and adventurous palate and you will not be disappointed. We ordered salt n pepper chicken wings (not on menu), sweet and sour chicken, clay pot brisket, and special fried rice (shrimp, scallop, flying fish roe). Everything was delicious! Do not get any saucy dishes. Many of the sauces in dishes I've tried here are watery. I can't wrap my head around why? No one on 82nd does this. Sometimes I thicken the sauce at home and it makes the dishes taste better. But it doesn't help the tough or chewy meat. Stick to stir fry here. read more

We were so hungry we just ate it as we didn't want to wait another 20 minutes was not compensated for incorrect order and the food was NOT GOOD. Marginal at best. This is probably the best dim sum I had on the west side. For a weekday and being later in the day I figure it wasn't going to be as fresh but surprisingly it was. My friends and I were very pleased with the quality and presentation of the dishes we had ordered too. All were tasty and cooked perfectly. (Check the image section to see what we had ordered) Service was awesome maybe because it wasn't too busy but not taking anything away from the workers. We had four different workers check up on us throughout our experience, glasses were filled and they were very polite and friendly. Place is totally different from when I use to party there when it was called The Spot. It's crazy how they transformed this place. They definitely put a lot of time and energy into remodeling and if you have ever been to this establishment from years before you would see the differences and appreciate the effort they put in. I visit this place about 2 months after opening. Maybe they had a rough start I dont know, but lets talk about the food. I will be going here now for my chinese dimsum and cuisine, they out-shined the well established HK Cafe, Jin wah, and Wong King. Their food is fresh and portions are generous. Their service was super friendly and fast, they speak vietnamese, chinese, and english. I even took pictures of the beautiful menu for any skeptics to take a look( they impressed me that much). Well, gang, I readily admit- I have a new addiction! East Harbor dim sum. Brought a friend here today to try this place , and WOW! They have a VIP membership and I gotta have it!! We had five different dishes - shrimp that was grilled before being sealed, char siu nap with bbq pork, steamed pork shu mai, rice steamed in bone marrow broth (I Think). By the time I tried the last dish, I was in food coma, and don't remover the name ; it was small pieces of bone with soft steamed meat that practically jumped off the bone. My wife and I had a favorite dim sum place in Chicago. Now that we live in Hillsboro we were so happy to find East Harbor restaurant. All of our favorite dim sum dishes and an extensive menu. The staff is very attentive and pleasant. It can get a little crowded around lunch time, especially on the weekend but it's worth the wait. Place is close to my house and I had a coupon, so I finally decided to try it. Went with my boyfriend for an early dinner. Dining area is very nice! They have live lobster and crab which we'll come back to try sometime for dinner. We got the sizzling mushrooms and beef, and kung pao chicken. And 2 cups of hot and sour soup. Soup was great! Spent our Christmas Eve here and started a new tradition of Peking Duck. The server brings the duck to the tableside on a cart and carves the perfectly crisp skin off as you watch with anxious delight. Then you eat the duck skin with steamed bread pieces, hoisin sauce. You get the option of 1 or 2 courses when you order 1 course means after you get the duck carved, they cut up the skin-less duck and bring it back to you on the bone. (we chose this option) 2 course means they take the duck meat off the bone and make a 2nd dish out of it. (this costs a little more) We'll be back again next year, or perhaps sooner. read more
