Quick update -- just stayed again this past week, and the Eaton DC is just as wonderful, if not even better. I'd mentioned the working space last time -- this time, I went to the front desk and they were able to print a few things for me, gladly and quickly. Everyone was as wonderful as the last time I was here. Comfortable, quiet and an even deeper commitment to community, social justice and self care. I got to stay in the Pride Room this time and love love loved it. Adding my photos from the room to my review as well.

Not off to a good start so far. Room was not ready during check in time (3pm). No help with luggage on arrival. Our "suite" on initial impression was underwhelming - feels outdated. Their system is down so we haven't gotten keys to the room. The pull out sofa bed still had old dirty sheets and comforter still in it covered in food crumbs.

I had wonderful stay that the Eaton hotel! Its a boutique hotel with a cute retro vibe and very friendly staff. I rarely give hotels a 5 star rating but I really liked several aspects of my stay. I love how the rooms are wooden themed with record players in each room! More importantly, their pillows are so comfortable! I hate the typical hotel pillows that are too soft and your head sinks in after 2 secs. If those are for you, they have them too. But for me, they also had fluffier and more robust pillows that made it so comfortable! The room was very clean with all the appropriate amenities and good storage space. Wifi was pretty solid! When one didn't work/wasn't as strong, I easily connected with the other. I had a corner room so it was quiet for me. The hotel is connected with Baker's Daughter (a coffee shop), a speakeasy bar (Allegory), and rooftop bar (Wild Days). The lobby space is vibey with a whole back around with conference rooms. I love the little radio area with numerous records and a DJ during the day. I didn't get a chance to check out their gym, pool, nor business center. Lobby staff and cleaning staff alike were very smiley and friendly! Valet parking available.

Location was conveniently located downtown near the Moxy rooftop and near by restaurants, coffee shops and historical landmarks. Story has it the owner's wealthy father gifted it to her in honor of her passion for social justice. They also had events like Listening session for Juvenile 400 degrees which i hate I missed and many other things to mix and mingle. Ambiance 5/5 From the lobby which has a restaurant and coffee spot, a speakeasy, and rooftop with live music that day! The band and ambiance was wonderful. It has a social justice and music themed décor w/ record player and vinyl records. I was fortunate to have Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, and Run DMC, among others records. The décor was beautiful, bed comfortable and a seating area near the window. It's such a trendy hotel with overall great décor. Price: N/A I was there on a complimentary fellowship so unsure of the price. Service 5/5 Great check-in service, late check-out despite it being booked, and service on the rooftop, drinks were refreshing

I didn't realize this is a hotel until my 3rd visit so full disclosure I have not booked an overnight stay here. But what I have done is eat, drink and socialized. The Eaton has a rooftop set up with patio seating and an open floor space with a full bar. On the 1st floor is a speak easy Allegory (see my review) with a laid back calm and cozy vibe. I have enjoyed each visit here. Looking forward to updating my review when book a room.

Ah, the Eaton. It's a vibe due to the coffee shop (Baker's Daughter but real ones remember Kintsugi!), Wild Days (lovely rooftop bar), and the focus on wellness throughout the space. Okay, but you want to know about the hotel? It met all the must-haves: safe, clean, and with good temperature control. Bed was comfortable and it was quiet for a restful stay. There was a record player in the room and even though I didn't know the artist, it was a nice listen. The rooms don't have a mini-fridge or microwave but there are so many eateries around, including some onsite. Breakfast, lunch/dinner, and happy hour are all in different (aforementioned) venues within the Eaton. Room rates are reasonable and you're within downtown. There's also a fitness center (can't speak to the quality). The lack of a full 5 stars is that there's some artwork that may be offputing for folks, elevators are small, and the wifi wasn't secured. Overall, a solid stay option if you're in the area!

Sounded like a great place but it wasn't! Yes it was close to the convention center, and it had this vintage flavor with vinyl records player in the room and people bringing boxes of their vinyls here. But in regards to patron needs: zero. Not only did they not address the clogged sink despite being told but the shower only had cold water. The lack of responsiveness is telling more than a friendly welcome.

