Second visit here--first time was awesome. This time, not so much. The sign says grab a menu, seat yourself, order at the register. I did exactly that. Ordered, sat at a small table in the corner, cracked a beer, and waited. Then I get told I can't sit there because they needed the table for a big group of 10. My pizza got pushed behind theirs, and I was basically told to take it to go. Not exactly the relaxing pre-flight dinner I was hoping for. If that's the policy, they should say so upfront instead of leaving customers hanging. read more

Located by the airport it's pretty cool for kids to come and watch the airplanes takeoff, it's located upstairs so you get a pretty good view out the windows. We ordered a pick up order and I got there a little early and they were already almost done with it and I didn't have to wait b it 10 minutes. They have a beer menu, but when I showed up, they weren't serving any beer not sure if the taps were messed up or what was going on. Didn't really explain much just says we don't have any. The pizzas were good. Was a brick oven style We will probably go again later on just moved to town and there's only so many options for food up here. Ordered two pizzas, one came DOA and as a matter of fact clearly it requested to be cremated. The second pizza was still alive when they dumped it onto its final resting place, doughy, undercooked and inedible. Over priced airport tourist trap garbage. Dominoes pizza is better than this garbage. Not sure about the ambiance I was busy making funeral arrangements for the DOA pizza and tending to the other one on life support. Cute location at the airport and fun to see the aviation memorabilia. The lady who took our order was very nice. But the pizzas were not great. The crusts were undercooked. The pizzas were ok but nothing special. The propeller sticks looked good but were kinda boring and bland and really should be served as garlic sticks. I'm not sure why this place gets such rave reviews for its pizza. We are visiting from the East Coast mainland and were told to come here for the best pizza in Fairbanks. I stopped in for lunch today while I had some time to kill before my flight. Ease Ramp Pizza is literally across the runway on the other side of the airport from the terminal. It's five minutes from the terminal. You go in, grab a pen and paper and circle what you want. I ordered a pepperoni pizza and it was outstanding. The crust was flavorful, perfectly thin, and chewy. There were plenty of toppings, including cheese. They were super quick as well. One thing to note that I don't believe I've ever seen, they offer a dairy free option. I didn't need to try it, but had my wife been with me it would have given her an option as well. Great pizza. I'll be back for sure read more

We really wanted to love this place after reading the reviews. Just wanted a pizza and beer and to watch Thursday Night Football. We ordered two side salads and a pizza. Sat down and they changed the single very small TV to Fox for us. Waited. Waited. Several to go orders went out. Salads for others for made and put in the fridge. Went and asked... they had lost our order. There were literally 3 other people in the restaurant at the time.... That was 10 minutes ago. Still no salads.... **hit the 3 stars and started writing the review** Finally got the salads (the waitress apologized for the wait) and they were really tasty. I had the Greek, he had the pizza salad. Both very fresh and well presented. Then came the pizza. Wow! So tasty! I would have preferred crust a little crisper, but the flavor of wood fired shone through! We had the spicy puttanesca sauce with sausage, mushrooms, green olives and fresh tomatoes. It was great, and so worth the wait. **changes 3 stars to 5 stars** So, if you are looking for a good pizza and a beer (good local stuff on tap!), this is a good place. This is NOT a sports bar. Staff was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The restaurant and restrooms were clean. The restaurant has a good view of the small planes and the runway. We ordered the Greek salad. It was fresh, crispy with the right amount of dressing and walnuts. The salad came with some warm bread. We asked the staff for some olive oil to go with the warm bread. It tasted good. I come up to Fairbanks often for work and I've been wanting to try this place for a while. Whether or not you're interested in aviation you need to come check this place out for the pizza. It's an order then west style restaurant but it works, and it's definitely worth the wait. They're very friendly, and will help you with your order if you need it. Like all their pizzas I got a custom one with sausage, mushrooms, onions and basil. It was fantastic, the dough and sauce really made it great. The location really is the cherry on top, so I'll definitely be back here again! read more

I'm a total sucker for wood-fired ovens and the pizzas here didn't disappoint. Margarita and Bacon BBQ pies were perfect. The owner/manager helped customize an Artichoke pizza for us and that turned out great as well. Awesome decor and view of the runway makes waiting for your food "fly by." This was a fun little place. It was clean, which always gives a GOOD IMPRESSION with me. The decor was very airplane geared and fun. The view of the runway at the airport was very relaxing and fun. This place is a hidden gem. You climb two sets of stairs with great traction to get into the restaurant at a small airport. The view is great. I needed to feed a group in a hurry, on the west side of town. I called to place a pick up order, at 11:30; fast and easy, and patient when I decided to change some of my pepperonis to a few other options (and added sliced jalapeños to the pepperoni - so good!) Another local pizza place on the west side didn't even open for orders until noon (Saturday, if that makes a difference.) Placed my order at 11:30. Note that their pizzas are medium, not large. Great views, good pizza, average service. I've been to this aviation-themed pizzeria a few times now so I can say the experience is hit-and-miss. What is cool about East Ramp is the view of the landing strip and Fairbanks Airport. You can watch airplanes take off and land from the window tables. To order pizza, you take a order sheet and build a pizza on your own, circling what ingredients you want from the list, which is plentiful (you are charged per topping). I like this idea, but what's frustrating is the pizza chefs aren't always careful to make it right the first time. This has happened to me and other friends more than once. Taste wise, the pizza is good. The crust has a nice chew with a little char that is one of my favorite things about a wood fire oven. The ingredients taste and look fresh, but too many items can weigh their somewhat delicate crust down. East Ramp also serves cold beers, a welcome companion of pizza. Service, in my experiences, has been rather stoic. When you order a root beer at the register, they'll give you a chilled can of Barq's. This is ok, but offering it with a cup of ice and/or paper straw with a kind smile would be going the extra mile, which resonates with customer like me. All in all, kudos for the cool airplane decor, views, and quality pizza toppings, but the Red Fox Bar & Grill waitresses (and food staff) down the road are more friendly and are making a pretty darn good pizza too. read more

