I chose to come to this place from reading high reviews. Well it did not disappoint. I came for a gel manicure, which I personally didn't think they had too many colors to choose from. I had originally wanted two contrasting colors to have my ring finger painted differently, but I was still able to find one pretty color to go with. Maybe I'm just too picky. Amy did a great job in cutting and cleaning my cuticles along with shaping my nails to my liking. She was kind and patient with me deciding on colors. She also said color should last at least two weeks, which it went way over three weeks with no chipping of any kind. The only thing that made them look ugly after that was my nails growing out, but of course, they're not to blame. I would recommend and come back to this place! read more

I would put 3 1/2 stars if I could !! First off, I wanted to take off the current set of nails I had and get a new set but for some reason the guy was very confused about my request and kept insisting that I just get a fill (which was annoying) I think he did a great job on the acrylics themselves and I like the shape. My last complain was that since I was the last person at the shop they seemed so eager to leave that he painted my nails quite sloppy. Found Expert Nails & Spa after searching on Yelp. Called and spoke with Tom at 7pm close to closing time to see if they had time to give me and my mom manis and pedis. He said that they could. We arrived at their spa and it was super clean, cleaner than other places I've been to in the area. We were attended to very quickly and everyone there was super friendly. They did a great job and it was reasonably price for the quality! Gel manicure and regular spa pedicure was $33. I will definitely come back. They also have a rewards card where you get $10 off after 10 visits. They are located near the corner of Montebello and Whittier. I came here for a gel mani and regular pedi. I booked my appointment at 5, but no one served me til 5:15.. and somehow I was still out in about an hour. I really hate it when I make an appointment and people are late, but if I'm out in the time I expected to be out, I could care less. Both the mani and pedi lasted about 3 weeks. I called the nail shop before driving there and asked If I could still go in for a full set since it was less than an hour close to closing time and they said yes. I arrived to the Nail shop about 30-40mins close to closing and Tom did my full set of Acrylic nails just as I asked him too. The exact color, design and length which I loved! Although it was cutting close to closing time, he did not rush through to finish my nAils and gave me great customer service. Very clean and sanitized following Covid guidelines. After about half an hour looking for good reviewed nail salons near me i came across Expert Nails & Spa, I was a little if about going to this place because I read a couple of awful reviews but I decided to give it a shot since it was one of the top 3 salons with the overall best reviews. They open at 9:30 am, I called a little before they opened to ask how much for a pedi. Prices are fair $18 for regular pedi $30 for gel .. as soon as I walked in I was greeted nicely and thankfully there was no waiting time so I was quickly seated. The lady was so kind! She made me feel comfortable and even turned on the message chair without me having to ask, I thought that was nice. Anyways, although at first being skeptical about the place I ended up liking the final results of my pedi. I would definitely recommend going in the morning simply because it's not so busy so besides not having to wait it's nice, quiet, and calm. Will never come back , they talk in their language the whole time , the lady doing my pedicure I asked her to change the color I didn't like it after that she was extremely upset and when she was done she walked away didn't say a word. My mother got acrylic gel nails and the man kept yelling at her telling her not to move . Polish on both nails and toes were thick and lumpy ... literally the NEXT MORNING my gel on my my nails was peeling off. Today is Monday and the polish was about 85% gone . Michael worked on my nails and was great work, I just felt my thumbs were a little big and his application of the powder was a little messy that's why I gave 4 stars. Been coming to this nail place for 2 years, specify for one very great nail tech. The location is nice and clean, the gel color selection is also great! Unfortunately the manager "Tom" is not very nice especially to his employees and makes you feel uncomfortable and rushed. The employees are trying to provide great services but he's walking by talking to them and rushing them...not even allowing them to talk to you, all he wants is your money for crappy work. I DO NOT recommend this place ! I showed up at 6:30pm to get my legs waxed acrylics and pedi done.. the guy working there said to give him 20/30 mins that someone will come and assist me but nope no one did so as I was waiting the owner told me around 7:30ish that they weren't going to be able to assist me because they close at 8:00 8:30 or whatever ! I was waiting and waiting for ALMOST an hr for someone to start on my wax first ! The guy said someone will start as soon as this lady gets her eyebrows done so she was done waxing the lady's eyebrows and ANOTHER lady went knowing I was next!! So I finally ended getting my legs waxed after 2hrs! The owner then said he won't charge me the $10 for gel nails to come back the next day. I couldn't come back the next day because I was going out of town . So what I did was I went across the street to Rose Whittier nails and got my nails and toes done I def recommend that nail salon lady's. They close at 9:30 and they will def get to you and if they don't they will stay till you leave with your acrylics on !!