I recently stayed at the Eaton while on business and was impressed with my stay. I was greeted warmly by Simone at check-in and my room was ready, even though I arrived a few hours early. The rooms are comfortably appointed and everything feels very curated - almost like I'm living inside someone's Instagram feed. My room had a record player and a collection of books in addition to a TV that allowed me to stream my Netflix account. I love a firm mattress, so I found the bed super comfortable. I appreciated that the bedside lamp and salt lamp had dimmer switches so I could lower the lighting as I got ready to sleep. There are lots of outlets and USB plugs near the bed and throughout the room. The location is great too. Most of DC's attractions are within walking distance and there are quite a few places to eat nearby. My biggest issue was with the bathroom. In order to turn the shower on, you have to be in the shower standing directly under the spray. It warms up pretty quickly, but those first few seconds aren't nice. The towel hook is also in the shower, so I felt like my towels didn't really have a chance to dry out. The toilet also ran a lot and was incredibly loud. Check out was easy and they were kind enough to hold my bags for me so I could explore the city before my flight out. I would highly recommend staying at the Eaton.

I've always driven by Eaton, but never stepped in until they started offering Yogalates with Kaya. It is so refreshing, physically challenging (in the best way), and I enjoy how she's intentional about meditating and journaling to get our minds right. I'll continue to come here as long as this class is offered.

I stayed at this hotel in December as part of a conference. I have been to DC many times for work, but never heard of the Eaton. Or at least, I thought I hadn't! Because they Eaton has a super sneaky secret bar and I was so taken by the bar the last time, I didn't realize it was in this glamorous hotel. Anyways! Hotel gave great rates for the conference, and I really enjoyed my stay. Firstly, the location was great, right on the circulator (free) bus route which was helpful. The lobby is stunning. I didn't have a chance to try the restaurant, but they have very high reviews. If I have more time the next time I stay here, I will certainly try them. The room itself is beautiful. Slightly on the small side, but it didn't matter because it was so artfully decorated and felt more like an experience than a plain hotel room. The record player in the room (with the Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson records) was such a nice touch. a Himalayan sea salt lamp, which was neat. The shower had great pressure and the design of the bathroom was very nice. The gym was adequate and there was even a recording studio in the lobby! I will definitely look at staying at the Eaton in the future, I had such a great experience.

I had a fantastic stay at the Eaton. Simone at the front desk really made my experience great. She was so warm and friendly and made sure to tell me all the information about the hotel. I wish the hotel had a bigger gym, but that is okay because they had many other amenities. I was able to book an appointment at the sauna in the spa and it was very relaxing and a similar price to other places in the DMV area.

I've stayed here a few times and always procrastinate on leaving a review. There's definitely a vibe here and I appreciate its progressive focus on diversity and inclusivity. You'll find a little market in the lobby across from check-in. There's also a DJ booth across from the elevators. Connected is the Baker's Daughter cafe. Lots of great seating areas for conversations and vintage decor. The speakeasy Allegory is in the library area, just check-in with the host as it fills quickly. I like that the hotel is not so huge in size and number of rooms as it gives a more intimate experience. The staff was very helpful although I didn't have any issues. They have a wellness gym, and spa area upstairs on the 2nd floor, just up the stairs from the DJ booth. I took a chi gong class after a long day of meetings and they offer other therapies as well. It was both relaxing and invigorating and a little bit of a workout with some great stretching and breathing as well. It's offered 2x per month and you can just register online. Can't wait to visit and stay here again so I can take it again. The retro-cool hotel room was pretty spacious and the bed comfortably dressed. The turntable in the room was a nice touch, and you can always swap out vinyl downstairs if your tastes run different to what's in the room. Same for books! The rock salt lamp was a nice soothing 'nightlight' with various settings. I had a room that was not street-side, so very little street noise and I slept very well. Note that if you like making coffee in-room (which I don't, ask for a coffee-maker and amenities when you check-in. Price-wise, it's a little higher than DC prices for a 4-star hotel but tops out amenities compared to others. There's a great breakfast included deal when offered. Definitely will come back and recommend!

Haven't been here in a while, and it's not what it used to be pre-pandemic. The roach infestation on the rooftop is an ultimate no-no! Hope this gets fixed soon.

You'll spend a lot of time staring at these elevators.

