Robert was very kind and attentive at first, which I appreciated. However, once I explained that I wasn't ready to purchase just yet and that I wanted to return alone to surprise her his attitude changed drastically. He became visibly irritated and pushy, which made the entire experience uncomfortable. Truthfully, I had the money ready and was fully prepared to do business soon, but the pressure and unprofessional behavior completely changed my mind. Very disappointed in this jeweler that I have used many times for purchases and repairs. There was a billing snafu and I was told that I owed a balance for a repair done 6 months prior, that I was certain I had paid for. The man got nasty quick and said "Why would we repairs your ring for free?? You didn't even buy it here!" That's correct. My ring beloved ring is over 30 years old and I have trusted you many times to repair it. My husband decided to upgrade my engagement ring this past Christmas and took me to Markham to look for a new band for the diamond he had gotten. Maggie really listened to what I wanted and was patient with selecting a ring that was my style. Since it was the first place that we had walked into, we decided to look at another jeweler to see if there was anything different. That was a mistake because the service was incomparable to the service at Markham. We went back and got the ring that I fell in love with. As a bonus, they even had my original wedding set refinished to look brand new. I didn't even know that was possible! The diamond we had didn't set the way we thought it would and was a little disappointed, but Maggie pushed for it to be reworked and it turned out FABULOUS! Buyer Beware!!! If you want quality jewelry, don't be fooled by the fancy advertisement and atmosphere. I bought a white gold necklace with a diamond pendant. The necklace broke three times. The company's warranty does not cover several things if the necklace breaks. If the quality was great, they would have a lifetime warranty with no stipulations. So what does that tell you? The quality isn't that great as advertised. The last time I had it fixed, it cost over $21 to repair. Then a few days later, I gave the necklace to my girlfriend. The necklace was longer than what I turned in to get repaired. Which probably means the company switched out the broken necklace with a new one. Who knows if they switched it out with a cheaper necklace. Anyways my girlfriend was not pleased with the new necklace. Therefore, I was embarrassed and unfortunately, I have lost all respect for a company that is supposed to carry high quality jewelry with a reputable reputation. I have always loved Markham. I purchased my updated wedding ring setting there. A month ago I had a sales person Robert want to design a ring with the three diamonds taken from a tennis bracelet I had sized down for my daughter's wedding. We had a great conversation and he sold me on making a ring with the remaining diamonds. He told me it would be substantial & not dinky & would be done before my daughter's wedding. Not only did it not get done, but the ring was not substantial in the least. I paid $1500 for a band that I provided the diamonds for and it looks like a pinky ring at best. It also came to small to even fit. They had to size it up. I feel very taken advantage of. I then bought another ring to put with it from Markham to try to make it more substantial. I had another sales associate Korrie help me & she was great! Robert was with another customer at the time & never approached me. Korrie even agreed about how I felt about the unsubstantial ring. I had more purchases I wanted to make that her and I discussed. When picking up the now 2 rings I purchased from Markham I felt very uncomfortable. Robert & Korrie were present, but Robert said nothing to me, not even a hello. He did not aknowledge the entire situation, that I'm sure he was brought up to speed on. I proceeded to buy a third ring days later at another jewelry store and I'm finally very happy now as 3 rings together finally look substantiaI. I set my old wedding diamond into a necklace and I purchased a beautiful bracelet. These were all purchases I planned on doing at Markham. Sadly, they lost my busines. Communication goes a long way. Aknowlegement from Robert about how I was feeling about the ring made would have gone a long way. I ordered a men's ring from Markham in October. In November I went to the store to check in and found my ring being used for display. Even after I put the ring on my finger, the rep denied it was my ring. When I picked my ring up today (3 months later, December 29) the ring on display is no longer there. I asked for proof of shipping dates and the manager denied my request. I can't prove it was my ring on display, but it was definitely my ring on display for months. read more

The place is under new and incompetent ownership. I've been in tears all day over this situation. It's so convenient that the new owners cannot pull-up the file on my lifetime warranty. I've been in several times to have my ring cleaned before with no issues when the place was owned by better people. While the man was trying to "find my receipt," he spoke down to me in such a belittling manner. I was accused of lying, as if I would be returning to a store an hour out of my way if we hadn't bought this warranty. Not recommend for fine watch repair. Brought in new Tag Heuer Aquaracer to size the band. Sales associate took the watch to the back and proceeded to "hammer" on the band trying to remove a link. After 15 minutes unsuccessful And the sound of hammering I sensed this was not a certified Tag repair store. If cannot remove a simple link, I cannot imagine an extensive repair. We bought a pair of diamond earrings they said were VS2 quality on the receipt. We had them appraised only to find out they were I2 quality stones. When confronted with the discrepancy they were apologetic but I can't imagine how any reputable business makes this kind of mistake. We returned the product for a full refund but they should have compensated us for the appraisal fee and for trying to swindle us. Never going back. Buyers, beware! read more

