Usually love everything about Easy Bistro! One of my family's favorite places to visit when they come to town to see me. My partner and I went last night to celebrate his new job as well as me finishing teaching 3rd grade summer school! My brother had the whole fish the last time he was in town and I was so jealous of it. I ordered it last night and it was so salty it was completely inedible. I spoke to the waitress and she was very apologetic and offered to get me something else to eat. Unfortunately we had time sensitive plans so I just ate my side and shared my boyfriends very tasty wagyu. A very disappointing $41 spent on a fish I could barely stomach two bites of. read more

Nice little bistro style restaurant in downtown Chattanooga. A few quick thoughts, the service, oysters, pasta and desserts were amazing. The steak, not so much. The meat was flavorful but very chewy, not something you would expect when the restaurant sells it as Wagyu beef. Yes, it's a top sirloin cut but it still shouldn't take that much effort to eat it. Nonetheless, the homemade pasta, with the shaved truffles, definitely made up for it. So did the oysters which were fresh, briny. The shrimp cocktail was also really well done. You do have to peel the shrimp but no bother there. The two desserts, the ice cream sandwich, smothered table side in a nice chocolate sauce, and the coffee pudding were a great way to finish the meal. The restaurant has a great wine selection although my consistent complaint, invest in a cooler for your red wines by the glass. No one likes to drink 75 degree red wine that's kept on top of the counter! Do not understand restaurants that spend so much time on preparing tremendous food, but can't get their wine served at the right temp. But, I digress because it's way to common. Overall, it's a great spot and by far the best meal we had over the four days spent in Chattanooga. read more

Easy Bistro served us the BEST meal I have had in Chattanooga last night!! They had a great raw bar (superb fresh oysters), lovely cocktails and wine selection, small plates (fennel and cauliflower soup, calamari strozzapreti) and the showstopper fish of the day (bass) which was cooked to perfection. Kudos again to the kitchen!!! Plating was gorgeous- our waiter was so attentive and knowledgeable (so sorry we did not get his name!!!!) - patio seating fine on a springish chatt evening. EB is so dependable - every time we go the food and wait staff are exceptional. It's our go to place for a chill fun vibe with fabulous food. Recommend for client meeting, biz meeting or a dinner with friends. The manager even came out and gave us a heavenly cream brûlée!! Top notch - THANK YOU EB team!!! Will be back soon! read more

I barely even made it in the door before I could sense the pretentious atmosphere. Many of the tables were reserved, which I understand. But I told the hostess we had 2 in our party and she looked around like she saw a place she could get us in. Until I mentioned that we also had a baby and stroller (we had been walking around, not intending to take her to a restaurant with a stroller.) She smugly looked out the window to see our stroller, looked back at her chart and immediately said she didn't have room for 3. I'm not upset that the place was busy, it was a Sunday evening. I just think if you work in a customer service job, especially being the first person someone talks to when coming into the restaurant, maybe you should have better customer service skills. Not only was she rude to me, my Dad went in to ask about recommendations, and he walked out with the exact same impression. I definitely will not be returning to this place, with or without a stroller. read more

Very confusing seating situation. They tell you open seating at the bar but I guess that's not true. So sad this place can't figure it out.

Closes at 9 pm. How disappointing. It is located in the middle of a busy section too. Go next door.

Very clean and edgy restaurant. Creative drink and phenomenal food menu. Oysters were fantastic! Toast with Ramps brought a local flair to the menu. If you love fish, grab the "whole fish" and enjoy something amazing. read more

My fiancé and I visited Easy Bistro last night while on a trip from Knoxville and had one of the BEST dining experiences we've had in years! We consider ourselves "foodies" and were looking for the top restaurants in Chattanooga. We ate lunch at Main Street Meats (also a phenomenal experience) which is a sister restaurant to Easy Bistro. Our waitress there recommended this restaurant for dinner, and boy are we glad she did! We did not have a reservation, so we got the choice to sit at the cocktail bar or the raw bar. We sat at the raw bar right in front of all the kitchen action, which was such a treat. We got to know one of the chefs, Joe, and a new employee, Kim, while they went to work preparing every single dish. From our first course to our last, all of the food was DELICIOUS. My fiancé and I always say how hard it is to find good seafood in a landlocked state (he is from Baltimore so expectations are high!), but the oysters at this restaurant did not disappoint. Their pasta is made in-house, and our dish was nothing short of extraordinary, made with a savory lamb ragu. We also had a pb&j foie gras that was out of this world, and a decadent puff pastry (toasted to a perfect crisp) with vanilla ice cream and warm chocolate sauce for dessert. Between our server Emily's menu recommendations, Joe and Kim's outgoing friendly demeanor and knowledge of the food, and the industrial chic atmosphere of the restaurant, our evening was made special from start to finish. We will most definitely be back to Easy Bistro in the future and will be telling all our friends about this absolute gem in Chattanooga!! read more