We are visiting from Atlanta and we wanted pizza for dinner. I looked up the best rated Fairbanks pizza places and this popped up. I have to say driving to an airport seemed very strange but when we arrived we totally felt lucky to get here before 5pm!! The pizza is delicious as was our salad. The ambiance is perfect- mostly locals so we got a chance to eavesdrop on life in Fairbanks. Music was great and not loud so you can have a good conversation. Flights taking off are fun to watch. The pizza here was really good and was baked in a wood fired oven. You got a piece of paper with all of their ingredients and circled what you wanted. They also had salads and some other apparatuses I believe. The only reason I didn't give it 5 starts was because it took 35 mins to get our salads that we asked for as an appetizer and 40 minutes to get the pizzas. It didn't seem that crowded, plus the guy who order after us got his pizza first, and about 20 mins before us. This was annoying and made no sense. read more

From the moment you walk in, you are presented with a classic airplane ambiance that is fitting for the location. The concept is simple, sort of a "Mod pizza" style menu. Pick your toppings, pick your sauce and have a seat while they work their magic. I had heard through the grapevine that east ramp pizza was all the rave. Unfortunately, that wasn't my experience. East ramp boasts customizable wood fired pizza and a warm atmosphere. I tried my hand at a pepperoni pizza with a little bacon, and ordered a dessert that was described as a Carmelo bar wrapped in dough sprinkled with powdered sugar. The pizza was wet, grease soaked and soggy. I was disappointed with the doughs in ability to keep form and was forced to fold it onto itself. Every bite forced more grease onto the cardboard to go box. The best part about the pizza was the slightly Burnt crust. I'm not being facetious either. I don't know what I was expecting out of the dessert.. individually wrapped bite size treats? Wrong. The calzone beast was exactly what was described. A whole candy bar stuffed into a calzone and melted. But even the candy bar wasn't fully melted. The only good part about the place I felt was the view. Overlooking east ramp airport. On a clear blue sky day, there are plenty of windows to sit by. I would not return to this place, nor would I recommend it to a friend or family. You're best getting something from GAPCO or Pizza Hut. read more

Gave east ramp pizza a try, have to say it was some of the best pizza we have had in fairbanks. It was a little pricey and thought it was kinda funny sauce and cheese were toppings they charged for, it was $30 for 2 pizzas so not too bad. The atmosphere was nice, everything was clean and the layout was spacious. The view from the tables was great too, able to see planes taking off/landing and the mountains. My initial impression of this place was pretty good! The whole coming in and ordering and figuring out what exactly to do was sorta a process, but I got it figured out soon enough. One of the benefits of doing "Circle Items on a Menu and turn it in to the front counter and pay" thing way is, about ten people got there riiiight before me, so I was like grrrrrrrreaaat now it's going to take FOR-EV-ER to get my order. Well, if you're quick to decide like I am, you circle the items you want, the sauce you'd like, and the cheese you'd like. So it took me all of twelve seconds. I was able to get it in before the group of ten. So that part was good. There was one table for two open when I got there, a Thursday at around 4:45 or so. Pretty busy! The restaurant itself is pretty cool, airplane decor. It was clean and somewhat loud. My table top had an aeronautical map as a table covering, so while I waited I looked at this neat map. Then I had to Google "how to read an aeronautical map" and read about that fascinating piece of material. My pizza came in about 15-20 minutes. The pizzas are 12". The crust is SUPER thin crust, which I like. A lot of times when you order jalapeño on a pizza, places just chuck a couple on there. Not this place! There was just as much jalapeño as there was pepperoni, my two topping choices. So that was a "yay." The Pizza was just slightly greasy, but not overly so where you gotta use napkins to soak it up. The flavor was really good! The cheese wasn't cheap generic cheese. Taste wise, there is nothing to complain about. Really good pizza if you're sort of a pizza snob. I'd recommend not getting more than two or three toppings, as the crust is so thin. I ate all but two slices. Minus one star for the accommodating but, to be nice, busy, staff. Not outwardly welcoming. But accommodating yes. I'd say the whole experience was like if I picked up a pizza to go and just sat in a library or something. No real "you're at our restaurant! Welcome!" vibe. I will return for more pizza. But not for the atmosphere. Def recommend for pizza. read more
