Lemon Protector - Text showing that I asked them for the "Detailed Inspection Report" that I never received.

I hired Lemon Protector for a pre-purchase inspection expecting a detailed report as advertised on…read moretheir website. What I received was a basic code scan and three photos (two of minor scratches and one of tire tread). I never received a comprehensive written report, despite multiple follow-ups. They later claimed they emailed me the report. I checked thoroughly, including spam folders, and nothing was ever sent. Worse, their inspection completely missed visible exterior damage to the passenger-side mirror housing, damage that a BMW dealership later confirmed was preexisting and caused the turn signal not to work. Their follow-up was dismissive, and they refused to issue a refund. I DO NOT recommend Lemon Protector and would caution anyone considering them. This experience was both costly and frustrating.

I reached out to Jay at Lemon Protector to have them inspect a used car I was considering…read more Although the car looked clean with a highly rated Carfax and Autocheck, I wanted some expert review. I looked at a number of mobile inspection companies and the reviews are horrendous and include inexperienced inspectors and useless reports. Talking with Jay, I was immediately impressed by his experience and he was able to inspect the car the next day. The inspection was thorough and identified a number of issues (e.g. necessary maintenance that had not been completed, minor body damage, error codes, etc.) that would have led to over $6k in maintenance costs for me. Jay also called me to discuss the detailed report with pictures and to share his experience and impressions. Overall, highly recommend this company for any pre-purchase inspection to avoid surprises.

I honestly cannot complain enough about Mavis, specifically the Deer Park Avenue and Commack Road…read morelocations. And unfortunately, the biggest problem has been the Regional Manager. I had to visit these locations multiple times. I want to be fair and say the employees at Commack Road were great. They kept apologizing for what happened at the Deer Park Avenue location and were actually trying to help me. Everything was going fine until the Regional Manager got involved. This is the same Regional Manager who previously promised me he would handle the situation and sent me to the Commack Road location so I wouldn't have to deal with Deer Park Avenue anymore. While I was there, he ended up speaking to one of his employees on my phone. I was standing about two feet away from the employee. The phone wasn't on speaker, but I could clearly hear the Regional Manager talking. Then I heard him say, "Fuck this guy." Seriously? I'm standing right there, and this is how a Regional Manager chooses to talk about a customer who is already dealing with an ongoing issue? I don't care how frustrated you may be with a customer. You don't talk about them like that, especially when you're supposed to be the person responsible for resolving the situation. The employees at Commack Road were actually doing their best, and I have nothing bad to say about them. My problem is with the person who is supposed to be leading them. In my opinion, this Regional Manager needs to either be fired or seriously retrained on how to deal with customers and represent the company. After everything I've dealt with, hearing a Regional Manager say "Fuck this guy" while I'm standing two feet away was the final straw. Mavis really needs to do better.
