The pub has a great atmosphere and decor. I visited the pub last Sunday to watch the Cowboys play the Lions. We ordered appetizers and drinks then our meal, I also bought an echo 5 cup for a Veteran. My intentions were to stay there to watch the whole game. I did enjoy the food, and the game when a female wearing cardinals gear and long dangle red earrings( who was not our waitress) came by and bagged up our food. In my opinion was not a big deal kinda felt that we were being rushed but I let it go since our intentions were to stay and watch the game. The restaurant was not busy at this time. After we ordered another round of drinks because it was half time at that point this waitress rudely tells myself and the individual that I was with "geez are you guys closing down the place"? To my astonishment , I was like what did she just say? I was pretty sure that she was not being sarcastic. So hopefully the owner of the restaurant sees this and corrects her behavior towards the customers. Also this being a Veteran run establishment I would think that the employees would have more respect for the veterans that do come in and patron the restaurant. I do not believe that I would ever go back or recommend this pub to anyone that I know, due to the fact of how the staff treated myself and the individual I was with. read more

Excuse me? Take it off your online menu or state that online. Do not claim you have delicious wings and then not offer them. They used to offer them carry out and apparently do not anymore (and they were really really good!). Also, the first time I called I was put on hold for 5 minutes and then disconnected. First time visit and enjoyed our food and atmosphere. Love the fact that this is veteran owned and managed. Hence the Echo5 name.... Cheese sticks had good flavor but were a little soft marinara was sweet and the parmesan crumbs better than the shredded I've had at other restaurants. Wings were real good. Not real fatty or over cooked like so many other locations. Good texture and smooth flavor with just the perfect amount of sauce. BBQ sliders were reaaaaal good. Sweet with a touch of heat in the sauce. Son had bacon burger and her enjoyed that as well. My youngest had the chicken Parmesan sand which and really liked it as well. read more

Nice enough place, lots of TV's to watch football (except the game we wanted to watch but whatever). Service was OK. But, if you are going to charge nine dollars for a Guinness, seventeen for a club sandwich and throw in a lame ass three percent to use a credit card the food better be really good and it is not. There is nothing special here to justify the prices (and the three percent slap in the face which is really what it is). This is to the owner/manager, I/we have been coming in for years and want to continue. First of all the servers have always been great but lately the food/value has been trending down. Most recently I ordered a cheese burger- I bit into it and thought they forgot the cheese- they didn't. It was sooo thin I couldn't discern what flavor. Both buns were burnt(it happens) that it over powered the taste of the burger. I should have had them swap them out for new-I didn't . The poor cook delivered my salad with the burger- by the time I quickly ate the salad- burger was cold. Salad should come before meal and didn't want to bother the cook to reheat it. Lastly the fountain drinks are filled to the top with ice- I took 3 slurps from straw and had to flag the server several times for refills and I think I was charged 3.50. As my weekly quest continues to discover the East Valley's best Friday Fish Fry restaurants tonight brought us to Echo 5 Sports Pub in Mesa and once again we selected a place despite the low ratings from a very vocal minority. And once again the point was underscored that bar people are not the best people to listen to when they review a bar - it seems 9 times out of 10 their issues have nothing to do with how good the food is but some sort of (real or imagined) personality run-ins they have with the owners or people who work there. I'm not a bar person and the only reason I'm checking them out lately is for their fish fry specials, I'm not there long enough or often enough to get into personality conflicts with the staff. So for the record our "service" was exactly what you would expect to get on a Friday night at any bar anywhere ... we were greeted at the door, walked to our booth by a reasonably friendly staffer, had a waiter at our table within 5 minutes, got our food in about 15 minutes (it takes that long to fry fish), got checked on by our waiter a couple of times, got our check within about 5 minutes after finishing our meal and were out of there. Most of the tables were full but Jeff, our server, didn't seem rushed or stressed. Look, this isn't a 5-star restaurant ... we got Friday night bar service in a bar on a Friday night. No complaints. If you go there to watch sports on TV (um why else would you go to a place called a Sports Pub?) they are very well set up for that with almost every inch of the wall space covered with TV screens tuned to sports shows. Food quality? Reality check, who goes to a sports bar expecting fantastic food? BUT I've got this high expectation set for Friday Fish Fry's that says it is a bar's solemn responsibility to excel at that task. The special here isn't technically a Friday Fish Fry, just Fish 'n Chip but it is all you can eat. Our first serving of three large, thick battered filets with French Fries and Hush Puppies was in fact all I could eat. At $11.99 it's right on point for this area. The filets were very dense and firm with a lot of flavor and were some of the best I've had lately, or would have been if they weren't just slightly overcooked. I'm forgiving that because when it comes to cod I would rather they err on the side of cooking it a little too much than serving it a little undercooked. The fries were good, the hush puppies nothing to write home about. Because I think Echo 5 is worth trying if you are in to fried fish dinners I'm rating them a bit on the high side so you don't get discouraged by the backstage infighting. Very nice little sports bar. We got seated right away. Megan was our server. She was right on top of everything. Very fast and friendly. I got the Red Mountain Bacon Bomb and a side salad. Basically a bacon cheeseburger on a piece of Italian bread. Very good. Lots of bacon, cheddar cheese and a huge burger. Wife got the chicken fried steak meal. Not that great. Chicken fried steak was below average. Instant potatoes and a biscuit came with it. The biscuit was absolutely is hard as a rock. Not Exaggerating at all. I tried to put my fork through it and it would not go through. It was like it had been sitting out in the sun for a month. Disgusting. Wife also got one of there top shelf Margaritas. $10, kind of expensive but very good. We are definitely going back just won't be ordering the chicken fried steak meal. Defiantly a 1 Star meal. Stopped in after a morning on the river and it was such a good choice! I can't speak for much more than the wings but I did the all flats, grilled, hot with a side of AZ Golden and they were great. Nice size wings, cooked just right, and the sauces paired super well together. Kitchen was a tad slow for the amount of people in there but the food turned out great so I'm not complaining. Tons of TVs to watch which ever game you need and patio with misters if you want to be outside. Definitely going to be a place to stop into when I'm on that side of town. read more