Sales associates here must either be snobby or racist (or both). I was standing by a display case with my wife and child waiting on service, as we were planning to buy a new ring. There were two associates just chatting off to the side, completely ignoring us. We were waiting a good 20 minutes and attempted eye contact. My wife says the male associate actually looked at her a few times. No service. We decided to leave. On our way out, we made the comment that it must be real busy today. And the male associate took a quick, cursory glance and said "yes it is." We are taking our business and all future business elsewhere. I posted a negative review on their Facebook page and was contacted by their customer service. I purchased an Invicta watch for my fiancé. Unfortunately the place were I purchased the watch didn't have a personal jeweler who was able to remove a few link so the watch would fit properly. I simply called Markham and we had stellar service from the phone call, to the fit, even to the personable conversation while we waited! The fix was at no cost and they even ask if they could clean my engagement ring. Again, stellar service definitely will be returning! I would highly recommend and will be returning. read more

Best jeweler in town. I brought my very worn Breitling watch to be refurbished. My watch has not been refurbished for over 7 years and was worn daily which caused tiny nicks and scratches all over. I was greeted at the jeweler by Mark. Mark has to be one of the most passionate jewelers I've ever met, he loves and take great pride in his job. I dropped off my watch around 1 pm and it was ready by 6 pm. I was beyond amazed to see how superbly refurbished my watch was. I have seen refurbished Breitlings before, this was way beyond my expectations. The shine and smoothness of the metal Breitling left me speechless. I can't say enough about Mark, he really did amazing job. I'm very happy and now a loyal customer. read more

Took a watch in for a cleaning and appraisal. Paid up front and went back to pick up. After weeks of waiting I never received the appraisal email. After much research they realized it was never appraised. I was told by Robbie to bring it back and they would do right this time AND refund my appraisal cost or give me an equivalent discount on some other purchase. I finally brought it back and the appraisal guy did a fast, efficient job and I received a very professional appraisal. However, the manager at the store said the appraiser is an outside contractor and that he could not give me a refund and has no idea why I was promised this additional discount. He said that he would look into the issue and call me. While I was there I did look at some jewelry with my wife and the sales lady was also going to send me some information. None of this occurred. No one ever followed up, not the manager or the sales person. Very unprofessional as they appeared to be trying to bait me. At least I finally got what I paid for, 3 months after I paid for it. read more

Took payment of $600+ to repair a Tag watch and returned the watch a without having repaired anything, after over a month, during which Markham repeatedly failed to return my calls and messages asking for an update and an ETA. Their watchmaker is unresponsive, extremely slow, and obviously does not do the work he is paid to do. I do not know if he did this consciously, which would amount to fraud, or by mistake, which constitutes incompetence and disorganization. The amount it takes to even hear anything about the repair timeframe is absurd. Ronnie, the "manager", convinced me to "give them another chance, I promise we will get this right". I unfortunately did bring the watch back in, on the condition that it would be prioritized ahead of any other work. More than a week later, I still do not have the watch and I was told that the watchmaker "ordered the part" which was supposed to have been replaced the first time as written on the ticket. When I pointed out that this is unacceptable and I simply wanted my watch back and my money refunded, Ronnie became agitated and unprofessional. I will NEVER have anything to do with this business anymore. I strongly recommend you do the same. read more

Horrible experience working with Markham Jewelers. The staff was helpful up until the exchange of money. Once they had the money in their hands, the customer service level declined sharply. Ronnie appeared to be helpful throughout the shopping experience but once I needed resizing or had questions after the purchase, was extremely hard to get a hold of and unable to provide assistance. Another member of the staff was extremely careless with my jewelry when dropping it off to get resized and slammed my engagement ring down on a hard surface without any care. If you're looking for jewelry and do not care about the customer service, this is the place for you. Will NOT repeat business with this company. read more

