We had an incident today May 22,2027. AVOID! We had a terrible experience last night in this restaurant. My daughter was given an outside table with her dog while I went inside to the bathroom. During that time, the four people sitting next to her headed by a Big Argentinian man, proceeded to attack her and talk about the dog out loud. Dog was not barking. When I sat, she told me what the man had been doing. I asked the waiter to move us because of them. The man started thanking us in a mocking way. I reacted to his comments be calling his action IMBECILE. As we walked to our new table ob the opposite side of the restaurant, he got up and followed us screaming. NOBODY from the restaurant came out to ask him to leave us alone even though we asked for help. We sat down and WAITED. Never has something like this happened. The Miami Spice here was fire! You get an appetizer, entree, and dessert included. I got a special passion fruit mint mojito cocktail that was to die for. I had the snapper for my entree and lemon meringue pie for my dessert and it was amazing. The dirt cup is really yummy too. The ambience was so classy and fancy with great structure and design. Sometimes strange isn't good. Let's start off with the pluses. Great service ( though the entree was 45+). Really attentive. Space was great. Wine list was stellar with something for everyone. price points were excellent. But! Steak tartare with peanuts and cucumbers was weird. I want a crunch with the softness of tartare but the peanuts added little except more crunch. This dish desperately needed either salt or acid. Again not bad but far from good. The short rib posed another conundrum. I was told to make sure to eat the butternut squash purée and I did but it was muted and added zero to the dish. The slaw of Brussels sprouts was fine but the short rib bordelaise ate like a barbecue sauce. Not at all what I expected or wanted. Service- The service was okay but did not blow me away. It felt rushed. We had reservations for brunch, and they still made us wait over 45 minutes. We finally got around to going to the Eating House, after watching numerous videos on social media about their brunch menu. Eating House provides both in-door and outdoor seating with umbrellas for shade. The restaurant has a very clean aesthetic feel. The bells and whistles are being provided by the food. I started with an Irish coffee, which was the perfect balance of sweet Kahlua, a shot of Irish Whisky and coffee topped with a sweet cold foam . I highly recommend this as a brunch cocktail choice over the typical mimosa. We started with the loaded tater tots with a savory truffle cream sauce [ the elevated, adult version of a throwback lunch side-dish favorite ]and 4 short rib croquettes- tender and juicy on the inside and lightly breaded on the outside. The star of the show for me and what I will be going back for is the Cap N' Crunch pancakes topped with condensed milk and drenched in a caramel sauce. I could easily eat this every Saturday as my cheat meal. My mom ordered the guava french toast and I tried a couple of bites. They weren't as sweet as I imagined them to be and definitely more on the tangy side, but not bad. I think this place is really nice, the ambiance is great. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. Our server, brought over some water while we looked at the menu. We shared the loaded tots and they were really good. For my entree, I had the French dip burger and it was delicious. The rest of the entrees looked good too. Look. If I'm being honest, as someone who's a pescatarian and prefers a low carb died that avoids dairy and fried food, this restaurant is probably last on my list for places to try. There's only one entree on the brunch menu that doesn't have dairy or meat, and only a handful of appetizers. Yet I found myself here on Sunday for brunch, because when some of your favorite people say they're going for brunch and would like you to come, you show up. The vibe is industrial chic and the location is in the heart of the Gables on a closed to traffic street. It's got that Lincoln road vibe on the outside, but in this humidity we opted for in door dining, because air conditioning please! The waitstaff are attentive and helpful, taking note of food allergies and avoidances, however this was neglected on a friend's order who can't eat dairy and ended up receiving a cheeseburger. But they were quick to fix the mistake. The drinks seem thoughtfully conceived with a selection of brunch bubblies, cocktails, and zero-proof offers. One friend had the spritz which was delightfully refreshing, another guava mimosa which was a little too sweet for my taste but still playful on the tongue. My guy had the Casablanca which was easy breezy and most akin to a minty lime cooler. I debated going for the zero-proof tequila offer, but ended up with the Dolores Street, a lychee margarita. It was a bit too sweet for my taste, but some club soda made it perfect. We started off with tater tots, loaded tater tots, 2 orders of bacon, and their croquetas. I was eyeing their yellowfin tuna tartare but at $26 it's a bit more than I care to pay for a brunch appetizer. I HATE truffle oil with the power of a thousand burning suns mainly because 90% of it used in restaurants is synthetic. The smell reeks of burning gasoline and the taste is just putrid. I don't love real truffles and won't go out of my way to eat them, but I can tolerate them without gagging. Whatever they used in their black truffle mayo and in the black truffle cream didn't make me sick, and on the contrary was rather tasty. I only had a nibble of the loaded tots as there was a lot of bacon to pick through. I obvs didn't try the bacon or the croquetas but they were well received. For entrees I went with the Crispy Rock Shrimp Salad (not like I had much other choices). They informed me it would be with grilled shrimp instead for whatever reason. I think I manifested that because I was hoping for grilled shrimp since I looked at the menu the day before. The salad was fab! I stole a bite of the cap n' crunch pancakes that my friend ordered, which is pure sugary indulgence on a plate. Very tasty, but would probably make me sick to my stomach if I consumed a whole plate of it. My guy got the Chicken and Waffles and wasn't too into it as it was with chicken thighs and not breast like he had expected. Another friend got the Carbonara Benedict, which the plating looked wholly unappetizing, but she seemed to enjoy it. Overall, everyone else enjoyed their food and we had a lovely day. Would I come back? If it was another group thing, maybe. Even though it was good, it's honestly just not my culinary vibe. read more

