I am thrilled my husband and I found this place. Mesa and east Mesa is lacking in good bars and locally owned restaurants. For the people who are reviewing this place regarding their salmon and broccoli... I mean really? It is a PUB, i.e. nachos, burgers, wings, salads, drinks, tv's.... I might add that they should minimize the menu and get rid of items that aren't ordered consistently. We have only sat outside and have always had good service and excellent food. Last time we were in I ordered a Cobb salad, HALF SIZE and it was huge and so fresh. My husband ordered a BLT and it was delicious too. We will be back! read more

Alright, Well the beer is delicious, but that is the same for 98% of the bars in mesa that serve cold beer. The food however has become subpar. I went on Taco Tuesday and ordered what they told me are the street tacos. Right away I lit up like a kid on Christmas!!! Street Tacos are my favorite!! I ordered 3 shredded beef Street tacos and the waiter assured me these are authentic street tacos after I asked a million questions.They brought 3 cold corn tortillas with a blob of crock pot beef roast... It was disgusting. I even told the waiter the least they could have done was shred the beef. I took 1 bite after shredding it myself and the meat had no flavor and was chewy as hell. (being Mexican I had to say a quick prayer for the restaurant to be forgiven for serving and calling it tacos). There is a recipe on the world wide web that could have been followed and tasted phenomenal, but instead they served blob, fatty piece of pot roast, which was quickly returned.... I've been there a couple of times and will be going more often. The establishment feels like a sports bar with lots of TVs(No UFC) The waiting staff is friendly, they could be a tad faster. As for the food, the wings are superb though I would ask for them a tad crispier for next time. They grill them after being fried it really adds something to them. I'm definetly getting them again. My friends ordered sandwiches and they were very big portions and everyone seemed to enjoy it. They have a great selection of beer. They do offer the hard to find Irish cream beer "Kilkinney" I wish they stayed open later during the week. The prices are a bit high compare to other sports bar. Been here twice now and both times were crappy! Today was a disaster!! We were there almost two hours and never got our main meals to eat there. Had to have our server change to TO Go as we had meetings at 2:30. Our gal was a gem, not her fault at all. She was the only one there, working the bar and ten tables at or time. She did her best and so nice, she felt horrible and apologized profusely. Spent over $100 and will never go back there again. I live nearby and golf Las Sendas often. We used to love this place. Over the years it has declined severely. Platter came out cold as it was yesterday and couldn't find my server to complain about it. If you are a Cowboys fan do not go to this place on Sundays during football season! This is not a place to go on Sundays to watch your games. They have no clue on how to manage what game to put on the monitors, which by the way are too small. I highly recommend a better place down the street on Power rd and university, JJ Madison. Dropped into Echo 5 while visiting my Sis in Mesa. We were seated promptly and the waitress took our drink order. We told her we needed another minute to look over the menu. She disappeared for 20 minutes. Really, 20 minutes. She was working other tables but completely forgot about us. I was waiting for her to look in our direction but not a glance. I use to love coming to this place a kid. This place has gotten so bad over the past years. We went tonight to watch the suns game. I was not overly busy, they also had enough staff. However, the food took over an hour to come out.. we ordered a sandwich and a salad. I work in the food service industry so I understand. Was in town visiting family. Went in on a Sunday to watch the Jets game. It was crowded, but we didn't have to wait. They immediately changed a TV close to us to the game so we could see it, which was nice. Our server was pretty slow though, and never brought us water, though we asked twice. Food runner ended up bringing us water and a few extras to go with our food, since our server never checked back with us. If she was busy, we'd understand...but we never saw her anywhere...it was also only 2pm on a Sunday, and they were out of boneless wings...you'd think they'd be prepared on such a busy day. TV's everywhere, great for watching sports. Fan's of every team inside. Entertaining. Fun friendly atmosphere. We ended up just ordering a bunch of appetizers, and they were all really good! Showed up at 9:10 when hours say they're open til 10. Manager said they're doing last call in 10 minutes and refused to seat our party. Made me feel unworthy of even entering the restauran. HORRIBLE PLACE TO HOLD A PARTY. I booked a party (40 people) a month in advance. At that time I was told that the patio would be reserved for us and that they could rope it off for us. I spoke to managers at Echo 5 on three different occasions to confirm our reservation and preorder food. When I got there, I found the patio half full of people that were not part of my party. I thought, maybe they're just planning to stop seating the patio. NOPE!!!! I spoke with the GM who told me that no one told him about the reservation so he wasn't going to stop seating the patio. I spoke to managers on three separate occasions! He literally laughed at me. The owner happened to sitting with the GM and I asked if this was how he ran his establishment. He just smiled and shrugged his shoulders. I am so angry to have given them that much business in one night. The only reason there is a star, besides the fact that you can't give none, is that the servers were nice. I will never go back. read more

