Breakfast was very tasty. I ordered the Irish Benedict, I was full after eating it. Eggs were poached and just the way I like them.

Pass this one by. I ordered the Two Step breakfast with eggs, pancakes and bacon. The pancakes arrived "dirty" looking ( clean your grill boss) and the bacon was as thin as a napkin. The pancakes were thick and chewy. My mother's arrived with black particles in her butter. The overall appearance of the restaurants was dirty looking as well. I have never understood the appeal of this place. It's always packed for breakfast on the weekends but to me, the food tastes exactly like what my husband makes for breakfast at home when he cooks. That's not a bad thing. I like his cooking. But, if we're going to fore-go our own kitchen in favor of driving to breakfast and waiting to be seated, I want it to be better than what I can eat at home. To be fair, I don't eat pancakes, waffles or french toast so I don't know how any of those things are. I do, however, eat eggs in all forms, including omelette's and the egg dishes are what I base my opinion on. read more

I have been coming to Easter's since I was a young lad. My Grandpa first took me here when I was five. He was from Kansas and this place was the closest thing he found to home cooking. So you'll forgive if I am a little bit biased in favour of this place. Easters is a small kitschy niche of wonderment that sits literally on the Townline between Hingham and Weymouth. When you enter, look to your right and see a small counter with a few stools behind which is the kitchen in full view. Look to your left and notice anything but the tables and booths because the walls are covered with the worst country knickknacks you have ever seen. there are pictures of Elvis and Dolly Parton. There's a fiddle and a washboard. There is a picture of two toddler farmers next to another picture of a news article about them growing up to be teenagers and still being farmers. It goes that deep. My usual routine is to sit at the counter and order a cup of coffee and a glass of water. They asked me if I need a menu and I say no. They give me a couple of minutes to read the news and then come around and say "what'll you have?" For me is usually a "country breakfast" and to them that consists of a biscuit with sausage gravy, two eggs done up any way I like and... grits. It may be that dish was the very reason my grandfather first brought me here. I order and in a flash outcomes my meal. Did they know? did they just start making it when I came in? The gravy is always piping hot and steamy. The biscuit is always as buttery as it is fluffy and my poached eggs are always perfect just the way I ask for them, just so the yolk holds together. Perfection. This is just a wonderful way to begin any day. I never feel rushed but they do tend to be very efficient. Usually by the time I am done with my meal my check is already in front of me waiting to go. This is great at a breakfast place because it means commuters in a hurry can still get a hot meal but also with the check comes my one piece of constructive criticism for this place. They have an antiquated credit card system that does not allow for tips to be added after the card has been run. So, If you are paying with a credit card and tipping on said credit card you must include the tip verbally before they run the card. This can be a bit awkward. Easter's antiquity is then both its greatest strength and it's only minor downfall. If you are like me, you will just enjoy your culinary time travel and just bring cash. read more

I have to disagree with the other reviews. I do notice however most of them are at least a year old. I found the food ok, the servings are large but the home fries were really over cooked to the point of being burnt. Would not go back when there are much better places just a short distance. read more

Just left there w/an order to go. Am now making the items I ordered but weren't included. Figured I'd treat myself to breakfast for the first time this year and after sitting at an empty counter for 45 mins, had my order taken. Would've loved a cup of coffee but as none was offered, I'm drinking a nice cup of instant instead. Probably couldn't afford it as home fries are an extra for even the most basic breakfasts (1 egg and toast). It's unfortunate too, since I'm disabled, it's the only breakfast place within walking distance but as I'm also on a shoestring budget I can't afford it anyway. I just wonder if I paid for those items that I never got since I was never shown/given a receipt? read more

Sunday morning it is open and packed, gave us delicious coffee while we waited for a table, and we were seated quickly. Good basic breakfast, reasonable prices. Tried this place last week after I gave up on Nikos. Glad I did. The food was great. It was busy, but we only waited 5-10 minutes. It's a typical diner in terms of the looks of the interior, but I don't mind that. The server was friendly, and the coffee was good. The portions were big and the food was tasty. Seven of my fellow Boston College classmates enjoyed breakfast here. We are now in late sixties and of course have gotten to enjoy many breakfasts. We know good food This place does it well and the staff goes out of their way for you to enjoy the meal. Formulating my rating, the good news is there were no unhappy diners in the group of us. it offers good coffee and the orange juice serving is plentiful. There is convenient parking too! We liked it so much, we will return in a month ahead. Our breakfast cost averaged $13 each. Now you have a new place to try for breakfast ala casual. read more