The service was fantastic, my server explained all the dishes including their most popular and helped me decide on what to order. I I decided to treat my myself to a Bellini, it was fresh and the perfect start to my meal. I ordered the Brussel Sprout Caesar Salad with grilled chicken. This is definitely one of the best salad I've ever had & I've never had anything like it. Was really looking forward to trying this chic spot on Giralda Plaza as I had heard it was from the same chef that created the gem that is Luca Osteria. Restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, ambiance is great and a nice place to spend time with friends/family. My server was okay, not the friendliest but I understand it was during a busy brunch time. We started with drinks and I went with the Birds & the Bees - a mezcal based drink that was tasty. My group all wanted to try the Carbonara Benedict and I can't say we loved it. It was a unique take on eggs benedict with a base of bread, followed by poached eggs and a carbonara sauce with truffle. The sauce and eggs were cooked perfectly and very delicious however the bread was very hard and I could barely cut it with my knife. The sauce was good but definitely wouldn't order this again, would maybe try the Chicken & Waffles or other entrees on the menu. We ended with the dirt cup and I'm SO glad we did. Presented so cute like a plant sprouting in a pot with dirt - layers of vanilla ice cream, caramel, hazelnuts, and rich chocolate with oreo. I can't speak on their previous location but my first time experience was well worth the wait. We were lucky and caught the tail end of their brunch on a Saturday afternoon just before they closed the kitchen to prepare for dinner. The service was A1. Super attentive and helped walk us through some guests favorites which is always much appreciated. We started with their honey butter rolls that were sweet, airy, fresh and tasteful. The brussell salad was out of bounds. Especially the chunks of charred brussell's that added a nice crunch i didn't know I needed. The loaded tots were good. On the heavier side but were packed with good flavor. Tuna tartare was fresh and the hubby's favorite. The french dip burger was juicy but a bit messy given the au jus. To top the meal off we finished with their dirt cup for dessert that was presented in an adorable flower pot. The ambiance was clean with modern decor. Came here for brunch with friends and we were all impressed! This place has delicious and innovative takes on brunch staples. The loaded tater tots were delicious. The black truffle cream they added to the tots took the plate over the top in the best way possible. I was skeptical about the captain crunch pancakes, but it almost felt like they used cornmeal in their pancake batter which gave it a really delicious taste. I thought the addition of condensed milk "syrup", vanilla butter, and cereal would make this cloyingly sweet but it was well balanced and was a nice shared plate to end our brunch. The bread, thick sliced bacon, and carbonara hollandaise were delicious, but I am not sure if I would try it again since it didn't stand out as much as the other plates did. The food did not exceed my expectations only because I feel that the presentation could have been given a little bit more effort. The interior is beautifully decorated in a modern but warm style, and the outdoor seating has plenty of umbrellas to protect from the South Florida sun. Our reservation was 12:30, but they still sat us immediately when we arrived closer to 12. Our server came to greet us promptly and our water was filled moments later by another server who was assisting. We ordered the tater tots with black truffle ketchup, grilled chicken sandwich, and captain crunch pancakes. The tater tots were incredibly addicting and I couldn't stop tossing them back as I waited for my pancakes. I thought nothing could top the tots, but then the pancakes arrived and changed my life. Appetizers included burrata, kung pao cauliflower, and shrimp ajillo. All were delicious, although my favorite was the cauliflower. The sauce had a zing and spice to it which I definitely enjoyed. Lunch included pasta carbonara, snapper, and short ribs. Again, impressed with all the options. For me the flavor of the pasta was the best with the right amount of cheese and sauce. The short rib was chewy and the sauce seemed excessive. The snapper was also not my cup of tea. Last but not least were the desserts which were all delicious! Absolutely loved them all. I had been to the original Eating House location a few times for brunch, so we decided to try their Miami Spice Dinner menu. Personally, I didn't quite enjoy the mix of the flavor profiles as much as I would've liked. I had: - Watermelon Caprese: I didn't think the flavor of the watermelon went well with the burrata cheese or the oil/balsamic dressing, so I ate each part separately. - Yellowtail Snapper Milanesa: they serve this fish with a side of cherry tomatoes cut in half, which my friend and I didn't think was enough food, so we ordered fries on the side. I personally thought the fish was a bit dry (mine was a little over fried) and needed more salt, and I would've enjoyed it with a sauce. - Dirt Cup: I like salted caramel but I thought the flavor was too strong in the battle with everything else in the cup, so I just stuck to the top half. Despite the fact that I didn't enjoy the Miami Spice dinner menu items I tried, we had a fantastic server who checked on us every moment he could, so the service was great. I enjoy many of the cocktails but recently I tried a coconut daiquiri that was to die for. For dinner I love the tuna carpaccio, the updated carbonara, the Brussel sprouts and Parker rolls. To be honest the best way to enjoy EH is to come hungry and share a bunch of things with a group. Their brunch is delish too. I am partial to the burger and the tater tots. No mayo here, but a great black truffle ketchup.
