To be completed honest I'm not 100% if this was the exact location we went to as we were on the drive home to NJ and stopped in but it's a chain so. Never ate there, it reminded me of a Cracker Barrel but the menu options especially for the kids was huge!! They both loved their food and for $4? I think they got a drink and a cookie at the end. What a bargain! Coloring menus etc. the staff were very friendly. I highly recommend the pretzel appetizer. So good and the honey mustard that came with it. Yum! It was clean and we were seated immediately. Definitely recommend, wish we had some closer to us!

Great weekend brunch buffet. Nice staff. Can get busy at times but I guess everyone enjoys the food and atmosphere. Consistent breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Went for Breakfast with my mother. We both got seated fairly quickly but it went downhill once we ordered our food. We got there around 9:15 and got drinks, but our food didn't come out until 40 minutes later. All of our main dishes were hot but our side potato's were cold! My mother ordered the country fried steak with over medium eggs, those ALSO were cold! Our waitress had the nerve to ask her if she wanted the eggs and potato's "reheated". My mother had to insist she wanted them remade. The potato's came out hot which was great! But then her eggs came back overcooked and hard! If you're coming here for breakfast, just stick with the breakfast buffet instead of ordering off the menu, they cared a lot more about restocking that instead of attending to people who ordered off the menu. I had noticed this with other tables as well.

Saturday morning 9:00 quick seating and fast service was accompanied by a clean and casual atmosphere. Blueberry pancakes were good. Eggs Benedict and hash browns were not good; hard, bland and cold.

Circling the small parking lot looking for your spot, reminiscing on the alumni sports team photos on the walls, and doing the twist in the entryway to navigate your way to your takeout, Gateway Grill is not much... but the food is usually fire!!! The pizza slices have big bubbling crusts with pepperoni so rustic cut that you will wonder if they accidentally gave you the whole piece... over and over again. Don't sleep on their meatball pizza. Because you will have basically full size meatballs for every slice... and they are delightful. We had family in and bought a large order - and we opted to try their sandwiches. The Chuck Roast sandwich and Turkey Rachel both sounded delicious... and Gateway Grill does have fresh smoked meats too! Takeout is a trip. In a full restaurant, you have to kinda stand in the way at the front counter and flag down someone to grab your order. But they definitely do a lot of to-go pizzas so you'll be able to handle it. Unfortunately, with their current to-go containers, the sandwiches ended up being sopping wet with condensation... the bottom toasted bread on both was basically dripping instead of crunchy. The fries had lost all texture too- air fryer to the rescue. I'd still recommend going - just stick to only pizza when ordering takeout until they find a way to ensure quality of other options.

First impression was that the color scheme, decorations, and menu all seemed to be dated and uninspired. The staff were polite and attentive. I ordered the salad and Salmon Oscar. The salad was good and the blue cheese dressing I chose was house-made. It was good. My girlfriend got the wedge salad which I think was a bit expensive since it was a $6 up charge for a wedge of iceberg lettuce from the standard salad that came with the entrees. My Salmon Oscar with asparagus was very good. I enjoyed every bite of the salmon and crab. My daughter's chicken parm came with a ton of linguini. My girlfriend got the signature crab cakes which she said were mostly crab and not filler. So while I thought the menu was dated when reading it the food was well executed.