I used to go to Markham for all my jewelry repairs. The last time I went in with a white gold ring that needed to be replated and an antique opal ring from my grandmother that I wanted to wear on my right hand. The saleswoman gave me all kinds of reasons/excuses why they wouldn't size my opal ring. I understand opals are softer gemstones, but the ring was unwearable in its current state and I didn't feel her suggestion to "just wear the ring on a different finger" was helpful or constructive. I didn't want to wear a family heirloom on my thumb, ok Carol? When I wouldn't back down from what I wanted, the salesperson tried to intimidate me by saying "she's been a gemologist for 20+ years". Whatever. When I insisted, she went to take my rings to the jeweler, who all of a sudden was not in the building. Whatever. I go to Classique now. They are professional and don't give me any problems. read more

I'm not one to write bad reviews, but If I had to describe my shopping experience here for an engagement ring it was very similar to a car dealership. It's hard to trust people now a days. And if you're not very informed you will be caught overpaying for something. My first time there I was helped by one person, very attentive and patient and helped me find a nice setting. When it came down to the Diamond I ended up paying over the phone and was explained the difference "lesser and better" quality between the two. Went with the first option. When called back it was explained that it was VS2 quality. Then moments later I was told it was si1. Started looking at their website and advertised prices were significantly different in the diamonds I was told. I understand market prices and how availability can make prices vary but it was significantly different like $1000 difference. So this is first instance I felt lied to. And confused to what I paid for. I was told I'd get a certification with it. Days later go by and I visit the location and "said" person wasn't there I explained my confusion and how I would like to upgrade to a better quality Diamond. I was attended by a lady I'm assuming manager. I could tell right away I was getting on her nerves and she wanted no part in helping me. Going though their in stock diamonds we finally came down to a G VS1 diamond. I had no problem paying a difference if needed. And no where once was I asking for anything free. She gave me an amount difference $170 and I agreed and moments later She came out and said it's going to be $400. Second time I felt lied to. After this exchange a third gentleman got involved. I felt like there was a lot of whispering going back and forth and in and out of the office. And then it changed to around $230. At this point is when I started to get frustrated and the other gentleman could tell. We sat and I explained everything, and he ended up waving the additional amount to be paid for the frustration I've been having. Finally I felt like I was getting some help. I asked and Was told I would get certification with this Diamond. Fast forward to when the ring was ready to be picked up. First Gentleman was there, you could tell he was not happy to see me. They come out and give me the ring and before I left I asked for the lab report/certificate. He went to check and sure enough the "GVS1" Diamond they put in there doesn't have a lab certificate. And now at this point I felt like I've been lied to the whole time. I was written up an appraisal but an appraisal is basically their "expert" opinion on Diamond grade. Essentially they can call the Diamond whatever they want it to be. Long story short they claim it's a GVS1 Diamond but I'll never really know what I got without the lab certificate. I even called anonymously again asking if their diamonds are all lab certified and same guy said pretty much all their Diamond are certified especially LGD's usually the ones that aren't certified according to him are SI1 quality. GVS1 is significantly better. I am certain they put a lower quality Diamond after all the deception, which is why there's no certificate to prove it. So I can only hope by good faith with what they gave me is GVS1. My only option at this point is to have it evaluated by someone else. But won't change the fact that I felt I was deceived and possibly didn't get what I paid for. Maybe I just wasn't their clientele. I can only wish I tried somewhere else. read more

I was skeptical. Big jewelry stores in a high-end area of Frisco - I doubted they could help me on my budget. When I walked in, they were very busy. Everyone was with a customer. But Marcy told me she'd be right with me - and she was. No one does that these days! I told her what I wanted (custom job) and what my budget was. She said it could be done. We looked and looked for the right center diamond for the ring and I couldn't find what I wanted. She mentioned without pressuring me that if I would add a little to the budget of the ring, I could find what I wanted. I told her to go ahead and look and I would see if I could raise the budget. She said she would need to wait for her next shipment of loose stones and I said I'd be back in a couple days. I went back and she showed me 2 diamonds that worked but a 3rd diamond that blew me away! Stunning! I didn't know what to expect since it was my first custom job. Marcy talked me through the process and I LOVE this ring. The only thing to be mindful of is how busy they are. A couple conversations were misunderstood. We initially went to another jeweler next door to replace a auxiliary diamond in my fiancés new engagement ring. She was pressured and pushed into almost buying an entirely new ring setting. Finally I got involved, we left very unhappy and we decided to try Markham just about 200 yards behind the "other" jeweler. I am so glad we did! Mark the Manager and Marcia the General Manager were so helpful and low pressure, they completely helped us out. They had the ring fixed and looking stunning in about 3 hours. We would highly recommend anyone shopping here. Don't be fooled by the castle look, this is a great place with great customer service, a very knowledgeable staff, and low pressure atmosphere.