That jetted tub was supposed to earn its keep. The room: genuinely beautiful. The technology: aggressively dated. The vibe: a 90s time capsule, complete with missing doorknobs. There was effort here, but it felt like the hotel was holding its breath, afraid any real investment might trigger the next recession. What they got right: The bellhops were fantastic. Warm, personable, fun. Truly the highlight. Most staff we interacted with were polite and willing to help, which made the gaps elsewhere even more confusing. What they got wrong (beyond the dated room and tech): For a hotel that loudly advertises luxury service, the customer experience fell flat. Outside of the arrival bowl of fruit, nothing felt elevated. Night two, we ordered pizza and planned a cozy Home Alone movie night. The technology made streaming impossible. Fine, cable it is. We called the concierge and asked for two plates. Just two. The answer was a flat no. We were told to walk down to the lobby restaurant and see if they might have plates "to spare." I'm sorry, what? The next morning, room service arrived... with someone else's order. It was corrected, but for a luxury hotel, that kind of miss is surprising. Housekeeping came through, but only halfway. The coffee and minibar were never restocked. In a suite. At a luxury hotel. This is table stakes. At 9:30 PM we stopped by the lobby circle bar. It was immediately clear the bartenders did not want to be there. I get it, service work is hard. Still, opening our interaction by warning us about last call at 11 set a strange tone. By 10:00, one bartender disappeared for 45 minutes. No refills. No check-in. No bill. Breaks are important. Coverage is also important, especially when you're selling a premium experience. Beyond the bellhops, much of the staff felt irritated to be present. Front desk to concierge, the energy was less "historic luxury hotel" and more "counting down the minutes." The hotel was also clearly prioritizing weekend tea and brunch revenue, to the point that the historic lobby was clogged with extra tables and largely unusable for actual hotel guests. Bottom line: this was not a luxury experience, and I would not recommend it. I'm only posting this publicly because I reached out directly to hotel management and never received a response. At that point, a review feels necessary.

We found the valet staff particularly helpful especially when navigating awkward arrivals and parking needs of our personal guests. Sean was a prince. He supervised an otherwise complicated set of logistics with competence and gentlemanly grace. Another shout out to the manager ( sou?) of the breakfast dining. We watched him rigorously oversee staff and guests while occasionally stepping in when helpful. His leadership is likely responsible for the professionalism of said staff. This is in direct contrast to the staff of the Willard across the street where we took the first breakfast of our stay. We were dismayed to have to endure extremely loud staff socializing, boisterous laughter and downright flirting. This type of behavior would have been unacceptable at the JWMarriott. This experience alone confirms our future choice of Marriott over Willard for annual DC visits.

The vibes are opulent- the Peacock Alley is located in the grand lobby, which is massive and airy with a glass ceiling overhead to let in tons of natural light. A harpist also set the mood beautifully, but they didn't stay for very long- they maybe stayed about 30 minutes past our 3:30pm tea appointment. Tea services are offered at 12:00 noon and 3:30pm. The central cherry blossom tree is the showstopper, and the main reason I chose the Waldorf for our afternoon tea. I had heard that there are several cherry blossom-themed afternoon teas all over DC that may have better food options, but this was the only one with decor this grand. My main concern was with our seating. I had called ahead of time to ask if they could accommodate my group to have a close seating location close to the cherry blossom tree due to our special occasion. The staff assured me during two separate calls that they would be able to accommodate our request, but upon getting seated, we were seated in the far corner by the bar. It is true that there is a fair view of the cherry blossom tree everywhere in the lobby, but I was disappointed at our far vantage point given the fact that I had called to confirm a close spot to the cherry blossom tree twice in advance. This is because I wanted to originally schedule the premium experience (premium seating, champagne, and fine china), but it was not available to groups larger than 4 and we were a group of 6. The service was otherwise perfectly fine and the portions of food were generous and tasty. We were all definitely full after finishing our savory bites. Our collective favorites were the chicken cherryaki and crab beignet bites, but we all appreciated the diverse offerings. We also had a friend with a peanut allergy dining with us, and they accommodated her easily by separating her pastries onto a separate tiered tray. It looks like the only item with a possible nut allergen was the crab beignet (her version had tofu). Despite the mild issues with seating, the experience was gorgeous. As a cherry blossom lover, I can see myself doing this every time I'm back in town. - Ambiance: 5/5 - Service: 4/5 - Food: 4/5
