I always loved Ebenezer. The owner and staff receive 5 star in customer service. They always knew me by my first name and always squeezed me in even when I called last minute. I went there for over a year. The price however started to become quite expensive although I should understand, because I always got the extra long and thick set. My only gripe and reason why I stopped going was because for the money I was spending $75 + 20tip for technician and $5tip for massage my lashes were falling out at an alarming rate after only 2 days. I realized it all depended on which technician you get and they don't allow you to request a specific one. I explained this to them but it was left at just that. I do miss this place and their amazing customer service, but it's not worth it to spend all that money hoping whoever did my lashes will actually make them last. Sorry Ebenezer! Don't expect some fancy spa when you walk into Ebenezer. The space is nothing special, just a small waiting area and another small room with massage tables. There is zero privacy and it gets a tad stuffy with all of the lamps, but you definitely walk out with sexy lashes at a great price. I've been to Ebenezer around 6 or 7 times and have always loved the results. If you've never gotten lashes done, here's a small heads up. Wear something comfortable b/c you'll be laying on a table with your eyelids taped shut, with a heat lamp beaming down on your face for an hour. The last time I was there, I had a mini panic attack. I have been a happy and faithful Ebenezer client for over two years. My eyelashes are long, soft, and look natural. I LOVE them! I have not ever had a problem with eyelashes falling out or with any other possible irritation. I am a pretty active person and sweat nor water (from showering or swimming) has affected the eyelashes whatsoever. The location itself is beautiful and I have come to care greatly for the staff as they are very kind, courteous and friendly from the moment I walk in until the moment I walk out. The process itself is relaxing and actually quite comfortable. Throughout the hour of the eyes being closed, the lady working on the eyelashes is gentle and very quiet. There is soft relaxing music playing the background. At some point of the process, there is a wonderful foot and hand massage. Also, you can't request a particular person so its the luck of the draw if you get someone who is good. They also, don't spend much time telling you which one will be the best option for you. If I could give a negative 10 I would. I live in Atlanta where there are plenty of eyelash techs however I am from New Jersey where I use to travel regularly to NY to Ebenezer I absolutely loved my lashes like 2 years ago. They were natural and worth it. I went back just this past weekend and I must have been given a trainee. Let's just say when I rose from the lash bed the girl who started me was not who finished me and that should have been the 1st red flag but u have to understand I trusted this place. I really did. by the way I asked for the "gorgeous " the most dramatic lash. Now understand I'm thinking maybe the lighting is bad so I tell her I'm not pleased but I then say I don't know maybe it's me. (Never doubt yourself) not to mention I had 2 14 year old boys with me ready for pizza. So I paid and I left!!! Smh I'm almost embarrassed to say I paid $105 plus tipped the lash tech and foot masseuse. They will never see me again. What bothers me is the receptionist or should I say manager knew this. After a friend highly recommended the place, I made an appointment. My eyelashes were glued, I paid $96 and I was told not to use water for 24 hours. I was allowed to use makeup, but not to use oily makeup remover. I followed the instructions. 24 hours later, though, when I finally used water gently, clumps of eyelashes came off. I called the place and told them, but couldn't come back for another day. Finally, 32 hours after my treatment--and more lost eyelashes--I managed to return. I was told that I had lost too many hairs. They would glue some for free, but the amount I really needed to make up the lost ones would cost me another $34. I declined to throw good money after bad money. I did not take them up on the offer to just glue a few in the bold spots (where I still had my own eyelashes.) Just to prove to myself, I continued to follow their care instructions for the remainder of the lashes. A few sparse hairs stuck for two weeks, but of course, those were hardly what I had gone in for.... read more

I love my eyelashes so much that I have been back Every two weeks religiously.. My boyfriend says I look like I "stepped off a movie set" and I love that I never have to worry about mascara.. As shady as this place looks on the outside, their extensions and service are great. I tried another location and realized how much LONGER the Ebenezer lashes stay on!! I went about a WEEK without any of them falling out. Go to other places, they will be falling out the day after. I also love the little cheap massage they give you at the end. Awesome! What woman doesn't want longer, curlier, fuller eyelashes? It was the best experience any girl can ask for. You walk in and come out supermodel. Ok maybe not supermodel...but you rookies walk in and they almost immediately give you a cotton pad w/ makeup remover to remove all your eye makeup. Then they lead you to a table bed and cover you with a blanket. This place isn't fancy, but it doesn't feel clean. My friend considers it like a factory - there's about 4 of these table beds in a row, so there's a very good likelihood you will be laying about 15' from someone. It's $90 for the first visit + tip. They tape down your eyes which feels a bit weird at first and then they get to work. They place all the lashes on your forehead and delicately glue individuals lashes down to your own lashes (I'm pretty sure). They ask you not to talk or open your eyes the entire 60 min process. About 30-40 minutes in a lady comes to massage your feet and then hands/arms. It's quite nice & relaxing. After 60 mins - voila you're eyes seem bigger, your lashes are natural yet absofreakinlutely beautiful! It's been over a week since I've had the lashes and they will start to slowly fall out after a week. I will not lie you will lose a few of your own lashes, but if you take good care of your eye area your lashes will last longer. I gave credit to my friend Christina who recommended this place to me. I was happy to get 3 appts for my friends & I when we arrived to town. I'll definitely be back EVERY single time I go back to NY. It's well worth it. I just wish they had more places like this and that are reasonably priced in SF - then I'd really consider maintaining. The price we pay for beauty! read more

I came here with my mom by recommendation after we were repeatedly rejected by other "overbooked" salons to get a set of eyelash extensions. The receptionist and technician took their time explaining which lengths blended together would look the most natural. If you want the thicker kind, it's +$10. The whole process took about 1 hour and we left happily by 8pm. Thank you for not turning us down even though 1) we had no appointment, and 2) we were cutting close to closing time. My mom REALLY wanted to try it for the first time. The total cost was $94 + tip (cash only!). I'll update when I find out how well her lashes are holding out. read more

I will begin by saying that the staff is very friendly and very welcoming as you enter the building. I have been getting my lashes done for 4 years. I like my lashes full and long. I know the product, glue, and size of the lashes I prefer. I am a travel nurse which means I travel all over the US. I'm used to trying to new places and new product. I thought wow a place in New York City has to be amazing! Sadly, my lashes are horrible. I asked the ladies st Ebenezer if they had the product I was requesting before the application took place. They said yes no problem !! My lashes have never looked worse. One eye looks completely different. The lashes they use are hard so so hard and do not feel natural. They technician may have been new. Some lashes were not put on correctly and seem to have a mind of their own. Before she began I AGAIN asked do you have the size, length and curl? She said YES!! Before writing this review I attempted to call Ebenezer to possibly fix the problem. Maybe there would be someone more experienced who can help. Instead, they told me to come in and pay for a fill. The girl on the phone also said that she told me they didn't have the type of lashes I wanted and that I had to use some kind of coding???? Or mascara to make them thick?? What???? Again 4 years... never heard of this. Also this conversation did not happen. All I'm saying ladies. Now while these are synthetic lashes (which I knew) Your lashes should feel soft and natural. They should not feel like shards of plastic hanging from your eyes. I'm disappointed in myself for not asking more questions. I assumed when they assessed my lashes and when I told them what I wanted it was settled. Because normally if someone can't make you happy or accommodate you, they would tell you. Do research. I go to Ebenezer every two weeks because they do outstanding work. Their lash techs do a nice job of making my extensions look full without damaging my natural lashes. With proper care, I have no issues with fallout. I get the fuller lashes, which typically come to $67 for a two-week touchup.