We came to Easy Bistro for dinner with our kids. The experience was a bit of love and hate... The restaurant was very pretty inside and things started out very well. We had two cocktails - the Capablanca and the West Side Smash, both were amazing and really started things off on a positive note. The waitress explained that everything can be shared, so we ordered the Steak Tartare, the White Bean and Kale Soup, the Whole Roasted Fish of the Day (1.5 lbs Beeliner Snapper), and a side of Broccoli. The kids ordered from the kids menu, the Buttered Pasta and the Chicken Fingers and Fries. The kids enjoyed their food very much. For us, while I enjoyed the Steak Tartare and the Broccoli, I didn't find the soup to be particularly impressive. I thought the fish was good but a little fishier than I expected - and I know my fish because I grew up next to the ocean. Husband enjoyed the fish but found the Broccoli to be poor. All of this would have been fine but the worst part of the meal was the dessert. Since we are unfamiliar with the restaurant, we asked our waitress for her favorite dessert. She suggested the Truffle Ice Cream with sorghum pop and nutmeg. It sounded interesting and we weren't sure what to expect so we took her recommendation. The kids shared the Profiteroles, which comes in two and was perfect size for them. To our astonishment, our dessert came in a little bowl with just a small scoop of ice cream, and some tiny pieces of popcorn that looked like the bottom of a popcorn bag. No matter how hard I tried, I could not taste any "truffle" in the ice cream. It just tasted like a small scoop of vanilla ice cream to me. And the popcorn? I certainly couldn't taste any sorghum or nutmeg. It just tasted like it had a little salt on them. I'm not saying the dessert didn't have truffle or sorghum or nutmeg, it's just that neither one of us could taste it, and if anyone says they could, I would like to give them a blind taste test between a scoop of that and a scoop of Breyers Vanilla Ice Cream, honestly. So this was a disappointing end to our meal, and I guess overall looking back at it, the restaurant felt more pretentious than necessary. I'm not a total food connoisseur, but I'm familiar with what truffle should taste like and what sorghum should taste like, this just really missed the mark. read more

I haven't eaten at easy bistro yet. But I recently made a reservation for 2 that I needed to update to 6 and move from the patio to inside. Yes a big feat that I knew was a long shot. The employee on the other line was very accommodating. He gave me many options and after finding flexibility in my time, he was able to successfully make the update in a friendly and professional way. This is an experience I don't receive much. I foresee the service when I actually eat at Easy Bistro will be as great as my phone call today. read more

This place really gets me. I really like dining here for multiple reasons. Number one: the service is fantastic. Everyone seems to know what they're doing and realize that people who are dropping a fair amount of money expect not just good food but good service. Number two: the food is excellent. It's a restaurant so you expect the food to be good. EB exceeds expectations every time I come in (which is not that frequently). The gramigna is fantastic. And who knew a side dish of mushrooms could be such a special thing. My only complaint here is the shrimp cocktail. Peel and eat? Really? I wasted my lemon wedge on a shell I had to peel off myself. And if you're going to serve four pieces, they should at least be big. I say a lot of this half-jokingly or at least in a good-natured ribbing manner but take the hint. Number three: the cocktails and wine list are really good. Tonight I had a Clear Conscience and a glass of the Joseph Swan Syrah. Both excellent. Which brings us to the bar. The bar itself is a beautiful backdrop with two serious looking bartenders working in its midst. There is nothing more satisfying then watching both of these guys enjoy a drink for themselves at the end of the evening as things quiet down. Which finally brings me to number four: Karl. Second time around with Karl who embodies "excellent wait staff." Attentive and knowledgeable, friendly without being overly familiar. Karl gets you an extra star otherwise it would be four for the shrimp cocktail. All in all, Easy Bistro is one of the best things going in Chattanooga. read more

My girlfriend and I decided to come here for my birthday dinner, and we were not let down. Our server Rylan really made our experience amazing. He had great recommendations. We sat at the raw bar in front of the wood stone oven, which was perfect woth the cooler weather. Amelliano was tending to the oven, and he was very informative and friendly. Every dish we had was amazing: oysters, little gems lettuce, roasted cauliflower and broccoli, and the strozzapreti. We will most certainly be back. read more

We frequent Chattanooga from Nashville and have enjoyed dining at Alimentari. We learned now it is the Easy Bistro and Bar. We enjoyed the new concept and the food was great. We ordered the lobster, mushrooms, potatoes, broccoli, Wagyu beef, and pasta dishes. No judgement - they are small plates. Ha! Our faves were the mushrooms, lobster and pasta. We appreciated their variations on what one might consider basic dishes. The beef was excessively fatty and "stringy" to cut. Overall, we enjoyed our meal. Our waiter Cecil was attentive and informative. The Easy Bistro and Bar was "easy" on our palates. We will be back! read more

Very disappointed in what use to be one of my favorite restaurants. I had dined here last October and was surprised by the new menu. My favorite Easy salad was no longer on the menu so I tried the frisée salad. Presentation was good but it was very difficult to eat. I didn't like have to use a knife to cut every bite. I also ordered the mussels which were fine but not as tasty as I remember. So this week I attended a birthday dinner with 8 present. Drink orders were very slow to get to our table....It was a Monday at 7 and we were one of two tables at the time we arrived. I ordered the Wagyu bavette steak. It was so salty I couldn't eat it. Felt like I was eating a salt lick. I had to send it back. I do not recommend ordering that dish. Our orders came out at different times with a chicken dish coming out very late after everyone else had finished eating. The excuse was it takes a long time to cook chicken....Hmmm. Anyway, I usually give restaurants three strikes you're out, but I have to say I will not be returning. Again the old menu was much better. New menu doesn't have the variety and the prices are high for what you get. Unfortunate as this is a fun location but location doesn't make up for mediocre food.