From appearances it looked like an Irish type sports bar, so I thought I would stop in and have a Guinness and some Irish pub grub. After looking at the menu I realized that it was not what it seems. They probably have good American and Mexican food, but they have no Irish food whatsoever. That is sad. It is a nice clean bar but it is just ordinary. They should get rid of the Irish theme and redecorate to a Texmex theme. read more

Seems to be going down in inspiration. Ordered shrimp cocktail and side salad. Little appears to have been done to try to elevate the shrimp cocktail. You get 7 reasonable sized shrimp, un-seasoned, un marinated laying on a bare white plate with a tasteless clear liquid on it (melted ice?)with a passable cocktail sauce in a plastic cup. The salad was fine and my wife's chef salad was very good. They we're very good about removing the charge for the shrimp cocktail from the bill. read more

Great neighborhood bar! Fantastic beer selection. Food is better than you might expect at a sports bar. Tons of TVs with more than just crappy sports talk shows with no sound. Seriously- they have hockey, soccer, whatever actual sports that are going on. A new favorite for me! read more

The one star is for Meg our server!she was kind, and courteous. We got seated immediately, and our order was taken promptly. Our drinks came out soon. Our table was a high top situated right b a room of stacked chairs, with a clear view of the bar and kitchen door. Ourfood came out 45 minutes later. Our server apologizing. The manager at least I thought he may be, made his rounds with the regulars. They came in after us, but were served before. As we waited, having clear view of the kitchen, I saw our food prepared by mask-less , gloveless workers. When we finished our tasteless meal I asked to speak with the manager. i told him of my concern, seeing people in the kitchen, without masks or gloves. He said he was following the health department guideline, and was indifferent to my concerns. He was not open to hearing an concerns, and did not acknowledge my appreciation for our server at all. I hope he reads this review, much like others, he needs to make some changes, unless drinks are all he cares to sell. 1. Don't use a table , during a pandemic, with clear view of a kitchen when people preparing food are not masked and gloved. 2. Don't disregard new patrons, for your regulars... you will never get any new regulars. 3. Even if you are disinterested in someone's opinion, acknowledge their concerns. If you are going to sell wings by the pound then dont tell me there should be 8 wings to weigh a pound. I ordered 4 lbs of wings take out. Got them home and thought this doesnt feel like 4 lbs. I fricken weighed them. They weighed 2 lbs WITH the damn carrots and celery. Called them up and shared my findings. Employee said you ordered all flats.... OK, a pound is a pound I tried to explain.. a pound of flats or a pound of drums..... It is still a pound. I understand cooked weight is different then raw weight but is it really 50% less? read more

I live in the area close to Echo 5 and have been a customer for the past two years. Unfortunately, the service has gotten worse every time we go here. We decided to order take-out because the place was packed, and we were trying to avoid group gatherings (including the waitstaff wearing their masks on their chins, very helpful.) We were quoted a time of 15 - 20 minutes to get our food. At 15 minutes, we were told the kitchen was backed up and it would be another 10 minutes, which was understandable because it was busy. When I asked the hostess to check on our order, 20 minutes later, I was told it would be another 5 minutes! At that point I asked for my money back, 40 minutes to get food is unacceptable. The hostess proceeded to go get a manager, but conveniently came back with my food instead, asking me if I still wanted a refund! To top it off, they charge a $1 fee for to-go orders! Thank goodness other sports bars are opening in the area, because the wait for food and attitude of the employees at Echo 5 is the worst! read more

