It offers a typical teriyaki menu, along with Korean dishes, some Japanese options (like sushi and tempura), and even jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles). The area is an industrial zone, so workers from nearby factories frequently drop in. Perhaps because of this, the restaurant opens early at 10 AM and closes early (3PM) as well. It seemed like the owners, a husband and wife, were the only ones working (I couldn't see the kitchen). The owner's wife took orders and served in the dining area. I arrived around 10:40 AM, a bit early for lunch, but there were already two tables with customers, and more people started coming in shortly after. I ordered four dishes, including Korean and teriyaki options. Typically, teriyaki places don't serve Korean side dishes (banchan), but since I ordered Korean food, they brought out banchan. The best part about the place is the complimentary egg drop soup at lunch, get there early though, it runs out quick. As far as the food, teriyaki is teriyaki. Kinda hard to screw that up. They have great portions for a fat ass like me. The staff is very courteous and friendly. The building is kinda run-down, but not that uncommon among Georgetown buildings or even teriyaki joints. I was convince that this was going to be my spot and they could do no wrong. On my 2nd trip, I had the mongolian beef and it was no winner. My Coworkers and I use to eat here all the time. But recently it looks like they have changed owners. First the portions are weird. My Coworker got barely any chicken teriyaki but a MOUNTAIN full of rice. When I got my tempura, everything looked like it was fish battered. It had no taste to it. You couldn't even tell what vegetable you were eating. I barely got any rice (they most have given it to my Coworker) and no chicken. The California rolls are HUGE!!! I started working in Georgetown last month and this Teriyaki joint was recommended to me by a coworker. I should always be wary of those who refer to all places as "good". I parked out front and ran in; knowing what I'd get. I didn't see their menu beforehand but I had assumed they'd have my beef short ribs/kalbi. They did have it on the menu and I ordered it to go. My go-to Teriyaki place in my hometown often lets me sub out my veggie sides for extra rice so I asked for that here. I was told my problem. The place was a little on the small/dirty side but since I was taking to go, I didn't think it'd be a huge deal. But I must've just beat the lunch crowd as it quickly filled up as I was waiting the 10 mins or so. They offer a punch card with a 'buy 12, get 1 free' which I thought was nice if you're a semi-regular. I got my to-go box and rushed back to my office to enjoy it. Extra star for giving me so much rice (it was two small boxes in addition to the rice in my large box) but downgrade for charging so much ($10) for only about 2 strips of kalbi (they were all sliced up but not 'that' much meat). I probably wouldn't come back since there's another place near the Costco that makes better portions and $2 cheaper. read more