My wedding soup and my husband's French onion soup were delicious. The wedding soup was loaded with meatballs and chicken. My husband has a thing for French onion soup and tries it every chance he gets. He said this may have been the best ever. We split a Reuben sandwich and upgraded to onion rings. The waitress brought us each a half portion so we didn't have to divide it ourselves, which was nice. There was plenty of meat on the sandwich, making it acceptable, not great but good enough. Onion rings were very good. Dessert sounded tempting, a cherry crème brûlée. It was okay, kind of like cherry jello with a sugar crust on top. A bit disappointing to say the least. Our waitress was on top of filling the water glasses and was very nice. Now for the bad news and why I'm only giving 3 stars. I went to the ladies room before eating and there was no hot water to wash my hands. I asked my husband if the men's room had hot water and he said no. We both let it run but it never got hot, not even warm. Then I noticed (after drinking several glasses of water unfortunately) that there was a crack in my water glass. I mentioned it to my husband and he said, "you should see the chips in the glass tabletop over her on my side". I get it that wear and tear happens, but these things should be caught before serving guests. And as far as the hot water...how do servers and kitchen workers properly clean their hands after using the toilet without hot water? So the food is fairly solid and reasonably priced. But be on the lookout for chipped glassware and table tops. And use your own hand sanitizer if you have it!

We happen to be in the area so after about three years of avoiding them, I said why not give them another try. The food was absolutely fantastic and the service was exceptional. It had a pleasant ambiance you could actually have a great conversation without excessive noise. I ordered the fish dinner and did they ever redeem themselves. It was no longer like Mrs. Paul's frozen fish, two very nice meaty breaded filet served with French fries that were hot and crispy cooked just right. Great snap when you crunched them. The breading on the fish was not overpowering and the fish itself was large and robust with the flavor of fresh caught cod. I was very impressed. Our waitress Caleigh who was wonderful. Daily special- pan seared mahi mahi with asparagus fennel kohlabi and arugula salad citrus buerre Blanc. Light citrus flavor is found thru the mahi mahi, its sauce and the salad. Very congruent. Asparagus was a neutral addition. Not flowing with or against the mahi. Fish was cooked well. Just lots of raw red onion on the salad was a little overpowering. 7/10 Red wine braised short rib- didn't ask how well done, so seems chefs choice. We have a preference towards med rare. This was cooked well done making it a tad tough-stringy. Mashed potatoes with some larger pieces of potato, but very neutral plain flavor, great with the beef sauce. Carrots cooked well, just neutral, natural flavor. Overall a very classic flavor combo that works.7/10. Would stop by again to try more dishes. Ps- when paying we noticed final bill to sign was more than first bill at table. When we asked why the difference we were told it's the credit card fee of $3. This was really the first time I've seen this at a restaurant, yet alone at a decent place like one. Would have been best for them to tell us this upfront.

The waitress was very nice, and from what I recall served our silverware on a silver tray lined with velvet... So there was an attempt to portray this upscale theme which reflected onto their menu and prices, but was so off the mark it was humorous. The menu was extensive and the items where overall on the pricy side. We opted to just get a sandwich since there entrees were in the $30.00 range and up. I thought to myself if I was going to spend that much on my meal I would eat somewhere else. I got the Bourbon Steak sandwich, which they claimed was filet mignon, they ask for a spice level, I belief I said 5. I made it a platter and added a salad and soup. The soup, a baked potato soup, was indeed indulging and delicious. I could've stopped there, should have maybe. The salad was obviously old. The tomatoes were shriveled and rotten, and my lettuce was wilted. I removed the bad parts and ate what I could. And although the waitress was very friendly, she wasn't really careful when setting plates and bowls down. On both my soup and salad her thumb was poking around the surface... Our sandwiches came out a little while later. Honestly mine was so spicy I couldn't taste much of it. Maybe this was my fault but I wish she would have explained the levels a bit, but again I didn't ask so I accept responsibility for that. The portion was a little on the small side for a $13.00 sandwich, and when you make it a platter add $4.00. So for almost $20.00 that's what you get here. This place is definitely different, I would probably go back if asked by my friend, but not by my own decision. We ended up having a good time and eventually made it into the bar area. Now I thought the restaurant side needed updating! Holy cow, they had reupholster chairs in a pink plaid that was rough to sit on and looked like my grandmother's couch in the 70's! And it was only select chairs that were donning this material. I guess once the others rip enough they will get this classy makeover too.

I took half my dinner home because we ordered Belgian Chocolate Mousse cake to take home. Everything was fresh, homemade and delicious.