Update: I returned here with some friends over the past week to see if anything had changed. There were 4 of us total. My drink sat empty for a good 30 minutes. I had to ask two different waiters for a refill before I received one. The service is even slower than it used to be. It took us 2 hours and 15 minutes to finish our meal because we could never find the servers and they never came to our table to check on us. read more

We have started coming here at least once a week. The service is always friendly, the other patrons are friendly and fun; and the food is great. Our current favorites are the Spicy Chicken Bowl and the California Chicken. read more

So mediocre. Unbelievably most of the TVs have a significant blue tinge making them unwatchable. Most of the TVs in the dining area are way too small (prob 10+ years old too). Almost all beers are big national beers. So much potential in this area and with the space but no one seems to care, and hasn't invested any money in so long, will be surprised to see if it makes it much longer. On the other hand, this area is a barren wasteland of decent bars so maybe they'll scrape by. read more

By far the worst dining experience I've had in several years. We went on a Saturday, reservation at 5:15. Once we were finally seated drinks came quickly but it was downhill from there. It took over an hour from the time we ordered our food until the time it was served to us. The waiter came out twice to apologize and said there were only two working in the kitchen. Our order wasn't that complicated. The fish from the fish and chips was lukewarm meaning it had been cooked just not served. If that wasn't bad enough the fish was tough and tasteless. We used to be regulars but left due to several experiences of bad service. We decided to give it another try, only to find that their menu was smaller and their prices were much higher. We decided to share the $16 Reuben, which was mediocre at best. We won't be back. There are plenty of other places with good service and reasonable prices. read more