Great selection of beer, good bar food, and friendly staff! There is not one seat in the house that you can't tune into multiple sporting events on the many TV's throughout the restaurant. Our family loves the deep-fried zucchini, so give those a try. read more

They have Kilkenny on draft which is why we came here. Had the wings and a burger which were both good. Overall it's just a run down sports bar with old TVs and average food. Good option though if you're looking for Kilkenny in an American sports bar setting and not in the mood for mediocre Irish food read more

Very nice pub type setting with several Flat screen TV's. Patio would be perfect if it was non-smoking. Appetizers are pretty good, particularly the hot wings, fries, cheese curds and buffalo shrimp. Service could be way better. Price was relative. read more

We want to make Echo 5 our local pub, and the wings are great, but we have some issues. I know the new owners have been working hard and making improvements. But the music is really bad, and it's too loud. We're guessing it's what the owners personally like to listen to, but I wish they wouldn't subject their guests to it. It's an irritating mix of mostly country, combined with occasional, obscure songs from other genres. Today we waited for over 20 minutes for our server to come back and take our order, so we gave up and left. College World Series was on. 30 tvs 1 had baseball, 3 had golf, the rest had NHL asked the hostess to put on the CWS on one tv it is on ESPN comes back says we do not have ESPN First shock. Waitress comes ask her to put ESPN on at least one tv. Give order get food. Waitress comes back nope we do not have ESPN. Shocked I say and you call yourself a sports bar? Let your manager know we will be wrighting a review and letting people know you call yourself a sports bar and do not have ESPN. She does not let the owner/manager know but talks to the hostess who comes back with the waitress and a paper and says yes we do have ESPN we will put it on. In the mean time we have our order already and half way finished before they put on the game. I do not know about you but when I walk into a sports bar I would think I would not have to ask for the CWS to be put on. Fault of the owner /manager for not having someone who know sports scanning the guide for multiple sports on different tvs. Now for the food! On menu Steak and fries description 10 Oz ribeye with garlic butter and fries Ask for onion rings instead. Get my order it is a sirlion and no garlic butter. Waitress to busy to ask her about it. Steak was okay but when you do not get what you ordered it is disappointing. By the way as you can see on their online menu there is no sirloin steaks. Onion rings were the frozen type and greasy. Had a taste of the French fries they were a thin home style but under cooked. My friend did not eat any of his fries. He ordered the Buffalo wings mild which were medium to hot and we're grilled. We did not order the Shrimp Poboy but in the description it said on a Hoggee? What everyone who knows food knows that Poboys or French bread not hogee. Another menu fail in the description. Beers were priced at $5 uggh. It did not help that the father of the family of 4 next to us was eating his buggers, not the fault of the restaurant. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Over priced and total menu failure. You would be better off passing this place and finding a true sports bar. read more

Pretty terrible experience over all. Ordered the Shepards Pie, which showed up with instead of a layer of mash on top, was a glop of mash. Dish was not baked, nor was the filling appetizing. When I complained about the quality of the meal, no refund was offered, unlike every other restuarant I've ever been in. I really enjoyed my experience at this establishment the young lady that waited on me and a couple of pals was simply outstanding, there was no questions what so ever and not once did any of my party have to ask for refills or any other service. Maybe I should have known better but given all the great reviews here I thought why the hell not? If its on the menu it should be good right? WRONG. We ordered the salmon with broccoli and sweet potato fries.. Salmon was super dry, the brocolli was super cold and was boiled should have been blanched, and the sweet potato fries were sooooooo soggy and cold to the touch! When we told the waitress she brought out a new hot basket but they were still super soggy. Literally limp sweet potato fries. Would not recommend the gourmet items on the menu. read more
