A good amount of parking but can see it being more of a problem if the neighboring restaurants and itself are busy. The spot is cozy with a good handful of tables with what looks like mainly accommodates parties of 4 but I'm sure if there was the capacity to, you can show up with a bigger party and push tables together. The menu was vast and very straight forward and I ordered a few dishes to go and it came out very quickly. Each dish also came with a sour soup which they offered to combine to make the to go process easier. Each dish was memorable and felt very close to home. The Mongolian Beef was tender, the Beef Chow Fun had a nice wok flavor, the Cashew Nut Chicken was complimented by all the ingredients in it, and the Lucky Fried Rice was umami filled and addicting to eat. A coworker of mine shared this hidden gem with me!! We ordered for work on a Friday and guess what, I was back the next day. Lol The location is not ideal and totally inconspicuous of the deliciousness that this place has. Inside, it's clean and nice and open. The restrooms are through another door and they were very clean as well. There was only one person behind the counter which was fine. He was nice but our interactions were limited. Pleasantries were exchanged Okay, it's food time. I ordered the lucky fried rice AGAIN, the beef chow fun and spicy seafood. All of it was delicious. Not greasy or heavy, perfect amount of seasoning. Well balanced. The rice noodles were all perfect texture. Prices are the best. You get soup with your order too. As you can tell, I'm a returner and will continue to be. read more

We were visiting Seattle a couple weeks ago from the bay area, and craving some Cantonese style comfort food, and a friend recommended this place. We were so glad we gave it a try! It fits the bill of a "hole in the wall" restaurant, in a non-descript, industrial part of town, but sometimes those little dives are the best places! As we parked, there were signs on the outside windows of photos of some of their food items and everything looked delicious. We came in on a weeknight (2 adults, 2 older kids) and were seated right away. Service was great, very attentive. We ordered beef chow fun (called "chow foon" on this menu! Basically wide flat noodles), chicken fried rice, won ton soup, curry chicken and mongolian beef. The meal came with complimentary hot and sour soup. Pricing was fair. Everything was delicious, especially the chicken fried rice as it had what my family refers to as "wok chi" ... that yummy, smoky wok essence. The won ton soup was chicken based and not shrimp based, so that was probably my least favorite. But we cleaned up everything! We look forward to visiting Seattle again to try other dishes! Oh man I've been waiting to try this place. It's so delicious and they're so friendly here. The portions are huge and their diced pepper chicken is my favorite version of kung pao. I've been looking for a place that does chicken like this for years and I'm so happy Lucky does it so well. I loved their beef fried rice too everything tastes exactly how I want my takeout to taste. Classic American Chinese dishes, made with love and talent in equal parts. The fried rice is what they're famous for, and it lives up to the hype, but be sure to try a few more of their offerings. The wontons in special hot sauce are my favorite, drizzle the leftover sauce on whatever else you order. Beef Chow Fun is the best in the city. Now I've stopped by a few times to see what the hoopla was on YELP but each time and each meal I consumed it just never create a peaceful bliss of an amazing meal... As for location well they moved from dump on 4th to an upgraded space where you can be served and feel OK to dine in.... Yay!! They are open!! We saw their old location closed a long time ago, but we didn't know they moved until today! The new place is great! Bright location, much better parking and easier to get in and out. The place is clean and they still have the same family friendly vibe. We met their daughter, Hong, who is so friendly and wonderful! Their complimentary Hot and Sour Soup is great. I enjoyed the Beef Chow Foon. Although, I wish it came with more protein than it did. My husband liked his Curry Chicken with Vegetable Over Rice. I thought the flavor was a bit tangy than savory. The whole time we were there, many were picking up their take-outs. You know it's good when there's a bunch of regulars coming through. The beef has no flavor cant taste anything authentic. The spices are not there anymore. tried others and the same thing. only the Japanese restaurants still use spices. I was fortunate to speak with the owner, who has dedicated nearly a 1/2 century to this small family-run establishment, operated by a mother, daughter, and the owner himself. He possesses nearly 50 years of culinary expertise, particularly as a MasterChef specializing in stir-fried dishes. My concern lies in the