I thought it was flavorful and a great portion size. - Pork Congee: Nothing special, just your typical pork congee. I thought it was a tad too ginger-y. - Salted Fish and Chicken Tofu Stone Pot: Super interesting dish, I haven't had salted fish like this before. I wasn't unhappy but I felt the food I ordered was too Americanize like the lemon chicken. The sauce for the lemon just too sweet. The chicken was made like katsu but thin and dry. The tofu and mix veggies was good and the beef chow fun yummy yum yum. The orange beef was just okay not anything I would crave. They were out of the pork hash and salted fish. Yum Yum Cafe is a great restaurant! The pea vine in broth was especially good. Very fresh tasting and simply good. The rice stone pot with salted pork (pork belly) and Chinese sausage was pretty good. Instead of stirring up the crisped rice immediately, it might be good to pour a bit of soup broth so that it softens the rice a bit. That's how my family used to use the hard rice on the bottom of the pot and it was good that way. The spicy beans with pork was pretty good. Service was prompt and friendly. read more

I ordered salted duck egg pumpkin, dried scallop egg white fried rice, and the ginger scallion chicken. The pumpkin was amazing where it was piping hot and crispy. The pumpkin was cut a bit thick in my opinion but the flavor was good. The fried rice was disappointing because I didn't see any scallop nor taste it. It was on the greasy side. The chicken was decent but was on the small side for a half portion. The flavor was good but not what I'm used to where the chicken was salted instead of a soy and oils base. Overall, would come back but skip the fried rice. Seems like a decent place for Chinese comfort foods. This place was clean and easy to get to. The service is also really awesome. Been meaning to try and finally got a chance to stop by after picking up someone from the airport, we stopped by at an odd time, around 3pm and the place was still pretty full! This was a decent Cantonese cuisine spot and as such, I would recommend you stick with Cantonese dishes. Sadly they didn't have the eel stone pot, so we ended up getting the Salted Pork And Chinese Sausage Rice Stone Pot (5/5) which was flavorful and crispy. Chicken with Scallion & Soy Sauce (4/5) - was fine, not something I particularly enjoy as a dish but saw many others ordering it so we got it as well. Yuxiang Shredded Pork (3/5) - Ok but not great, probably wouldn't get again Sauteed String Bean w/ Spicy Minced Pork (3.5) - I like to order this dish pretty much everywhere I can, it was decent, could be more crispy but flavor was good. Beef Chow Fun (4/5) - Also something I order everywhere since I grew up eating it a lot, sauce was a little sweet but wasn't burnt/overcooked like many places tend to do. It was good but not good engouch for an authentic Cantonese cuisine. may be we have too high expectations "The baozai rice is very good, lacks a little aroma and sweetness of the rice, but overall it is tasty "Stir-fried eel slices + eel and tofu soup" : one eel for two dish, skeleton and tail for soup, the American eel is too small, probably cooked in soy sauce, but it's quite different from the Shanghai eel tube and the Guangzhou jelly pot. "Fried tofu" is very tasty and crispy "Bean seedling in Soup" is a very refreshing dish, the egg and soup are very fresh "Chicken with chestnuts" and "Braised lamb belly in pot" and "Duck with bean curd in pot" are too disappointing! The seasoning is basically the same, the bean curd in both dishes is not soft enough, and one of them is burnt. This heavy taste does not reflect the respect of ingredients that Cantonese casseroles should have. I'm convinced they have 2 teenage chefs and a half trained monkey working in the back. Portions are small relative to prices. Rating is for taste, and taste wise this is a low 4 star restaurant. It might be a weird thing to compliment, but I have never had more perfectly cooked vegetables in my life. The perfect amount of crispness that somehow managed to be uniform between thin things like the snow pea pods and thick things like broccoli crowns. I would love to know how they accomplish that. Also might be a weird point to compliment, but this was one of the cleanest restaurant bathrooms I have ever used. The Kung Pao tofu I had here was the best I have had in Seattle. The best thing we ordered was the honey walnut shrimp, it was both sweet and savory. We ordered Singapore vermicelli and it did not say what type of meat to order as an option so we assumed it would be vegetarian. At other restaurants it lets you know what kind of meat is in the menu. We brought it home and it had pork. When we called to ask for a replacement the woman on the phone said have you not ordered Singapore noodles before it always comes with pork. Took the family there tonight - after loosing our usual Chinese restaurant we needed to find a new place. This was much closer to home and had good reviews so far. We ate there and we loved having the small dinning area to ourselves. They had dished I've never had before - There was fried sticky rice with peanuts I thought were amazing and some fat teriyaki noodles I've never had but enjoyed. The Egg drop soup was warm and comforting while it snowed outside and House Fried Rice has so much flavor. Also the prices were very reasonable. We will totally be coming back again. read more

Best Mongolian beef I have ever had! Wasn't too spicy although I do enjoy spicy Chinese food. The beef was cooked perfect and it wasn't smothered in onions and green onions although they are there. Price was as expected in the $11-$13 range and the portion size was great. I enjoyed a nice amount for dinner with a little bit to take home for later. This place is 9/10 for me so far and hope to try more of their dishes! This place has changed ownership a few times over the years but this new ownership knows how to make a great dish. The food is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! However, the woman who takes the orders and sweeps the floor, is very unfriendly and rude, especially toward Non-Asian female customers (perhaps she is the owner). She makes unkind faces at you as you try to order, and you must repeat many times what you want. When she's done sweeping the floor, she handles your food and food containers, and payment methods without first washing her hands. I've been wanting to come to Yum Yum for a few months and finally came and ate dinner here. We had the pan fried pot stickers, beef and broccoli, fried rice and the hot and sour pork. The pan fried pot stickers seemed to have been more deep fried and was quite crispy with a couple of mild sauces accompanying this appetizer. Just after they arrived the special fried rice arrived and it was quite good with beef, chicken and some small shrimps. The beef broccoli stood out as the best of the crowd with lots of beef and broccoli with a rich brown sauce. The hot and sour pork was another large portion that was really good although I tend to overdose on the sweetness of it after a while of eating so much. Overall, the service was personable and friendly with greeting us saying goodbye with a smile. I really came away impressed as everything about Yum Yum was way better than I would have expected from where they are located on Myers Way. We definitely will come back again as you get great value and large portion sizes with enough to take home for another meal. I noticed they had a Cantonese menu that most likely has some really good gems, if could read or speak Cantonese. read more

One of our favorite places for take out and eating in means you get to enjoy a beautiful meal. Absolutely love their hot and sour soup, but their extensive Cantonese menu is so delicious. We usually order a westernized dish (general tso, orange chicken, etc) and something new to us on the menu. And let me tell you, the exploration is always worth it. When we order with friends, it's actually a little hard to recommend a specific dish because each one has been a mouthful of surprise and delight. If it sounds good, get it. This place gets flavor. One thing I will call out is I'm especially loving the stone and rice stone pot dishes right now, but these are best enjoyed in the restaurant. The restaurant ambiance is plain, but it's best set up to enjoy a beautiful group meal. The staff is always friendly and efficient too. read more