So glad to have a great local bar in the area! We just moved to the area from Paradise Valley and have quickly realized the pickings are slim! We ended up trying Echo 5 as a result of a horrible experience at D'Vine wine bar a few doors down. We are so glad we happened upon this restaurant. There is no shortage of TV's in the space. In addition to a full wall of TV's at the end of the restaurant, there are TV's lining all sides of the restaurant. We were at a high top in the restaurant side and had easy viewing of any and all games being played that evening. They have a decent tap list. The only reason they didn't get a 5 from me, is they need more craft beer on tap... (can i put in a request for Coffee Kolsh? :) It's such a great easy drinking summer beer) The food was good. We ordered a few dozen wings (Arizona Gold are the Best!), the jalapeno cheese curds and some beer battered zucchini. Even though it was fried and our 40 year old bodies will hate us tomorrow, we ate every bite! This past weekend we took the kids back with us to watch the ASU Football Game. Another great experience. It's a very family friendly sports bar and the kids even found a small arcade room with a few games to keep them busy during half time and the commercials. We've been there twice and both times the service was horrible, both times it was about a 15 minute wait before they even came to get our drink order.. Then after they took our food order the waiter didn't come to see if anyone wanted a refill. The second visit we went back to see if the service woukd be better.. And unfortunately it was not. My boyfriend and I ordered the chicken fried steak and it didn't have any flavor and tht gravy was cold. The burgers are good and so are the options for French fry bowls. We even went up to the bar and asked the bartender if we should order there, and she said that someone would come over. No one came. We walked out. This is the second time we've experienced this at Echo 5. We could see servers just chatting by the bar, so it's not like this happened because they were short staffed. read more

This place has the worse management ever. We come here every Sunday for football and there are about 15 of us spend a grip. Some of us smoke cigars and they have a porch for smoking and the manger says they don't allow cigars. They are next to a cigar shop.Robbie the angry Irish Manager is the one who aka us to leave. The food is not great service is poor and they don't want your business. Yes all Las Sendas and red mtn residents should avoid the place. Getting my check and never coming back. The cigar shop next door should partner With any bar and run all other customers there. Hate this place. Yes I'm angry rare i write bad as this. But it's Worse bar in Mesa. Not sure why there's so many poor reviews on this place. Maybe they got the bad cooking staff or something. I have been here only once, and that will change due to the GREAT experience I had with the FOOD. Service: Overall it was ok, the hostess was nowhere to be seen, and it took a little while before we got seated. Which was fine, it was a saturday night. I don't have unrealistic expectations like some of these people on this site. The waitress was nice, but she didn't know why they had military stuff on the walls. She should probably know why they have such a strong military presence there. Food: Overall the food was pretty decent! I had the regular burger there, and it tasted just fine to me! Fries, onion rings, sweet fries were all good. I would like to try more of the food. We also got an order of the fish and chips, and one day there is an all you can eat for fish and chips. Honestly, I was completely disappointed with the lack of management. Sat at a table for over ten minutes without someone asking us if we had been served. Then, went to the bar and got service immediately. Unfortunately, there were only two servers scheduled on a football Sunday. I was in shock! Having been in the business as a host, server, expo, bartender, and manager, I was very unimpressed with the lack of a manager even being there and no one specific in charge. Our server was in the weeds as expected but kept her cool with over 20 tables to herself. At this point, I asked why the bartender has not taken over cocktail tables and why one of the two hosts were not pre bussing and checking on tables and relaying messages to servers, to which the response was, "the hosts are running food and working their butts off." I asked where the manager was or someone in charge and found out that they were not here. These servers, hosts, and the bartender and working their asses off with no help. This is ridiculous! If it keeps going this way, they will lose business and respect. Unbelievable.... All staff on the premises were amazing. We came here tonight (NYE) and the server, Becky, was very friendly. My 3 family members all enjoyed their meals. I ordered the green Chile 'burger' but with chicken breast-no cheese. My first bite had a piece of wooden skewer cooked into the chicken. I had to send it back and asked for it to go bc my party would be finished eating by the time it came out. My hubby gently reminded our server about the 'no cheese' on the refire. Thankfully I had my side to eat while waiting. The chicken breast sandwich came out and I checked it for cheese- sure enough- there was cheese on it. They had tried to scrape it off but there was still enough to easily see it. I hope they don't treat mistakes like this frequently- especially with so many allergies out there. I won't be back. A two star instead of one bc becky was so nice! read more