Easter's is gross, please move on. I was forced to come here while we were in a pinch to grab some quick food. One look at Easter's and I knew I was in for trouble. It looks like your typical grease hole but I'm fine with ordering simple food under certain circumstances, and that's what I did. In fact, that's what everyone in my party did. I ordered two easy over eggs, sausage, and home fries, no toast. I'm not even going to critique the food, I'm just going to say that our bill for four people was $55; four coffees, four simple meals, no substitutes, or add-ons. My meal should have cost about $4.50 but it was about $12, figure that one out. I won't comment on the clientele or the staff either, if you decide to visit I guess you'll figure it out. read more

Tried this place for the first time today. These types of places always seem to have fantastic breakfasts so I was excited! The eggs were alright, but something was wrong with the gravy. It had some weird vinegar flavor to it or something? I kept going back to taste it but couldn't put my finger on what that extra awful flavor was. I was so disappointed as sausage gravy is awesome and I didn't know you could mess something so simple up... Can someone tell me what that extra acidic ingredient was?? Heard this place changed by maybe different owner. Went back on Saturday. Still the same lazy rude waitress there. New paint and rug doesn't make it a new place. I agree with Mark T below, it does not look like a breakfast place. Decor is very yuppy-ish and doesn't go anywhere but downtown or South End. New menu which I was glad to see. Had to ask for 4 different things before I got something available though. Old menu was better. But I don't have much faith in the Mad Hatter once they move into an old bar room. Eating at Easter's was the most uncomfortable dining experience I have had in my life. We got to our table and were not greeted for over five minutes after we sat down. Our waitress then came over & plainly asked what we wanted to drink. After we got our drinks we proceeded to wait ANOTHER five minutes until she came back for our orders (by that time out drinks were completely empty). She came back over, looked at our table & proceeded to go to all of her other tables before ours. When she finally came over, I ordered an omelet but without the toast and home fries, my friend only ordered a muffin. She did not once ask if we wanted more water or anything (since our drinks were empty), she quickly walked away so I did not have the chance to ask for another drink. As we were waiting, more people were seated and ALL GOT THEIR FOOD BEFORE US! She did not come to our table AT ALL for the next 15 minutes!!!! When she finally came back, we got our food, she gave me my plate & it had home fries on it, when I asked to have none. Normally, this would be no biggie, until, she said, and I quote, "I guess they didn't read the slip then, I don't know what to tell you" as she walked away!!! No apology, no nothing! My friend and I were speechless and very uncomfortable. Again, she did not ask if we needed anything else. As you can probably guess, we did not see here again until we had to flag her down for the check. For an omelet & a corn muffin, we were charged $23. Pricey if you ask me. Over all this was a very bad experience & I will never return back to Easter's in Weymouth. read more

My son and I have been sick for 2 days now after eating there .I had my family of 4 and the bill was $68.73 before the tip and we had normal breakfast items ,no to mention how dated the interior is the seats are uncomfortable and it smells! Even though it's located in a fairly busy suburban area, this little breakfast and lunch place is what you would expect to find in a small town. Homey, friendly, a little quaint. Though I just had coffee and a cinnamon roll, I watched what was coming out of the kitchen, and it looked great. I was there late in the morning, and it was still quite busy. read more

This place is the very epitome of medicocrity. The place is hilariously decorated (in a good way!) and the service was exceedinly polite and friendly. However, the food ... oh, the food. The undrinkable coffee, the canned hash, the skimping on the cheapest of cheeses (American) in the omelettes ... I've had tastier breakfasts at drive-throughs. I don't know how the folks evaluating this place as "cheap" are running the numbers. Omelettes were $7.50, pancakes over 6 bucks and the undrinkable coffee was $2.25. It is not cheap and it is in no way worth the $9-10/person you'll end up spending. I feel a twinge of guilt because the folks here really are very nice and kind but I can't, in good conscience, recommend this place. read more

if you like good food at all please ignore the other reviews on here as i have no idea how this could possibly get any stars at all.......we ordered a turkey club. the turkey was absolutely disgusting gelatenous slimy water logged squishy --i have no idea where you could ever even buy anything that poor quality--i have never in my life even seen turkey like that.....the fries were barely cooked. the meal was totally inedible. the country breakfast with sausage gravy over biscuits was horrible and went right in the trash. the meal was the poorest quality and most disgusting i have ever been served. to top it off the spoon arrived with dried food caked onto it. this is a very honest, realistic review. do not spend your money here, it is food that should go straight into the garbage..... read more
