Very threatening towards me as a sales rep. I did nothing but say who I was and what company I worked for. And he threatened lucky I didn't call the cops and shut his business down for threats. I don't recommend doing business with this guy in any way shape or form very unprofessional. Police report has been filed No right to treat people like that. I came here for some simple maintenance on my car, an oil change and to get my brakes look at. Bruce yelled at me the whole time, basically talked down to me, belittled me that I didn't know the "right" answers to his questions about my car. I brought it here for a reason, I didn't know I had to tell him how to do his job. This "man" has some serious anger issues, and the lady at the front desk is not much better. From the rest of the reviews of this place I see this is a normal thing. What a horrible way to treat paying customers. I suggest no one come here. If I could give 0 stars if I could... The guy who answered the phone needs to go to anger management training. I called to find out whether I should return the SmartStart on a vehicle I just purchased (these guys installed it) and he told me I committed a felony. I said it was a voluntary install and I just need to figure out where to return it. He berated me some more with a raised voice. I told him I don't need a lecture, I just need to know where to return it, and he hung up on me. When I called back, they let the phone go to voicemail. We were forewarned that the owner was gruff, but I never expected to have to potentially call the cops. The owner threatened to assault my partner in the parking lot when he was trying to hand paperwork back to the lady that was helping him. One of them was calm through the whole encounter and it was not the business owner... I do not recommend. read more

This place and staff are GARBAGE!!!!! The only reason I had contact with this horrible establishment is because I needed the Smart Start interlock device installed and they were the closest. Take this back to March 2022. I make an appointment to get it installed in my 2016 Mercedes. What should have taken a few hours max, took two days! The aggressive older bald male had informed me that they haven't installed one before on my car and was on the phone with service to help them through it. When it was done I went on my merry way.....that is until my hybrid car shut off completely three times on my way because the device was installed incorrectly. I called the 800 number and they directed me to their main office on Ne 105th. Boy what a 180! The staff at the location on Ne 105th were AMAZING! Knowledgeable, kind, patient, HONEST!!! And it only took them 45 minutes to install it properly. Now fast forward to 10/14/2022. I go to the service location on 105th to find out they are temporarily closed, so for my monthly calibration I had to go back to this place. I asked why the other shop was closed and he said computer updates. I then told him how they fixed my device and installed it properly and it's been working fine since. He didn't like that I insinuated that they didn't do the job correctly the first time I brought it to them, and then the 'fucks' came out of his mouth. Very unprofessional AND intimidating from a man to myself. My car was hooked up to their computer for 2.5 hours and still didn't work. I called customer service to talk to them about what was going on at the location. When the lady in the front heard me on the phone with them she became very rude towards me, unhooked the smart car device from my car which then gave it a code that read Errcode and gave me 48 hours. She told me she didn't know what that meant and that she was going to look it up, but I know she unhooked my car un properly more than likely forcing that code so that my car would be locked out before the weekend was over and I wouldn't be able to start my car without a lock out code. I have filed a complaint with the regional manager in regards to the smart start device portion. I have never used their services for automotive, nor would I ever looking at the place. This review is just a warning to anybody who has to use the interlock device in their car. It would be advisable to drive anywhere else. Vancouver, Aloha, anywhere but this place! read more

Bruce is the shop's owner, and primary tech. He does a great job. They specialize in installing, servicing, and removing SmartStart DUII ignition interlock devices however, they also perform automotive service from the basics to transmissions. I was there to have an interlock device put in my car and serviced; I have been coming back to them for a year now and cannot make a better reccomendation! Bruce has a tough personality but he is honest. Honesty is hard to find in the automotive industry and I value that. read more

I was not pleased with the price I had to pay, and I was not gracious enough when I handed him my credit card, so he decided to try to scold me like a child. I did the smart smart program at Eastside automotive and they were awesome. Bruce and Amber were helpful and I had no issues for the entire 9 months. Smart is a nightmare but Eastside made it as pleasant as possible. This is a great local shop with fair prices and I would highly recommend. read more

The owner Bruce has some serious rage issues. I have been there twice to calibrate my Interlock, and I noticed both times him talking to customers like they were idiots. The two employees there don't seem to communicate who is in what order in line or where they have told people to park. When Bruce came out to yell at me for parking where I was told, I kinda gestured like "what now?" Apparently that was the wrong thing to do, because he then proceeded to cuss at me and tell me how nice he is. I mentioned how he treats his customers like cattle, and he screamed at me to never F$%@ing come back and that he's the owner. I said that I was happy to never come back and was trying to leave, but he wouldn't let me, and kept on yelling at me. I get the feeling that he is used to people coming to his shop simply because they are required by law to have an Interlock in their car. Bruce takes his customers for granted and should maybe let someone a little more friendly handle the public. read more

I was treated extremely rudely, disrespectfully and threatened by the owner Bruce. He really does not seem to care about his customers and acts like you're supposed to be lucky he even serves you. It seems that even his best reviews state that Bruce "is tough but honest". I would agree he's tough but honestly he is so very difficult, defensive, and angry that I could not work with him or trust him with my car. When I tried to tell him that previous work that he did was causing my car to malfunction he got very defensive and at one point he actually raised his arm and clenched his fist and started to yell at me--I have it on video. I've never experienced anyone who has overreacted so badly to polite criticism of legitimate workmanship issues. I felt threatened and thought he was ready to physically beat me up. There are other options for auto repair in East Portland that don't require dealing with "tough", mean, and threatening people like Bruce and Amber of Eastside Automotive Solutions. This one star is for the terrible receptionist. I called over a period of two weeks, trying to schedule an appointment for what is now tomorrow. I work and go to school during their business hours and left a few messages, as their voicemail encouraged you to do so and they will call back asap. Today I take a special break from work to call yet again. The receptionist informs me that she doesn't actually listen to the messages, and probably 4 or 5 times SCOLDS me for waiting to the last minute. I try to explain to her that it doesn't make any sense that she would scold me when I've been leaving messages for two weeks and that's not a very nice way to treat a customer and she proceeds to hang up on me. I didn't tell or swear or say anything mean. Best thing is that I checked my logs and I did try to call during business hours a couple of times and got the voicemail, which is apparently completely useless. Wow. Just WOW.