sustainability of his output -- specifically regarding the fried rice -- given the inevitable effects of aging on his capacity to produce these dishes. It is my hope that we have many more years to relish his culinary creations, but I often find myself reflecting on how much longer he can maintain this level of output before it becomes unfeasible due to the limitations imposed by age. I was warmly greeted by Hong at the front counter. She is a bright energy in this family-owned business. The dining area is small and was packed for lunch. I got takeout and wasn't disappointed with my fried rice. The Lucky Fried Rice has pork and shrimp in it. I asked for 5 star and they delivered spice! The color of the rice is probably from the chili oil which is what I had hoped to see. I could smell the burn. The rice had a nice wok flavor and is very tasty. While here, I ordered the beef and broccoli for my dinner later. I haven't tried it yet but it looks good. It has lots of veggies in it: broccoli, carrots, onions, mushrooms. I've tried to stop in before but wasn't able to find parking. So glad I found a spot on a side street. While this place is a challenge to get to, it's worth it for the quickness and quality. It's a perfect place for take out as they have a little parking lot in front which makes it easy for pick up. Called to place my order around 6 pm on a weekday and it was ready in 10 minutes. To our surprise, each dish came with a side of hot and sour soup which was simple and delicious. Both meat entrees came with a large serving of steamed rice and steamed veggies. Overall, portion sizes are huge, really affordable prices, great variety of dishes to chose from, and super nice and sweet owners. The food with full of flavorful and not very greasy. I like that they have parking though it's only like 4 or 5 spots. The food really was delicious and the owner even recommended some dishes for the next time I stop in. The fresh chill vegetables were different and unique something I'm not used to in general Tsos chicken. But the chili's they used were perfect and my favorite. Yes the building is old and there's no ac and it looks like a hole in the wall but just enjoy the food and the owners very nice people and I will be going back. I had one and only one reason to try this restaurant: Lucky Fried Rice! The legendary fried rice at Green Village (in International District) is no longer available since the restaurant is permanently closed. The good news is that one of the chefs still makes the fried rice at his restaurant, Lucky Chinese Restaurant. Lucky fried rice was very good, but it did not blow me away. I actually tried it twice to be fair but I felt the same way the second time. Don't get me wrong. It's really good, and it's more than reasonably priced (especially for the quantity). It comes with a cup of soup. It's a family run restaurant. It's clean inside, but it looks really rundown from outside. They have a small (4~5 spots) private parking lot in front of the restaurant and it's free. One night last month I found myself (a) hungry for Chinese food and (b) in south Seattle. Thanks to my fearless Yelp app I quickly discovered Lucky Chinese, a place I've likely driven past dozens of times but which you have to be looking for to find. Well, it was worth the find. Lucky isn't fancy, but this little hole in the wall is dishing out some tasty grub. They have tables for eating in, or you can pick up your order to go like I did. I ordered the lucky fried rice (as suggested by several Yelpers) and it did not disappoint - it was probably the best fried rice I've ever had. Full of meat and tasty goodness, it didn't even require extra soy sauce as sooo many fried rice dishes seem to. It was so good that I returned a few weeks later for the same thing. As a bonus, each entree comes with a delicious bowl of hot-and-sour soup. And their prices are very low - the fried rice is only $9. Can I just tell y'all that this is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Seattle. We moved here from NY and have been on the hunt for NYC style Chinese American food and this is the closest that we've come to it. We ordered the Lucky Fried Rice, the Mongolian Beef and General Chicken. Soo good. Now they don't do the portions like NY--pt of this, quart of that, but that's ok. The lucky chow mein is also very good. I can't wait to try more items. The people who own the restaurant are also wonderful and friendly--the girl who was working the front was so kind and recommended some secret menu items and also suggested some customizations that are incredible. Like the Garlic Sauce with Seafood and Vegetables--so now I can't wait to try it. The vibe is very good and the murals in the restaurant are really modern. Such a gem. My only gripe is that the parking is bad--sometimes I have to circle around and wait for a parking spot to open or double park someone to pick up my food. read more
